A overall great game, as is expected from Call Of Duty

CoD 3 is a fantastic new addition to the Call of Duty series. I myself have been a fan of the series since the earliest PC versions, and now to the latest X-box 360 versions. Call of Duty 3 cannot be compared to the other Call of Duty's however, because it is an entirely different type of game as compared to the first and second CoDs.
Call of Duty 1 (the original) was great, and Call of Duty 2 was a fabulous addition to the first. Call of Duty 3 though, is nothing like the first 2. It's gameplay is very different. It is not the typical 1st person shooter, but instead a "follow in this soldeir's footsteps" sort of game (in lack of a better description). As you fight as a Polish Bradley tanker trying to free the homeland, a British SAS trooper fighting alongside the French Resistance, American infantrymen trying to stay alive while under the command of a half crazy sergeant, and Canadian regular getting caught up in some extreme combat conditions, you will find this game is more like a giant story you play through, atleast more so than most other WWII games.
As usual, Call of Duty presents an incredibly realistic experience. The game is truly "as real as it gets," from the historic battles, to the type of rifle you are using, Call of Duty restores and lets you relive history. It once again blows other fantasy WWII games like Medal of Honor and Battlefield 1942 into the dust.
The graphics are very good, historical content phenominal, and gaming experience extraordinary.
I am quite pleased with the game and reccommend it to all who appreciate a overall great game.

Could have been better

I would consider myself a casual video game player and I finished this game in no time flat even with the overly long scenes that play between the levels of the game that you cannot skip through. I was highly disappointed that it was so short. It also seemed to have a lot of bugs where you get trapped by the terrain- I had to restart a checkpoint once because I could not get the soldier out. The AI was not very good either as the other allied soldiers would get in your way all the time or be nowhere in sight. To be fair though, the graphics and sound effects were amazing defintely on par with the best of the genre. It would be worth renting, but is a lousy buy. I recommend Gears of War or Rainbow Six Vegas for superior all around games.

I get hours and hours of enjoymet out of this one. Really great graphics, easy to learn and get into it, easy and intuetive controlls, great x-box live games. Even better than COD 2. - All arround a really great value.

If you like World War 2 games, this is a must buy

Call of Duty 3 utilizes the same identical gameplay as Call of Duty 2. If you like part 2, I would definitely add this to your buy list for Christmas.

Let me break this down to categories:-

1. Graphics - 4.5 of 5 - Good eye candy game with lots of explosion everywhere. Video games players would appreciate the details put into the game.

2. Sound -4 of 5 - We all remember the loud and realistic sound from Call of Duty 2 right? Well, guess what? It is the same here with bigger explosions and more things flying around left and right.

3. Replay value 4 of 5 - After beating the single player mode, you can head on to the multiplayer mode and challenge a couple of people. Definitely a plus.

4. 1 player Campaign - 4 of 5 - Your team isn't totally smart. Same bug as part 2. There are acts where your teammates would just keep running into the mp-40 and get gunned down like sausages. Other than that, the occasional cover fire is there to help you advance. The vast majority of the campaign requires you to single handedly gun down Nazis with your guns. Sometimes it feels like you goto solo. Don't expect your A.I. too help you out too much.

5. Multiplayer - 5 of 5 - The high point of this game. Get a live subscription and let the killing begin.

6. Difficulty - 4 of 5 - It is not that hard. Just take it slow and play with the same strategies you used in Call of Duty 2 and you should be able to beat this game in 10-12 hours of game play.

7 Overall 4 of 5 - A good game to own. A definitely a must have game for the World War video games advocate. It has gorgeous graphics, amazing sound as always, and the multi player is definitely a plus to give this one a must buy for Christmas.

Fun game but too many glitches.

Multiplayer games on Xbox Live are fun until it freezes or disconnects for no reason. They should fix these things before releaesing the game. The single-player game is mediocre at best.

They blew it

This game could have been--SHOULD have been perfect. COD 2 was so close and they only forgot one thing--cooperative play, specifically via split screen. Why any developer would not add a split screen co-op is beyond me, especially when these guys received some SERIOUS negative feedback for not including it on their last game. So did they listen? No, so very sadly, they ignored their customers. So Call of Duty 3 is a solid game that fell short because these guys didn't feel that customer feedback was important.

Call of Duty 3 is here....

Call of Duty 3 is sweet, the graphics quality- near GEARS OF WAR, and weapons are sooooo much better. The cons are that - it took me 6hrs. to win, sounds repeat constantly, and you can't skip the annoying historical screens. My rating for this game is a 4.5/ out of 5

Afer playing Call f Duty 2 on the Xbox 360 last year I had very high hopes for the next installment.First of all the graphics are a step up from CoD2 but not that much better. The sound is an amazing part of the experience as I found myself ducking when things wre blowing up. The new timed button pressing events are fun at first but quickly become repetitive. The game is only about 10 hours long. They tried to insert a story this time which is very forgettable. There also dont seem to be as many options as far as branching paths. CoD2 seemed less linear. I had fun w/the game but unless you play online, I would wait for the price to come down by 20 before buying.

Wow, what a great step up from Call Of Duty 2. This game on Xbox 360 is great, the graphics are a big step up, and the gameplay has quite a few added features.

The graphics, had to be one of the biggest step ups in this game. There is more going on everywhere, which uses alot of the 360's potential for its graphical abilities. When playing this game, first off youll notice the deep enviromental look, the player models are definately enhanced in this game also. Explosions, just everything graphically is enhanced, a major plus.

The sound is again great, just like the previous Call Of Duty games. The music first of all, matches the scenes perfectly with whats going on in the game, plus that old World War music. Another plus for the sound, is when in battle, you always hear your allies yelling and shouting about something, notifying you of enemy presence or just yelling at the enemy. Great sound effects from things blowing up, guns firing, and soldiers make the sound in this game a major plus.

The controls, again really easy to handle. Theres some added features in this game, that werent in Call Of Duty 2. But ill explain a bit later. But basically, the controls in this game are exactly the same as the controls on Call Of Duty 2.

Overall, Call Of Duty 3 is really fun just like COD 2 was. The single player takes you across campaigns spanning from the US Army, Polish, Canadian and English. Therefore, you get a taste of the action from quite a few different sides. I think that the single player campaign could have been quite a bit longer than it was, but it was decent length. Some additions I think were good in this game was the hand to hand combat in single player. When you come around a corner, a nazi will jump at you with his rifle and try to attack you, you can push him back with it and eventually hit him with his gun and take him out. Doing so, youll need to press certain buttons to finish it. Another addition, was the bomb planting. You have to also press certain buttons and move the thumbsticks plant them. In COD 3 you can also use Mortar guns, its a bit difficult sometimes but you can catch on quite easily.

The multi-player in this game is crazy and a HUGE step up from Call Of Duty 2 big time. You can play unranked games, and ranked games. Everything in gameplay, is just so balanced, the shooting and the game types it makes it an overall enjoyable experience. Despite this, there is quite a few bugs that have plagued the online play. Sometimes, you wont even be able to join an unranked game because it says you cannot connect when there is no reason why you shouldnt be able too. But if your looking for ranked games, you should have no issues.

Overall, I highly reccomend this game to Call Of Duty fans, or First Person Shooter Fans. If your familiar with COD 2, youll catch on to this game easy.

Short and tedious

It just seems like there are too many "cut scenes" that you have to sit through before you get to the game play. Then the game play itself gets done quickly and before you know it, the game is finished. I do like the fact that you can choose different strategies to go with. But I really liked Call of Duty 2 much better.
