OMG the loading time!

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 6 / 8

I think this game is great with the exception of the extremely long loading time. The graphics are pretty good. There are a few glitches but overall the game is set up nicely! I love the story and was surprised at how close to the book a lot of the quests in the game are. This was a great buy, I'm just mad about the loading time. I think I see a few gray hairs now! Overall a good purchase!

You won't even blink

This game is far too fun, as the title says, this game will take you away so you forget to blink. As a 10 year old, Harry Potter fan, I'd have to say this Harry Potter version's pretty much better than the first. Exploring Hogwarts, completing tasks, learning hilarious, but great spells. Honestly, the game isn't perfect, it has it's bad and good things. I'll start with the bad. Here:
-Loading Sections-Why don't you just take a nap, get some snackage and wake up an hour later?
-So many things Hermione has you do- What is this. She knows what to do, but begs you to do it for her. I honestly think Harry don't wake up so he don't have to do it.
-One class a day-Maybe a year later, I'll look over this review and laugh, but for now, the laugh has yet to come.

Good things. Here:
-Much details-You can't expect the game to have EVERY single detail from the book or movie, so just deal with it.The game is pretty long if you constantly think about it.
-Quidditch-Quidditch is sometimes hard, but sometimes easy. Quidditch has it's difficulty games, and easy games.
-Much to do after all tasks finished-When you're done with all your tasks you can search for lost items, instead of autimatically heading to bed.

Well I've said it all. Overall the game is great. Don't say this too loud to get in trouble, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING THIS GAME, beacuse this your dream game.

Good game with some flaws..

Overall, the game is great! The storyline is pretty much the same as the book and the movie, with some changes. The graphics are also very good, as are the sounds. I'm sure you've heard everything good about the game, but here are some flaws I've noticed so far:

1. The characters sound much younger than they should.

2. On the charms challenge (during the part where you have to jump across the 2 platforms to push the buttons to get out), the large fire wouldn't disappear after both the platforms were raised. I don't know if it's just my game, but that's what happened, and that's where I'm stuck.

3. The broomstick is a bit hard to control, not very bad though.

4. The prefects can cast spells at you when they are facing away from you.

5. LOADING takes forever! I would recommened keeping something to do nearby while the game is loading.

6. Your aiming has to be perfect; You fall if you don't jump towards the right spot, and you miss if you cast a spell a bit off.

Those are pretty much the only flaws I've noticed. I'm sure there are others, but those seemed to be big to me. Now, on the the actual storyline and gameplay...

The storyline was okay. Like I said before, it's pretty much the same as the book and the movie. However, I was disappointed about the order of events, and how things happened. I didn't like that after transforming into Crabbe, I had to talk to Malfoy without Ron! Also, Dumbledore's office is different in the game. Harry hears the snake talk in Dumbledore's office, too. One last thing that disappointed me; There weren't many times when Harry talked to Ron and Hermione about the important subjects they discussed in the book and the movie. I know the game couldn't be exactly like the book or movie, but it could've had a little more detail.

The gameplay wasn't that difficult for me. I found everything quite easy, this being from a 12 year-old's point of view. Some parts were difficult at first (like the Gargoyles), and some of the puzzles were clever. I would recommend this game to people 7 and up.

I definitely like this game a lot. Besides the flaws, I really do enjoy playing the game. I also look forward to playing the next 2 games after this (Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire) ASAP! I definitely recommend this game to Harry Potter lovers!

Good Game

Pros:
- Great Graphics
- Great gameplay
- Quiditch is cool
- Lots of stuff to collect
- Lots of adventure, mini quests

Cons:
- Too easy at many points
- It's beatable in 2 days
- You can't die (little challenge involved)
- Much of Hogwarts isn't available to roam around

Otherwise, the game is great. My advice: don't buy it, rent it. This way, since you most likely will beat it within a few days anyway, you don't have to own it after you beat it.

So Disappointing!

I had really looked forward to the release of this game, and I did enjoy the first one for PS1. But I have to tell you, this game drove me insane! Every time you move your character or open a door the game takes forever to load the new scene. I was honestly so frustrated that I have only attempted to play this game two times. What a waste of $50.00. Don't bother!

The best magical adventure of all time

This game has the most advanced graphic quality that I have seen yet.Though the loading time does get anoying at times the gamplay was excellent and awe-inspiring.The multitude of spells was quite impressing as was the monsters. However, the freedom to fly on the nimbus 2000 was by far my favorite aspect of the game.Although the flight controles were a bit finigy in the begining, you do get used to them. The Basilisc was my favorite monster though beating him was a little to easy.I hope that my review was helpful and happy shoping!

Attention Please! Attention! An Addictive Game Here!

Is this game great or what. I think so! You interact with many of your favorite charcters, including Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, Dumbledore, Tom Riddle, and many many more! A game can never be too great. In my opinion this game is one that is too great. When I first recieved this game on Christmas 2002, I thought "this game will be so great," and apperantly my thoughts were true. That morining after I opened all of my presents, I played this game until I had to stop! Unfortunately all games have problem(s), including this. This game in particular has a huge problem. The game loads too slow. Another is that it loads almost every time you walk into a door, or even through a opening in a wall, or going through secret places, or crawling through a poatrit. But overall you can look foward to renting or buying this game! (it's worth it either way you choose)

Gee, It's Hard

OK, you know, I'm one of those people who really hates getting stuck on one thing and having to do it over and over. Well, that's exactly what you're going to do in this game. I myself have not gotten very far, because in the few times I've played it I've either gotten bored and walked away or gotten so frustrated I decided to go grab myself a soda. Besides being really really really hard, it takes forever to load. I mean, come on. Sometimes my dad says, "OK, 15 more minutes of video game time and you have to go to bed." I open a door, and it takes 10 minutes to get inside. I pay for a spell book, and before it's done loading I have to be forced to get into bed. Like I mentioned back there, it's kind of tough because you walk into a room, it takes a really long time to load, and you have to do this tiny thing and walk out, and it takes 20 minutes. And Hogwarts is just like a giant maze. So if you're one of the people like me, don't waste your money.

Wonderful-But Gets Tiresome

Following the Book-3 stars (out of 5 stars)
I love Harry Potter, but this video game goes off topic from the view of the book.Overall, it's a pretty good game.

Prefects-2 stars for difficulty
Sneaking past prefects is hard, unless you know where to go.

The Easy Way Around- 2 stars for LOTS of ways
The game has ways you can...not CHEAT, but find the easy way around. If you want to take away points from Slytherin, and you're at the Polyjuice Potion, drink it and walk up to prefects. The Potion doesn't wear off in "a hour" (which, in a game, is a few minutes), it only finishes when you finish talking to Malfoy, so that's kind of cheap.

Loading-1 star for loading too LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG
Loading also takes too long. If you play this game too long, it sort of gets boring, but hey-if you rent it, it will be pretty good!

Overall Game-4 stars 4 a good game!
Overall, 4 stars would seem the best choice. Rent before buy, probably. Try it, and see what you think!

Only fun for a short while. The loading times are rediculously long. I spend some 5 minutes waiting for it to load.
