This game was, in everyway the most greatest kind of RPG on Gameboy Color! If you're a Pokemon fan then you might disagree. But this game takes you in the game and lets you solve all kinds of problems. The sounds of the game are really pretty interesting and the masters and bosses are incredible. This game will keep you satified for a long, long time! The fact of raising monsters and breeding them and combining them into different monsters justed makes you stuck to the game! This is pokemon with more drama and action! You buy items and join with allies to form a team of unbeatable creatures, cute and strong! There are a lot of cute and cuddly monsters and powerful monsters. This game is an interllectual challenge and is very indept. You will have a great experience with this wonderful game and the climax of the game is always happening! Choosing animals and training and trading has never been this interesting! What are you waiting for? Buy it already!

When you here about this game you instantly think, Pokemon Ripoff, but it's not! Its totally different. Unlike pokemon this game allows you to breed monsters to get new ones. This game is also very long so you won't get bored playing it. In the game you play Terry, who has been sent to the castle of GreatTree to find his kidnapped sister. The king of GreatTree wants you to win the Starry Night Tournament for him so he makes you a Monster Trainer. If you win the Starry Night Tournament you can wish for your sister back. In the game you can battle from G-A to S class raising your rank as a trainer before you compete in the Starry Night Tournament. Once you beat a class a room opens revealing a Mystic Portal where you can go to find monsters. As you beat higher classes the Monsters in the Mystic Portals get harder to beat. Plus there is a boss for every level. This game is really awesome and is a must for any RPG fan. Buy it!

THIS IS THE GAME TO GET!

It has every option pokemon has plus alot more! You can trade monsters, battle monsters, and even breed monsters via the link cable. Monsters are either male or female and any species can be bred to form more powerful monsters. The newborn monsters will be able to learn the skills of both parent monsters and depending on the level of the parent monsters when breeding will result in how powerful your new monster will be. When battling with the link cable you will be given the option of placing one of your monsters on the line. Should you loose the battle, the monster you wagered will be transported to the other persons game.you are also able to battle with and against up to three monsters at a time, and each monster can learn quite a few different attacks. The graphics are far better than pokemon, as is the music. If your looking for a game similer to pokemon gold and silver but are tired of waiting then give this game a chance! No pokemon fan will be dissapointed!

This is a great game for everyone!

Okay, I've been an RPG fan since many, many years before Pokemon. The Dragon Warrior series has always been a well crafted one and this new gameboy installment is no exception. There is plenty of challange and the game has the added bonus of being able to breed your own monsters. Its a fun game for rpgers of all ages. The instructions are clear enough that even kids shouldn't get frustrated trying to understand the plot logic. The gaming system is somewhat different from Pokemon, since although the destinations and bosses are set, the dungeons and paths between them are random - no walkthrus for this game! But don't let that scare you - it's still fun. It's so nice to see my old friends the slimes again. The color is great too! Now if we can just get a new installment of Final Fantasy for gameboy...

Many people hear the plot of the game and automatically disregard, it thinking it's just a cheap ripoff of Pokemon. It isn't. In fact it is much better. The aspect of this game which makes it so unique is the way you can breed monsters to get offspring with their parents combined abilities. Also their are many obstacles you face on your journey. You have to go through different worlds beating monsters which are bosses. The other main obstacle is a tournament you have to play. The tournament has different classes. In short this is a great all around R.P.G and it doesn't end quickly- the fun lasts for a long time. If you liked Pokemon, you'll love this.

This rocks! GET IT!

Hey there. This game is great. GET IT! I got it and IT RULES. It's totally addicting. It's about a boy whos sister gets kidnapped by a evil monster. You have to train monsters and catchem by getting them to like you by using treats. You defeat people in certain classes to unlock stuff. that's one of the most challenging parts cause you sometimes have to go through them over and over till you beat it but it's fun. The great thing about it is that it's an actual challengeing rpg. I mean it's not hecka hard and gets you stuck in a place where you cant go anywehre like survival kids and its not a "YOU beat it once and so you can beat it again hecka easily" like pokemon is. i mean pokemon is a great game but dragon warrior is hecka alot better. the puzzles are a little hard to find and figure out but there not unsolvable. in closing staements this game rules get it and you wont regret it.

Just about the Greatest RPG yet!

At the beginning of the game your sister is capture and your goal is to save her. A little monster pops out of the draw and asks you to follow him. Then you go to the king of great tree and he asks you to enter into the SN tournament, but first you have to prove yourself worthy.... When I first started playing the game I was kind of mad that I couldn't go everywhere, but then I realized that you had to beat a certain class(clases are s,a,b,c,d,e,f,g - s is the hardest this gets you into the Starry Night Tournment and g is the easiest class.)Unlike other RPG games you can breed monsters. You can also breed your monsters with your friend's monsters. You can trade, win(your friend's monsters), and battle your monsters against your friend's monsters. Another thing when you breed monsters they have a + sign next to the type(okay, a +2 is better than a +1 and a +3 is better than a +2 and so on and so on) .This game is great for any age.

a very cool game

First off, I have to say that this is one of the best games I've played on Game Boy Color. Make that THE best game I've played on GBC. So why did I give it four stars? Read on...

The battles are very easy to understand, and spell effects are awesome. However, the text keeps flying across the screen, unless you set it as the slowest it can go. Since you can carry around three monsters, three enemy monsters can attack you at a time. This can get really exciting, as one enemy monster heals another, or gets confused and kills their ally...

Breeding is great fun! I had lots of fun, picking out monsters, etc., until I finally had a team of three super-monsters! Ok, so...what am I supposed to do with these other monsters I've collected? You can only have three with you at a time, and if you leave your monsters at the farm, their Wildness goes up, which makes them not listen to you. So, you'll end up just collecting hordes of monsters that you never use, just so you can rack up the number of monsters you've collected. Also, it was pretty discouraging, when I'd acquire a new monster, but find I had no use for it.

"Quests" are fun. They mostly consist of you trying to find a monster for so-and-so to open a Traveler's Gate with. You can find and fight more monsters in the Traveler's Gates.

Arena battles are awesome. I really had great pride when my monsters defeated the other guy's.

The monsters actually follow you around on-screen! And EVERY SINGLE monster looks different, too..unlike Pokemon, where your Jigglypuff looked exactly like your Charmander.

The storyline is fun, the graphics are fine. All in all, DWM is a great game that just needs a little trimming around the hedges.

Even better then Pokemon!

DWM is a game with a better story line then Pokemon. It is not just about becoming the worlds strongest trainer! It is about trying to get your sister back from the Monster that took her! But if you are HUGE Pokemon fan you will still love this game!
