I loved this game, the graphics are great, game play is very good, and more of all you get the Metal Gear Solid Cd with it. More about the game now. it is very good but also very short it took me less then 2 hours to beat it and it really isnt a game to play more then 3 times i would say. the graphics are the best that i have seen on the ps2 and the mechs are wonderful to just look at. Over all this game is a 4 star all the way.

This was one of the first games I bought for my PS2, and it definitely didn't dissapoint. Z.O.E is fast, fun and the graphics are simply awesome.

Although at first glance Z.O.E seems like nothing more than a Virtua On clone, it is actually much more than that, and features a completely different control scheme. Zone of the Enders is completely mission based; you travel from location to location destroying enemy mechs while trying to keep civilian damage to a minimum. The story unfolds as you complete each task through anime-style rendered cut-scenes. Don't expect an amazing story-line though... the plot is a little weak, but that doesn't keep the game from being fun.

The battle system is easy to pick up, the gameplay moves at a fast pace and the story is easy to follow; all of which makes for a very fun (if not a bit shallow) game.

(and Z.O.E. also includes the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo... how can you go wrong!?)

Z.O.E? Oh, yes Z.O.E....

Oh, I forgot that MGS2 demo comes with Z.O.E.!!! Seriously, ZOE has pretty good graphics, excellent controls, mediocre story line, and a fairly moderate replayability (lets not even talk about how short it is)... put all this together and you have a average game. But it's the closest thing to being in an Japanese anime that I have experienced, which gives a boost to the game. Now let us talk about the "real" game that comes in this package. YES, I'M TALKING ABOUT METAL GEAR SOLID 2... Simply "THE" game that lets us have a glimps of what the future has waiting for us. This demo alone is shear perfection, let me refrase, this demo is alone is the perfect game up to date. There is innovation in every aspect, and the detail is so scary that when you look (with the zooming lenses) at the tranquilizing darts that you shoot at the guards, you can see an inscription on it. Simply unbelievable, it would take me hours to describe the detail, love and shear perfection placed in this game, AND IT'S NOT EVEN FINISHED!!! If you're in to Japanese anime, then buy it for ZOE. If you're looking for the real gaming experience of tomorrow, then buy it for MGS2. If not, just buy it for both, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!

Personally, I'm sick of hearing that, and the ever annoying "we have moved to battle position" Other than the monotone ADA computer aboard your mech, it's a halfway decent game. The idea is sound enough. I beat it in 3h 16, because of having to go back to places and find programs. The fighting is pretty fun, but there should be just a little more moves you can do. The camera is iffy at best. The only time you get a straight ahead view is if you let go of the left shroom. The right shroom is to slow for the 360 degree view you sometimes need. It's a halfway decent game though. Maybe if it included use of different mechs to get through the game, it would have been more fun, that and some ground targets maybe? Like many people wrote before, I only rented this game to play metal gear 2. That demo is more fun to play than the full version of ZOE. In the demo, you get to pitch people off the side of the boat, tranquilize a guard and if another guard is around, and notices the sleeping guard, he'll go up to the sleeping guard and kick em! The locker room is the best place to have fun in. Here's a fun trick. there are two pics of japenese hotties posted on the locker doors. the one on the left hand side, if you flatten on the wall, and knock on her privates, it will immediately summon guards. leave the locker open, and hide in the locker across from it that isn't locked. You'll see the guards come in and look at the pic, and get excited! Also, go into one of the lockers with pics, and hide in it. Now tap L1 and you'll kiss the photo! Yes, you can kiss her privates. Some other little tricks: -If you kick a guard outside next to a railing, he'll get kicked off, and fall to his death. -You can shoot fire extinguishers. I don't know why. -Use the box, there is a wet one, and a dry one, WARNING! you will always get caught if you get too close to a guard. -If you beat the demo, you get a passcode to enter on kcej.com. It's all in japanese, but you can find where to enter it. My score was 36864 on hard. Have fun!

"A colony hijack!? You're our last hope!" - A dramatic action adventure game in which you feel and experience the spectacular story while fighting the enemy in space with Jehuty -- a gigantic humanoid weapon "orbital frame". Can you save the space colony from the terrorist hijackers?

Does not include Metal Gear Solid 2 demo.

The 22nd Century, Solar System. The inhabitancy area of human beings has gone way beyond the lunar orbit and has expanded to the surface of Mars. Humans have also started to reach out to Jupiter for the procurement of natural resources.

The laborers work at the space colony "Antilia" which is located on the satellite orbit of Jupiter. These people living at the "End of the World" are referred to as "Enders".

Leo Stenbuck, an Ender boy and introvert living on Antilia, was forced to accompany his bully friends to the UN Space Force (UNSF) facility to steal from the junkyard and gets caught. At the same time, the fanatical military regime of Mars known as Z.O.E. takes military action in the form of a colony hijack. Antilia instantly turns into a battlefield. The other boys lose their lives right in front of Leo. Leo cannot deny that he has thought that "now that these guys are gone, I'd never get bullied again." He then blames himself for not being able to save them. He panics and

I love the concept of this game. Big robot that blows other big robots up. Set in the not to distant future on a space colony orbiting Jupeter, a young boy named Leo is tossed into the middle of a war that he wants nothing to do with. Now it is up to him to save his home and the peopel that are still alive. OK now that the good stuff is out of the way I can tell you the only downer..... the ending I was left deeply disapointed with the ending. This, however, is not reason enough to now buy this great game.

...the Gundam games, Zone of the Enders dominates!

I once tried the game "Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front" and it was quite good, if not complicated and difficult. But "Zone of the Enders" puts that game to utter shame. The powers and weapons that you receive for the Orbital Frame (giant robot) are awesome and the way it moves is incredible. You gain control of the Orbital Frame called Jehuty and you basically battle against a whole bunch of other Orbital Frames. Most of them aren't that challenging at first, but later the enemies receive upgrades and become considerably tougher. The leaders are a whole other story.

There are about 5 other Orbital Frames that Jehuty must face off against: Tempest, Tyrant, Nebula, Neith, and finally Anubis. Tempest and Tyrant are very large and powerful and Nebula is kind of like a huge jet Orbital Frame. Neith and Anubis however are very similar to Jehuty: bipedal, very fast, powerful, etc. The story of the game, which is quite good, revolves around a young boy named Leo Stenbuck who lives in a space colony outside of Jupiter called Antilia. After he accidentally gains control of Jehuty, he has to deliver the machine to the people who created it in order to keep an invading army of Orbital Frames from acquiring it. Leo then meets up with his remaining friend Celvice and along with Jehuty's AI system codenamed ADA, faces off against the invading army while also defending innocent civilians from destruction.

Another good thing about this game is the controls. They are very easy to remember and are not complicated at all. The only thing you should know is that to use the special weapons you acquire throughout the game, all you have to do is press the circle button (the game doesn't really tell you how to do that unless you read the manual). Jehuty is much more powerful than any Zaku or Gouf you may control in those Gundam games and is not nearly as difficult to control. The only thing I don't like about this game is how you have to go back and forth basically all the time in order to accomplish missions, and sometimes you might find yourself wandering about thinking "what was I supposed to do?" or "where do I look for that program?". As long as you keep your cool and read the objectives and hints listed in the MISSION area of the pause menu, then you'll do just fine.

Now, I plan on getting "Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner", since the ending of this great, yet extremely short, game kind of leaves you hanging. Chiao!
