How can u judge a game when u haven't even played it?

Honestly people if you want to just goof around online go ahead and buy AC. When your ready to play a real online game it's prolly time to move on to Everquest. EQ offers a huge world with tons of characters and classes. Stop trying to invest your points in melee with a weenie human. Get a troll and bash some heads! EQ doesn't limit it's people to a linear world with no real flair. Experience the real thing buy EQ today simply search for Everquest on the above toolbar and buy your copy today!

Friends don't let friends play Asherons Call!

I played this for awhile because a friend had it but it was really boring. There were some good moments but it was mostly extremely tedious and worthless. Worst game I have bought it awhile and to think I actually payed monthly for it. I will not waste my money on another MMORPG again. BAH!

Great Game

I've been playing Asheron's Call since December of 1999, and been having fun the whole time. While they call this an expansion pack, it's actually a complete copy. You don't need to buy the original Asheron's Call to install and use this. And if you already have Asheron's Call, all you really need from this pack is the code on the CD case... you've already downloaded all the files.

The CD contains lots of extra information, including a synopsis of the events in Dereth (to the date of the release), and a besitary/glossary that tells you more about the creatures of Dereth, it's history, and it's turbulent geography.

Asheron's Call is a social game; if you just want to play by yourself then I really recommend getting a stand-alone game. While it's quite possible to play all alone (and you will from time to time), what's the most fun is to fellow up with friends and go adventuring. Don't have friends who play? Be polite and friendly and you'll have some before you know it! My allegiance has even met several times in real life, and maintains a message board so we can chat outside of the game.

I do not recommend this game for anyone under 15. While the majority of players are friendly and nice, a minority get joy out of picking on others, especially the young. While it's nothing you won't find in any high school anywhere, younger children may not be able to handle it.

If you're worried about being too OLD, then stop. The youngest player I know of is seven, and plays under close supervision. The oldest player I know of is EIGHTY, and still going strong.

Come join us in Dereth. Can't you hear Asheron calling you from that purple swirly thing over there?

I thought AC: Dark Majesty was the best....

until I bought Dark Age of Camelot! If you are a straight 90% of the time solo player stay with AC: Dark Majesty. But if you prefer to play in a group hunt format with guilds and skills other than fighting such as sword making, arrmor crafting, etc.with some solo hunting avaliable then DAoC is the game you want to buy!

I am one of the guys which can sit days for my computer and play a game if it is funny and interresting me. I am a player of Ascheron's Call since it was sold here in Germany and this game is so fun... =)
There are so much people which you can play with or you can fight against. My allegiance Lord of Destiny ( LoD ) is one of the biggest and greatest clans. I am very happy to play AC.

THE GREATEST GAME EVER!! BUY IT AND LIVE IN IT!

If you've ever played Diablo II or any other RPGs (including Anarchy Online), Asheron's Call AND the expansion is far superior! A totally customized character! Fighting/patron/experience systems are sweet! well I do have to say that the melee fighting aint that great....well it's good if u have good buffs on ya but my friend, Arthell lvl 49 Solclaim, I've seen him fight in the Linvak Tukal...lugians...yes it's kinda boring when u have 3 extas on you and ur just attacking, stamina elixer, and healing kit...but then thats by himself! If you are in a party, it wont be that bad! Mages I would have to say that they are pretty unbalanced, but you have to make the perfect template to make him strong (i.e. OB Mage or Battlemage). And no this game will not be boring when u finished every quest in the game BECAUSE! There are 2 PK Arenas (I think there's 2) that you can go to and kill everyone there if you're strong enough! But there will always be someone stronger than you... unless you're a lvl 126 Battlemage! So this game CANT be boring!! IT'S THE GREATEST!!!! And the part about lag...not much problem if u have Cable or higher, I've never been kicked out unless my cable stops working for some reason.

The Pure Mage
Level 26 4-School (gonna make an OB mage when I get DM)
