Who Knew? I'm Hooked on Nancy Drew!

I realize that the software geniuses at HerInteractive originally created the Nancy Drew mystery games for girls...but, uh...even though I'm over 30, I just can't help myself! Stay Tuned for Danger is completely amazing! It's such a thrill to pretend you're Nancy Drew and try to think like a master detective. There's endless puzzles to solve and clues to look for. But watch out for mind-boggling twists, turns and surprises--they'll keep you occupied for hours! You truly have to see the dynamite 3D graphics to believe it! Each room you enter is designed and decorated with exquisite detail. You'll also love the music and captivating dialogue between the characters. Beware of only one thing: you may get hooked! Everyone will LOVE this game! (I'm trying to tear my husband away from it as we speak...he's been playing the game now for 8 straight hours!)

This computer game has a such a wonderful environment to explore! I wish there was more of it! The 3-D animated characters are a nice improvement over the 2-D animation in "Secrets Can Kill". The puzzles are fun, and the game play is addictive. This game is a little bit tougher than the last game...you really have to hunt for those clues. "Stay Tuned" is perfect for anyone who loves a good mystery. It's a refreshing alternative to the blood, gore and evil in the popular software games today. I highly recommend it.

Sleuthing isn't easy, but it sure is fun!

This is the second game in the Nancy Drew software series that I've tried (I've also played "Message In a Haunted Mansion"), and this was by far the more difficult of the two. In this game, Nancy is staying with a soap star, Mattie, whose on-screen co-star, Rick, has been receiving death threats. It's up to Nancy to find out who is behind them. The game requires not only patience but a smart mind; you have to remember things and write down clues, solve puzzles, and plan things accordingly. Although I enjoyed playing it, it was frustrating at times, and one time, I spent several hours thinking I was stuck, because I had not noticed the arrival of an important new object. (Boy did I feel silly when I finally noticed it!) This game will take you many hours to complete. For fans of the older Nancy Drew books, there's an added bonus -- the games feature objects from the books (look for the clock from "The Secret of the Old Clock", with the crescent on the top!) and other little fun things like that. I want to offer two hints that I think will be helpful: #1, pay attention to the chair in Mattie's house, near the phone. #2, explore all rooms **thoroughly**. You will pick up many objects during this game, and all will either be important, or finding them will just advance the game. You may need to explore rooms two or three times to find everything. Also, if after you've installed this game (or Message In A Haunted Mansion), you get an error message that the game can not locate a Direct Draw Surface, and you KNOW your computer meets all the system requirements, make sure your hardware acceleration is set to FULL. If you're using Windows 98 you can do this by going to your Control Panel, clicking on "Display", then clicking on the "Settings" tab, then clicking the "Advanced..." button, then clicking the "Performance" tab, and pushing the bar all the way up to "Full." Then you'll need to restart you computer. This solved the problem for me. Hope this helps! All in all, this is a very fun game for teenage girls and young women (and hey, guys too!), great for friends and family members to play together, and just an all-in-all wonderful game. I hope Dreamcatcher and HER Interactive make more of these!

a challenge but not impossible

My daughter and I just finished playing "Stay Tuned for Danger." It was great! We had a lot of fun "putting our heads together" and solving the mystery. The game was a challenge, but not impossible. Our shelves are filled with software games that were fun at first but then became too difficult and were never finished. "Stay Tuned for Danger" was just right! We've already ordered "Secrets Can Kill" are are looking forward to a new mystery to solve.

Nancy Drew's Stay Tuned for Danger is a challenging and fun game for everyone! I was a tad skeptical when I saw the age rating (10 years and older), but the game proved that completely wrong! The word puzzles are a bit difficult to solve, but once you figure them out, the mystery is a cinch to solve. Rick Arlen, a soap heartthrob on the soap opera, Light of Our Love, is reciveing threatening letters from a lunatic "fan" and Nancy Drew is on the case. The graphics are so realistic, they look like photographs. There are hundreds of close-up graphics that offer no development to the case, but are just there for you to enjoy. The sound is crystal-clear and the music adds emphasis to the spooky situations Nancy can get into. A great feature is the "Second Chance". If you have made a fatal mistake during gameplay, you will be brought to the main menu and continue the game just as if you had never made the mistake. Installment is very simple, and it only takes ten minutes. The usability is wonderful and I had no problems with it at all. Her Interactive has come up with a great game that people of all ages can enjoy. This game is truly worth the thirty dollars and I highly recommend to anyone who loves mysteries and a good way to boost your logic points!

I can't believe that I am in my own house sometimes when I am playing this game. I makes me feel like I am there in Nancy Drews house or in the game. I feel like I am walking from room to room and really opening things. I love to read everything and then solve the clues. I is fun to write everything down and then it all is useful later even when you think its not really anything as far as a clue. I love this game I really like finding the clues and talking to the characters in the game. Her interactive you are wonderful.....thank you thank you for making this game. Please keep making them, I am just waiting for the next one to come out...Thank You

I am 15 years old and I loved this game! When I saw the age range (10 and up), I was a little skeptical, but it turned out to be quite challenging! The word puzzles are a little difficult to figure out and some of the clues are hard to find, but it just makes the game better. Notes are also a good idea. I thought the music added emphasis to the spooky atmosphere and the situation. In fact, it was a little scary! If you love mysteries, I highly recommend Nancy Drew's Stay Tuned for Danger! I cannot wait for the third mystery!

Great game to match any mystery enthusiast's expectations!

I love a good mystery, period. Not only does "Stay Tuned For Danger" provide a great classic mystery story, but it does so in a fun, exciting and interactive way. Who would have thought that my first chance at real detective work would have been from a Nancy Drew mystery video game! It's just a matter of time before this becomes a hit with every girl (and maybe boy)who enjoys role playing video games. I'm looking forward for their next mystery game to come out.

I couldn't stop playing it!

The second game in this exciting series proved just as appealing as the first. I was kept busy for hours as I snooped around a New York T.V. studio finding puzzles and clues to help unlock the mystery of a stalker sending threats to a Soap Opera star. The game's graphics are terrific, the plot is believable and the puzzles are quite challenging but solvable. The company did away with that pesky two disk system from the last game so everything went alot smoother too. My only complaint is that it was not really possible to deduce the culprit as the evidence seemed to incriminate everyone. However, this is one of the few quality games that appeals to players that want to do more than just blow someone's head off. This game accomplishes everything it attemps to do and is alot of fun to play. Cheers to Her Interactive- I can't wait for the next one.

My 11 year old daughter loved this game. When she would get stuck on clues there was an internet site to go to where she could get help but not the entire answer. If your child loves to solve a mystery this is game is great!
