MYST- What else is there to say!

Myst was a game that I picked up by chance. I had just bought my computer and found the game on a bargain shelf. Was I surprised? .....More than that, I was thrilled! I had never before played such an involved and MYSTical game, and probably never will again. The whole storyline was enthralling. I was spurred on by every puzzle I came upon as well as by the flawless way the creators wove the plot, characters, object manipulation and ending ALL into a wonderful joyride! Kudos to Mindscape, Cyan and Red Orb for such an enterprising and entertaining piece of work!

A thinking person's game!

It is the year 2000, I finally played this amazing game. Myst was released 7 years ago. It is timeless. I was able to solve the game without hints, so don't be too intimidated! I'm not that smart. Like many other reviewers have stated, you don't play Myst, you experience it. When you sit down to play, prepare yourself as you would before sitting down with a good book, brew a fresh cup of tea, grab your notepad, and allow yourself to be swept into the story. The glory in this game is to appreciate its beauty. It is "cyber-art". I can't wait to play "Riven" and "Myst3".

I thought Myst was one of the best games I've ever played. It's a challenge, a challange worth taking. All you have to do is to lose yourself in the game, explore, and write everything you think is important(most everything is important). If you loved Myst, try Rivin, The sequel to Myst. And f you loved Riven, try Myst 3:Exile...Take my word for it. This game is the one to own. By the way, kids under ten CAN play this game.

This game is the most interesting and complicated game i have ever played. You start the game in a strange world with nothing other than yourself and un-ending questions. From there you must uncover various clues from scraps of paper and other such things that lead you on to discovering new and exciting ways, but if you dont get something important all will go wrong. I consider myself a rather intelligent person--and all my scores agree-- but i suppose this game must have some secret you have to unlock before you really understand what is going on. Many people have said how much they loved it and all the different levels, but unless you find something that i havent yet, i doubt you will get very far at all. Very interesting and still fun to run around in the weird world anyways--but beware, unless you are very intent on going all the way in this game, you may get lost and be very disappointed in it....

A very good game!

It took me a while but I was able to solve Myst! I enjoyed it's unique interface and no directions just move around it and figure it out for yourself style! I would recommend this game to anyone who likes a challenge and wants to solve a mystery!

this is the first of lots of adventure games, but still the best. Based on a relatively old slide-technology (HyperCard), it's amazing, what CYAN's developer created out of it. Try it, and try also the Sequel to it, RIVEN.

Great for cooperation

I really enjoyed this game. Good progression of the story line through the game. Graphics are great. On the parts I could not figure out, my sister and I worked together. Two heads are definitely better than one.

"Myst" not only gives us a challenging mystery to unlock (which is no small task or accomplishment), it takes us into a world full of vision, brilliance and lush setting to take our breath away. After being transported to a mysterious island by way of opening a book, the journey begins, and in order to figure out the residing secrets and clues the island has to offer, one must explore like never before, and study the atmosphere and surroundings as if they were for college credit. Keep in mind everything you find minute and abstract, because that may just be what you need to unlock the many doors into the new worlds. The graphic design for this game is stunning, a complete masterpiece, and while it may take a bit longer than most games to load its images, it's not much, and it does add to the life-like experience. The settings themselves, while being beautiful, have a certain degree of intensity and underlying terror to them, especially in the searching of the bedrooms in the different worlds. This is a game experience not to be missed; even the most worldy and sophisticated of minds will be challenged. Enjoy!
