One of the Best Games Ever!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 3 / 3

This game I think is one of the best games ever! They have a great battling system so you can kind of pick if your in a battle (kind of) and it has beautiful and artistic graphics. It has a great story line for each person and all the people are unique in there own ways. They also have a great learning and leveling up system. You never know what's gonna happen next sometimes!and all in all I think this game deserves all the stars possible and I reccomend it to most people!

Greatest game ever made? Possibly.

This game simply has amazing gameplay. If you're looking for good graphics or a good story, do yourself a favor and play something else. But if you think gameplay is the most important factor in a game, this is for you.

One small problem: When they say this game is non-linear, THEY MEAN IT. GameFAQs has an excellent FAQ for it. Get MHobb's FAQ and it'll be a lot more fun.

And stay away from the sequel.

Saga Fronteir is a great game for people who like a challanging game. This game has 7 different characters (Red, Blue, Emilia, Asellus, T260, Lute, & Riki). Each character has a different mission, example: Blue has to master different types of magic. This game can relate to real life situations. Over all this is great game for peolpe who like challanging games!

Saga Fontier is one of my all time favorites. Lots of people on other reviews claim that it is Confuseing with weird character overlaps.....well to me the character overlaps made the game even better! I do have to agree with the confuseing part although, it often left me without a clue where to go next but that only made it more challenging. This game has Seven different characters you can use as your main...but you may meet up with others on your way. This is a type of game that people need to make more of. I love the type of battles in this game the combos ect. The extremly different storys lines for each character is also a catcher for me. If you are skeptical about buying this game i suggest you at least rent it to try out and also dont get discuraged if u get lost, confused, or stuck just work your way out its always possible. Thanks For Your Time....... Sincerly, Gal Gamer

Not quite good enough

Initially "Saga Frontier" is quite interesting, but unfortunately it quickly bogs down from there. The game offers seven different characters in seven different stories (some of which are actually quite interesting); this is a very neat idea, but the action gets repetitive after exploring the same area in different stories. The fight action is interesting at first, but this too gets repetitive in a rather short time. One thing I did like was the backgrounds; some of them were just beautifully rendered. Unfortunately the character/monster graphics just did not fit in with the background; they were two different styles that just did not mesh well with each other. If the game had offered a better combat engine and more unique areas for each character, "Saga Frontier" would have been a pretty good game.

Three words...better than FFVII

This game is such a masterpiece. It has wonderfully brilliant music, an even better battle system, and characters that are just having some little problems for you to fix. The storyline is what you make it. If it is to be involved, then go do a lot of extra things to make the story longer. If it is to be bare minimum, then blow right through the game. Needless to say, the base story isn't the most involved I've ever seen, but everything else about the game is beyond any Squaresoft RPG on PS (except FFTactics of course; FFVII and FFIX are so newbie and bandwagoner based that they ...more than anything that has ever ... before; FFVIII was ok...) Anyway, I've played through this game on several occasions, and I just love it. I'm the only person I know to have played this game longer than 1 or 2 characters, let alone beat it. Everyone that doesn't play this game is missing out.

Don't bother

Normally I love RPGs, and Square is one of the best developers, but this game was horrible. You can take seven different characters through the game, but after I finished with just one character I said forget it. It takes too long to get from point A to B and half the time you can't even figure out where point B is or what you should do there. Just goes to show that you should always rent before buying.

Minor problems

I thought this game was fun for a few reasons. The first one would be the many characters. Each character has thier own story line that really makes the game entertaining. The second would be the tuypes of characters. From prodigies to robots are able to be contraolled. My final reason is interactivity. It lets you go anywhere you want [almost]. There is one problem I had though, it is that I played a character twice[lost my saved files] but the second time I couldn't trigger a needed event that I triggered last time. But all in all a great game.

One of the Best

While the graphics may not be the best Square has to offer, the idea is fantastic. It has an excellent battle system and more than 140 hours of gameplay. With seven characters to choose from, each with their own abilities and completely customizable, there is more variety than any other game out there. It is not surprising that it never made it to the mainstream, as it is the introduction to American gaming of a non-linear style of playing. SaGa Frontier II promises to be better, with improved graphics and less complicated battle systems.

Greatest game I ever played!!!

Being a big fan of RPG's, I was curious about the 7 different characters, so I got this game. I absolutely LOVE it!!! It is really big, and yet gives you the freedom to let your characters wander and grow. I especially liked the idea of team combat and learning new skills. I thought most of the story lines were very good, and I stayed completely entertained. It was challenging, huge and engrossing. I definitely would recommend it for a serious RPG game player that doesn't always like the "controlled" game play alot of other games offer.
