It's not about the Gameplay

This game is all about the story and the animation. The gameplay is basic enough and it's basically the same throughout the entire game. The drawing point is the story and characters and the wonderful cut scene animations that are amazing. The gameplay is fun, I've always wanted to pilot a mech like this, but for me once I saw that first cut scene I was hooked. If you like the anime style, this game is for you.

A Highly Underrated Game

This game is so highly underrated. A lot of people bought the game because of the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo disc. But those like me who actually played the game found a gem! If you like an arcade type shooter/hack and slash game, then this one is for you. The graphics is just incredible. The controls smooth. The gameplay is addictive. Although it is relatively short it can be replayed for higher scores not to mention the two-player versus mode. If you like Metal Gear Solid 2 then you owe it to yourself to try this game from the same producer.

What is the japanese obsession with teenage boys saving the world? seriously. Its unrealistic. Sure its a robot game. But think of it as a future game. In the future little kids would be able to defeat army people? I doubt it. This game was fun and pretty and cool. But it was short and kind of repetitive.

I love the concept of this game. Big robot that blows other big robots up. Set in the not to distant future on a space colony orbiting Jupeter, a young boy named Leo is tossed into the middle of a war that he wants nothing to do with. Now it is up to him to save his home and the peopel that are still alive. OK now that the good stuff is out of the way I can tell you the only downer..... the ending I was left deeply disapointed with the ending. This, however, is not reason enough to now buy this great game.

Aaah! It's a Gundam.....um...Jehuty!

The game's a complete rip-off of the storyline of Mobile Suit Gundam, with a whiny little Amaro Rei clone named Leo Stenbuck (what's with these Ender guys and animal themed names? Are they descended from Native Americans?)fighting in a 'Side'-like colony atmosphere against the pseudo-Zeon forces of Bahram, clashing repeatedly with the even more feminine (though that's reasonable since she's a woman)version of Char the Red Comet. It even abruptly ends like MSG(that's Mobile Suit Gundam, not Metal Gear Solid or Mono Sodium Glutemate!) to be resolved in a movie or in this case, the sequel(s). That's fine though, as Gundam games are more akin to what the Gundam leaves in it's wake after a battle with Zakus...garbage. Konami almost captures the thrills of giant mech games with fast paced dynamic combat that's so easy to control (think action games like Dynasty Warriors 3 combined with Sega's Virtual ON series with a bit of Sega's NiGHTS thrown in for good measure)that any squashed flyboy can feel like the Red Baron when they pilot Jehuty. The difficulty is a little imbalanced at times, being a total breeze one moment and tongue biting hard at other times entirely due to mission objectives but then even the difficult missions become easy once the player figures out what to do (such as defusing bombs while fighting high level enemies at the end) so it never gets to be too tough. That's not the biggest problem with the game. The seemingly endless repetition (though the game can be handily completed in 5-8 hours) is, by which I don't mean fighting the same 3 types of enemies (besides the occassional fantastic boss battle) but the horrid scavenger hunts for items and the constant back-tracking to previous areas of the already-small-in-comparison-to-Jehuty colony levels. The game's a blast to play for a while, but I suggest that you buy it with the sequel (especially if the now useless demo of Metal Gear Solid 2 isn't packaged with it.)so the ending doesn't cheese you off like it did to some people. I bought both at the same time so I don't care.

rent it

You can beat this game in about four to four and a half hours. Great graphics and plot. Good voice acting. Hard. The main character leo, is the worst character for this game. A wimpy little vengeful child. The music is awesome and so is the level design. Very fun to dive around and flip and use that to destroy enemies. There are quite a few subweapons, but the game is too short to enjoy them. Rent it and you can beat it.

This is my favorite action game EVER, though I haven't yet purchased ZOE2 (i'm still trying to recover from Christmas expenses.) There are no action games that match the speed and energy that radiate from the gameplay of this PS2 MASTERPIECE. This mech game is sure to please any adventure game enthusiast that is looking for a quick quest. Why do I say quick? It is unfortunate to say that the game is rather short. The first time I beat it, it took me about 5 hours, and I've played adventure games that have taken twice as long, and even longer than that. It is very sad that such a brilliant piece of gaming art had to turn out to be so terse; however it is definately worth every penny that one may spend to purchase this game.

Bottom line.....this game is GOOOOOOOOOOD!!! SUPERB!!! PRIME!!!
It will provide you with a very smashing good time!!!!

Great, but extremely short...

This game was excellent. It has an intriguing storyline, with incredible graphics that just make your eyeballs pop out of your head. It has great controls, and give you almost everything you want in an action game. But, the cons are that the game is very short, and the battles can get slightly repetitive. Other than that, this game is one of my favorites. Don't buy it, but rent it, it is that short.

I feel robbed after playing this.

Well, when I first loaded up the game, it seems good. I really got it for the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo, but I figured I would be playing the actual game too. What can you expect from konami? Great games. Suikoden and MGS. However, why did Konami do it. Why did they sell us out. MGS 2 is really short, and this game proves to be even shorter.

The combat is great. You got slash and attack. You get a second mech, but its just fun. Moving around feels fluid, you will see your legs leave burn marks on the ground if u glide on them, and it also feels great to just traverse around. However the arenas are usually really small, so you won't have much to explore. Anyways at first I had no clue what to do on any place, but I soon figured it out. The real problem is how they did it. You do stupid little tasks with your ship thingy, all the while hearing about how this enormous battle on mars is going to take place, at the same time you are stuck with a robot who is learning to be human. Which part sounds familiar to you? Practically every robot story is about how the robot in the end usually grows to feel emotions. It is really cheesy. Then it starts to get boring and old.

So you finally meet up with the big bad guy? YOU CAN'T BEAT HIM. YOU CANNOT BEAT THE LAST BAD GUY. How terrible is that. Its like your fighting him, then you can't do anyting against him. So you go to this place. Get ready for the battle of mars, wrong. They just end it. It is terrible. The game lasted about 4 hours, mabye 2 if I sped through. Almost as horrible as the ending, is the bonuses. Theres basically nothing you will get after acomplishing the game. No upgraded mech weapons or anything, so I fail to see any point in replaying it. Where the game does good in graphics and fighting, it fails miserably in every other possible aspect.

SWEET..... BUT SHORT

When I first saw the second one,I wanted to get it.But instead I got the first one.Luckily it was used.First of all,the graphics are the best I've seen for a while. You can fly, decsend and ascend as much as you want, and perform devastating attacks. But the gameplay is so short. If you know what you're doing, the game will only last for less than an hour. The same moves will get boring after a while.Even the enemies are the same. This is NOT,I repeat,NOT a worthy "M" game.It should be rated Teen.Parents,no living thing that everyone sees dies, even though it looks like it.Instead of getting the first one, skip to the 2nd one.
