Best Lord of the Rings game...for now

Hey i don't know what that Gamer from the United Kingdom was talking about but this game is awesome. The graphics on Xbox are incredible and eye popping, the sounds are loud and exciting, and the extra movies and characters are great to see and play. Look, i don't wanna make waves but the secret character is too...ya know...simple. He should be a little more original. Other than that this game rocks and it gets better and better after you play it. Especially when you try to do it without combos or modifyed arrows/axes. Now that's challenging. I Recommend this game and am wanting to get the next one. LORD OF THE RINGS: TWO TOWERS ROCKS!

Awesome game!!!

This game is fantastic. I tore right though it (up into the last *very* difficult level). With the exception of the last level, it's not too hard, not too easy. The graphics are great, the gameplay is great. There are good combos to buy and execute and you have the option of playing one of three characters (Legolas, Gimli or Aragorn) and can swich as you go level by level.
I have no complaints about it at all...5 stars all the way!

Not merely a hack 'n slash.

This game was designed and very much succeeds in giving you that immersive feeling of actually participating in the quest to destroy The Ring (vs. just watching the movie). The game does this by alternating back and forth between the movie clips and arcade action. One of the bonuses of this game is that you get a chance to experience Fanghorn Forest as well as Rohan, places that you didn't really get to experience all that much in the movie (and that was merely watching the movie). Some of the settings are done quite well. Running thru Amon Hen, fighting orcs in Balin's Tomb, kicking down ladders at the Hornburg are all like the movie with the same amount of intensity. Fighting the Uruk-hai (there are different kinds) in this game is about as intense a battle as any I've faced in a video game, mainly because you don't have a SAM, RPG or submachine gun at your disposal, and they just keep coming at you. The game designers just did an excellent job with the resiliency of the monsters, particularly the goblins and Uruk-hai. Seeing one get back up from the corner of your eye when you're busy fighting another one gets the blood flowing.

This game is not just a hack 'n slash adventure. You will get knocked down A LOT by some very aggressive enemies, so it does require learning how to block, kick, jump back, shoot arrows and use different combos in order to kill the enemy. Because of this, it makes the game that much richer. This game would be boring if it just required straight button mashing. If you're a more casual gamer, this game can be challenging, but should be possible on EASY mode and with a little practice.

One of the best games ever!!!

I am a LOTR fan and I love this game. It makes you feel like you are in the story. When you begin the game it first shows a short clip of the movie. You then begin fighting as Isilder.(Note that the begining levels are from the fellowship.) After that you are Aragorn and you fight the raiths on weathertop. Through the rest of the game you can choose to be Aragorn, Gimli or Legolas. When you finish a level your fighting points add up and you can purchase new moves and weapons with them. the graphics are amazing and look a lot like the characters. Some levels can be hard but you can choose if you want to play hard, medium or easy. The game follows the story line well. Some things are added but without it the game could probably be beaten in a hour. most of the game has you killing orcs, uruk-hai and trolls but what else are you going to do, look for hobbit footprints and talk to everyone. In basically evey X-box game you are killig something. At least there is no blood. Overall, this game is wonderful. I would recomend buying this game if you want to have a blast. I think this is one of the best games ever.

I am playing this game on easy and I have gotten through most of the levels without trouble, but now I am on the Breached Wall, the part where the orc runs into the wall with the bomb strapped to him and blows the whole thing sky high. Then you have to sit there by yourself and kill about ten billion orcs, some with bombs and some with shields. After that (if you even make it that far) a catupult will come in. No matter what I do, it takes out the door. I can't even destroy it fast enough, it just sits there and shoots at the door and then it breaks and I have to start the whole level over again. I have gotten so frustrated that I am not even going to play it anymore, that's how bad it is. Other than that, okay game i would probably rent it because of the short length.

'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' is an awesome game for the Xbox! The graphics, sound, and gameplay are all incredible! The plot in this game follows very closely to 'The Lord of the Rings' movie trilogy and the cut-scenes are wonderful to watch. 'Two Towers' is an acition-packed/hack-n-slash game that is very fun to play and is extremely addictive. I highly recommend you buy 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' video game for the Microsoft Xbox!

I can't believe how fun this game is!

If you are a huge LOTRs fan and will buy anything that has lord of the rings written on it then you should buy this especially if you like video games. I first bought this when I went on a shopping spree for Xbox games, and I thought, I like the books, movies, why not? It blew me away. (However, if you hated the movies go somewhere else because this game is based on the movies). You can play as either Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli. There is a also a bonus level where you play as a bonus character, I haven't beaten the game yet so I don't know who it is. Now this is a cool game but it can get a little tough at parts because you get surrounded by orks, the only other thing that irked me about this game was that you really can't explore, if you go off the path you just run in place. And you really want to explore too because there is great graphics. Does anyone know who the bonus character is? I'm thinking it might be either Frodo or Gandalf. Have you ever been playing a game and the voices of the characters are really high pitched or just plain crappy? Well don't worry, they got the actors from the film for the voices, really cool. Plus as you go along as you beat levels they unlock interviews with the actors and makers of the game. Great game, except for a few things this is awesome, if you like LOTRs buy it.

Awful

One of the worst games I've ever played. It's less of a game really than just thinly-veiled "movie marketing". Anyone who is fooled by this over-priced advertisment deserves to have their $ taken from them. Rent it and see for yourself, but please don't buy it. Save your money for something less exploitive and more fun. There are dozens of better choices out there.
