I can't understand some gamers

Seriously, this game on any system, not just the 360, is not fun to control and there's no feeling of accomplishment when you pass each mission. The feel of the character during movement and shooting is inexcusably remedial, very slow, very tedious to aim, and like others said it takes far to much effort to drop 1 guy.
The game reminds me of a poor man's Red Faction 2 for XBOX with noticeably better graphics, but as far as 360 goes, the other 6 games I currently own surpass PDZ in the graphics department.

So the reason for my title is that for those who game this game 5 stars...where exactly are you standards? I can think of at least a dozen shooters off the top of my head for the regular XBOX that I'd rather be playing than PDZ, and Doom 3 in my opinion has better grahpics than this game. Halo, Halo 2, Doom 3, Project Snowblind, Mace Griffin...the list goes on and on, and obviously Quake 4 and COD 2 for the 360 trump this game.

Do yourself a favor, even if you love spy-type storylines and you're in need of a shooter, rent it first and you'll see what I mean. It's maybe worth 10 bucks when the price comes down, but definitely not worth 40-50, and most definitely not a launch console seller.

I know everyone has their own opinion, but giving this game 5 stars, even if your basing it on the so-called innovation this game brings (which it doesn't), you skew the standard of a shooter so far in the wrong direction it baffles me.

This game is for Five year olds...cheezy graphics....

This game is terrible. True it is sort of new and inventive. But gameplay is terrible, graphics are equiv. to regular Xbox. I have purchased this game in package just to get the Xbox 360. Also stay away from ridge racer (terrible driving game, the worst i have ever played) driving physics are non existent and gameplay is designed for five year olds. Perfect Dark Zero is also terrible. All of these games have received great reviews. I dont know how? All have graphics dated back to the original Xbox!!!! Hope this helps!

graphics are substandard for a next gen game theres a lot of flaws like when you move alot of times you can see things actually getting drwan along the way, the control is only par and there are alot of bugs like getting stuck in some places and theres alot of the doll effect on the enemies, safe yourself the aspirin and pass up the copy of this waste of time.

Perfect Dark N64 was way better

First off, its almost 2008, and I just bought this game. I bought it because it was so cheap that it was practically free. Good thing too, it sucks!

Xbox 360 games now have graphics that totally blow this game out of the water. The AI is a joke, and the controls are, well, its hard to describe but basically they suck. It just doesn't feel right.

The biggest disappoint I have is that this game taints my wonderful memories of PD for N64. Now that was an awesome game. Playing PD N64 with my siblings was the best. The bots, the weapons, the levels, it was great. The controls were so much better on N64 too.

Its too late to appreciate this game, too many other excellent jaw-dropping games are out... buy something like Halo or GoW.

Trash.

That word explains this game to a T. The Graphics are Gamecube, the Story is retarded, & the multiplayer is Embarrassing. Why in God's name would Microsoft put out a game that clearly was not anywhere next to finished? This is a poor excuse for a FPS. There are way better games out there; Halo 3, COD 2,3,4, Orange Box, Fear, Bioshock,.... Avoid this game at all costs.

Dull, irritating, predictable. A crying shame.

I am a HUGE FPS fan, and have played nearly every major game in this genre since the original Castle Wolfenstein - and while not a fan of console versions of what essentially is a genre best left in the PC arena, the original Perfect Dark on the Nintendo 64 was a spanker of a game.

I was thrilled when I read that a sequel was to be released, and rushed out to buy it, fondly remembering those late-nate PD gaming sessions, now to be converted into HD glory, with more features and thrills.

I tried so hard to like this game, I really did. However, beyond the hype and opinions of those who have never experienced what a great FPS should be like, here are the facts of life.

1 - Awkward aiming. Unlike most console shooters, PDZ requires near-perfect aiming - there is not much aim-correction for using the pad, and you play the whole game thinking 'I wish I had a mouse and WSAD keys..', which seems what the enemy must have, because they have less than no trouble getting headshot after headshot on you.

2 - Crap storyline. Cheesy, dull, terrible dialogue. Only the youngest of gamers would be excited with any story-based content on offer. The stereotypes are on display and proud of their corny lines, reciting them with sarcastic gusto. Cut scenes soon are skipped.

3 - 'No jump' feature. Sounds silly, especially as the original didn't have a jump button, but with the new levels and their detailed environments, you might find yourself screaming at the TV when your hard-earned skin-of-your-teeth cinematic escape is marred by clipping an inch of your leg on a small rock and taking a busload of fire in the process.

4 - bipolar AI. Enemies and friends alike switch moods between deciding to be tripping, hobbling cannon fodder to head-shot assassins. There is no feel of realism, no sense of game world stability, and the game never levels out between ridiculously easy and so hard the only way to move around a level is to perpetually roll.

5 - Rolling\Cover. On that note, the 3rd person feature is a waste of time. The 'roll' feature, presumably, exists to help one stylistically evade the enemy's fire, but you never seem quick enough to dodge the bullets well enough. On harder modes, you'll find the only way to conserve health is to become this constant gymnastic ball, pausing only to inevitably take damage while you return fire. The 'cover' feature is awfull, and exists only on selected scenery - little help when you actually NEED it. It generally feels like a useless addition for the game-enhancing-cinema-style-experience ethos that designers really ought to dump. The problem is that it has a split second pause before taking effect - and that you have to be perfectly in position to do so. One problem of this is if you do it in the wrong place, you actually expose yourself to the enemy and face the opposite way - a hail of enemy fire later and you're frustrated meat. Lastly, once you're actually in cover, you have a second's window to lean out, aim, and get off at a maximum 2 shots before the guy you're shooting at clocks you.. and don't forget the 2 or so guys coming around you to mash you up in close combat. After a few of these situations, you'll be using this feature rarely.

6 - Dull multiplayer. I'm sorry but it's true. PDZ multiplayer feels half-paced and as an afterthought. There are a handful of options compared to the pages of game customisation the original had - eg. slow time, game modes, etc.. None of this for PDZ.

7 - No innovation whatsoever. Now THIS is the area I wanted the game to shine in, excusing the rest of its problems. Sadly, its a bog-standard affair that never excites and thrills the way its predecessor did.

There are other things I could mention, but honestly, the list goes on. Graphics are NOT the be-all end all, and I never experienced one moment of genuine excitement at the gameplay or game world. It does not immerse the play the way, say, Condemned does, having you gripping the controller in real thrill.

All in all, roll on Halo 3.

It's all very shiny and dull

Goldeneye is the single best gameing experience i have ever had and knowing that this is from the same people that brought me that wonderful game just makes me very sad. This whole game feels rushed and unfinished and considering how long it was in development for is quite frankly not on. The single player game is very boring, you'll find yourself falling asleep by the third level. The AI is appaling and to add insult to injury they for some reason felt the need to put arrows on the ground to help you on your quest. I find it insulting to think that Rare feel that gamers can be so dum that they need arrows to tell them where to go, someone at Rare needs a slap. Another thing that annoys me is that you can't jump for some reason, i mean you could even jump in the original Doom. Quite frankly Rare need a good hard kick up the arse. Apart from the fairly good multi-player game there isn't anything else good i have to say about this dissapointing mess. Do yourself a favour, avoid the rubbish and buy Call of Duty.

Complete Disappointment

Great graphics, but that's just about it. I was very disappointed with this game. It had so much potential. I read one reviewer claim that Perfect Dark Zero was as good as Halo...completely untrue. I'm trading it in for Ghost Recon.

Everything that could have been done wrong with a new FPS that would have the outstanding potential of an XBOX 360 at it's arsenal was done wrong.

Originally I had a feeling that this game would ressurect the tired old FPS industry for console gamers. The developers had more than enough time to come up with a gripping plot line, and at the same time exploit innovative in game dynamics that keep you wondering what waits for you around the corner.

This game had me wondering "Why in the hell am I shooting at a bunch of stupid robot spiders?" at the very beginning, but I decided to have faith in the game and what would come if I dealt with this obscenely tedious first level.

In this game if you shoot someone square in the forehead, they buckle in place for a split second and then resume their tactics as if a bullet had not just ripped through their skull. Shoot them in the neck, you see a spray of blood and they die, so at least the developers know something about the human anatomy. Whether a bullet bounces off of body armor or tears through flesh, your enemies will still react with the same booty dance of pain.

The game shows how little the developers cared that they were making a game for the XBOX 360, as it looks like it could easily have been on the N64. The game graphically is a short step above turok 3. The enemies will run to a position where they can cover and shoot you with the same basic run motion, it looks as if they're running with moon boots.

The game throws you stupid little missions, where you're held in a pretty tiny area. Not for lack of modern day video game technology, but for lack of the creativity needed to design a level in a first person shooter that rivals a level from wolfenstein 3D.

What is supposed to set this game apart from games like shadow warrior, or doom 3 is the fact that all around you is an ongoing in depth plot. The plot for this game is that you're chasing a "bad guy", and that's about it.

The big bad guy from this game is difficult to spot, mainly because he isn't given any kind of real introduction and he looks like a moron.

All in all this game punished me for ever investing money in rare, and I am eternally sorry for thinking that microsoft gave a damn about a gamers right to have fun.

Do not invest money into rare, microsoft deserves a second chance I guess. When the playstation 3 comes out, my 360 is going right in the trash.

She's pretty, but that is about it.

PDZ has very weak gameplay. It's just not a fun game to me. The controls are rubbish and the reticle has to be so spot on, that it's just plain tedious. Maybe I am a HALO NERD, that's fine, but I will wait for the return of the MASTER CHIEF. Ms. Dark is pretty, but she lacks heart, agility, and controllability. I think we are reaching the point in game development where companies are surrendering gameplay for graphics. PDZ makes me sad.
