Challenging and unpredictable= fun

First off I have to comment on the few people who've actually complained about the ending being different from the book. DUH! Let go of your ego's that were saddened because you thought you were so clever for "already knowing" who the killer is and then being wrong. Think about how that would affect the game, how you act, what you search for and concentrate on- if you knew the ending.

This game was very fun. I enjoyed it the most when I'd get a slight hint or direction and have to think about how to play it out next. I enjoyed the plot too as it was fun. I also liked the layout. You can still see your whole screen and click on your inventory and it's just presented at the top of the screen. You can also click on documents and books to read some of the printed materials you picked up. You pick up a lot of items along the way and sometimes you have to "disassemble" them to get other items out of them. That was the most fun figuring out and trying to disassemble or combine other items to re-assemble. Definitly keep in mind as many are saying, that you need to be into this type of game to play or it could be incredibly boring.

Some downsides: It was a pain to go all over the island and then back to the house. There should be more actual "short cuts/secret tunnels" or quick links to say "go to..."

I have no idea how anyone could ever solve this without a cheat. It is very fun to have a slight hint of direcion and still challenging to figure out how to follow that direction or hint- but very often you have no hint or direction and could wonder the whole island and house all day with no avail.

Also, if you pay close attention to everything that was said, sometimes there are little clues and what to investigate next. Unfortunatly, if someone walks in the room or calls you- while they are talking and you miss what they said, I couldn't find a way to replay what they said. Also, the words show on the screen and then they are also said aloud. I read faster than they speak and I would like to move on after- but you have to wait for them to say the whole thing.

An Incredible Game That Pays Tribute to the Original

I loved this game. Not only did it expand the book, which is one that I love and have read over and over, but it brought in new characters and expanded on the story that I love. It's interesting to see the characters play the game out and see some of the back story behind it. I think it's a great game. Great graphics, great sound effects and it's not choppy.

Just a lot of fun!

I'm a mystery/thriller book reading fiend and am always on the lookout for new version of mystery entertainment. I thoroughly enjoyed spending some rainy afternoons immersed in And Then There Were None. I have read the book and seen every screen variation of this mystery ever produced, and I still found playing this game a whole lot of fun. I just wish the gaming industry would produce more similar products. If you are a mystery fan, this game is for you. The gaming techniques are very easy to pick up and if you get stumped, there are loads of "hint" sites on the internet to provide help. Highly recommend.

The game was advertised as VISTA compatable but when I received I found that it was not so I had to return it.

Fun game - but a nightmare to install!

Beware - I was shipped (TWICE) a bad build of this software, with the two discs containing different versions. Amazon was nice in replacing my copy, but the replacement had the same problem. It took nearly two months to straighten it out with the publisher, after many hours were invested in trying to "fix" my "computer".

If you can get this installed, though, the game is fun to play, with most puzzles being not so easy as to be trivial, but not so hard that I have to run for a hint guide. There are a few issues with continuity (characters mention story elements I haven't encountered yet, etc) and realism - spatial relationships are confused/jumpy and lead to distracting gameplay, and sometimes make you miss evidence you need to solve a puzzle. However, it's an engrossing game that follows the book (the full original text is included!) very closely while changing the ending enough to make it a detective adventure. Worth the time & money invested.

This game seemed like it was going to be exellent when i read about it.Well i got to play about fifteen minutes of it.I dont know if my copy had a glitch. The game would shut down everytime.Im taking back the game as soon as a go back to the store. My computer met all the requirements .

As for the game that far,Pros:The story was great. It was set up to be a really great mystery.
Cons:Besides softare problems. The game moved about really slowly. It took forever to get from point a to b.The game was a bit confusing.I really had no idea what to do.You basicaly run around collecting clues, that really made no sense.Maybe if the game would have stayed running longer i would have liked it.Im going to try and avoid software from this company in the future.

nice intro...evolve into something better maybe?

The big question, is this a new series of games? If it is, then I'd say this is a nice beginning. I played on windows xp without SP2 and found no bugs. Older machine so I couldn't play in anti-aliasing mode which is a bummer. Nice art work and such. The game is non-linear (you can actually skip out on a few "chores" and still get to the end) game that seems to run quite smoothly. I agree with another reviewer that it's on the boring side..."hot spots for idiots" really. If this is a beginning of an Agatha Christie series then I'm looking forward to the next game-progress would be good. I liken the concept to the Nancy Drew games but not quite up to snuff. The non-linear play makes for a bit more challenge since you have to be more thorough but the lack of challenging puzzles is disappointing. Let's just say the main character is a bit of a McGyver with the objects he collects. A little more relevancy would be appreciated. Running around a mansion trying to "trigger" a new chapter is not exciting. Fingers crossed for a progressive next installment. Not worth $30 so wait for it to go at least below $20. If only we could recycle our games amazon!

DreamCatcher is improving its graphics. Ho Hum. Maybe its me. These point and click games seem to be so difficult to get immersed in. The game came off as stale. I don't know if it was due to the musical score (that reminded me of my grandmother's crocheted doilies on the backs and arms of sofas and chairs) or the tedious dialogue. Maybe its the frustration of the awkward preset movements.

Even though I'm not particularly interested or overtly enthusiastic about playing the early Potter games over and over, their game mechanics made playing enjoyable.

Why can't we wander around freely and direct our characters in adult adventure games? Why are we always pointing and clicking? Why are the games stilted and lifeless? Who made that rule?

Agatha Christie's novel 'And Then There Were None' kept me occupied and on the edge of my seat on a summer vacation as an awkward 13 year-old many, many, many many years ago. I had to know 'who did it?'

The game of the same name is worse than having to stay after school on a cool bright summers day.

What can I say? Yuk.

Slow game spent walking around a house and island. However, the graphics are beautiful and the story is pretty good. I just wished I didn't have to spend so much time watching people plod around. Get there already!

Comparing this to many of the Agatha Christie gmes this is a sure winner. A bit difficult but the challenge, video, and characters made it a rewarding challenge.
If you like role playing and solving puzzles this is a good game to get!
I highly recommend it to mature people looking for a new genre of game and simulation!
