A great game

The sims livin large is a great game for anyone who loves to play computer games. My best friend and I both love to play it. This is not the kind of game that you play with once and throw away! So if you're looking for a great christmas present for someone, buy them this. However, you will also have to buy that someone the regular sims if they don't already have it.

Not all that

The only great thing in the expansion pack is that you have more neighborhoods to work with, which means you can make more houses. (But beware-- you can't call Sims in different neighborhoods). Apart from that, there are some new objects, but most of them are ugly or lame. I say don't waste your money. Oh and the expansion pack puts disgusting roaches in your house TOO OFTEN. I hate having to spray the roach infestation every 5 minutes.

One of the BEST computer games ever made!

This expansion pack has alot of new features such as: -Roach Infestations -Alien abductions -Love potions -Grim reaper -Wish granting genie -Exploding garden gnomes -Rock star job -Talk Show host -UFO investigator -Slacker -Hacker -Journalist -Paranormal -50 new wall and carpet styles -Gloomy Castle -Tacky love shack -Retro pad -Las Vegas motel -40 more families than the first sims

It's Alright, not what I hoped it would be.

The Sims Livin' Large is a great upgrade for new items and such that could not be made by any user, but it doesnt really add anything to the game that much. The robot and guitar and all that is fun at first, but then they just become 'another' item in the game and you sort of end up with what The Sims was after awhile. I hope Maxis hopes to add features like assigning some of your family members to their own rooms, letting your family have pets like dogs and cats, and letting you put items against or on diagonal walls. Just my thoughts.

Expansion by adding stuff but not functionalities

Expansion pack is nice if you like the base game, The Sims. I have bought both at the same time hoping for the best, based on other reviews. Previously have played the Simcity 2000 and Simcity 3000 and have enjoyed both to a great extent. Unfortunately it is easier to create a good game about how to build a city than a game dealing with people's personal life. Basically if you believe that life is all about getting stuff and more stuff, then you may enjoy The Sims. At least for a while. Expansion pack was needed for this game, because sooner or later you will get bored with your current stuff and will need novelty to keep you going. That's where the Expansion pack comes handy, with tons of new and different stuff. But if you want a little more than that, then this game shows its shortcomings. You cannot control the environment at work. Your Sim just dissappears from the screen when he/she goes to work and comes back after work home with a daily paycheck. In order to advance with their career (to make more money to buy more stuff or just because you're the career type) your Sim has to be in a good mood, which depends if he/she eats, baths, sleeps enough. Your main activity in this game is to make sure that all these needs are fulfilled all the time. The Sims need lots of time with each activity and may just refuse to do what you tell them (in order to satisfy their needs). One of the important needs is contact with other people. Your Sim cannot go and visit other neighbors, they have to come to you. For that reason to enlarge the pool of your Sim's friends you depend on whoever comes to your house. Another words, if you, the prospective buyer, consider yourself as an active type who likes to control what is going on, then you may find yourself dissapointed. If you like to go with the flow and just do your best and see what happens, then you probably will like this game. Just because that there is no other game like currently on the market, this is the best game you can get today (of this type). At the same time it proves that we still have to improve the technology (speed and memory)in order to handle the complexities of a simulated human life. Good game but keep your expectations at a modest level.

A Must Have Expansion For The Sims!!!

In my opinion, without the Livin' Large Expansion, the Sims would just not be that fun! The expansion pack includes more than 125 new items. This includes a clumsy genie which can cause great damage such as start a fire or make all your plants die, or make your family or friends hate you. He is useful in some ways also but in my situation, rarely. There is also a chemistry lab that allows your sims to make potions. There are 7 types of potions which may leave your sims feeling refreshed or horrible. It may even turn your sims into a monster. Monsters break everything they use and it gets so frustrating! You sims can now make gnomes and play the air guitar. Your sims can now listen to other sims play the piano and guitar and make comments on it. There is a crystal ball that your sims can gaze into and get advice. Your sims can now use a voodoo doll to really hurt a sims that get on their nerves! The expansion allows your sim to "play in bed" using the Vibrating Heart Bed. There are many new decorative items that I find very attracting. Overall, I like most of the items and new events however, I really do think the tragic clown is annoying. I hate it when sims get abducted by aliens from looking in the telescope too much and the cockroaches that show up from no where!

The expansion also contains many new wallpaper and floor tiles. There are many colorful ones and I guess the point of having these crazy wallpaper is to go with the flow with your creativity and make your house wild!!

There are some new skins that are pretty decent.

I really love this expansion pack and I would rather have this than House Party. This is for "abnormal" type families. I would strongly recommend this expansion though for all Sim lovers! It's absolutely wonderful and like I said, without it, the Sims would be so dull! If you want to expand your fun, get the Livin' Large Expansion pack! Many new items, events, doors, windows, plants, wallpaper, tiles, the works!! Even though I love the expansion, I must it admit and does get kind of tedious once you play it for a long period of time! Of course, I still think this is the key to any wonderful sim experience! Enjoy!

Hello everyone. Ok lets put it this way.. the sims is a game which everyone is addicted to. Well lets say JUST ABOUT everyone loves the sims. I love the sims and when i have the days when i cannot think of a really cool design for a house, i download one. Like most of the other reveiwers.. i must say this game is not really for young children. Now i am not saying you have to be 18 to play it but under 12.. hey thats over board!! So please be on the watch of what your children play. Although this game does not TEACH the way to kill people, it actually teaches them how to be responsible and how to go within a budget. Also how to act when you have a baby. How to raise it and feed it and makes sure it doesnt miss the bus and make sure he/she gets good grades. Anyways the game has good and bad veiw points. But the game gets 5 stars from me.. I am stil waiting for the 3rdexpansion pack to come out!! So...

The Sims Expansion Pack is all I ever wanted, and more!

I just bought The Sims Expansion Pack a couple days ago, and me and my sister have been playing it non stop ever since! There are 125 new furniture pieces, wallpapers, floor tiles, doors, windows, and clothing! There are also 4 more neighborhoods! By neighborhoods they mean the same design and setup as the first one. Also if you put a family on neighborhood 3, none of the family's from any of the other neighborhoods can come over. Each neighborhood is a separate game. Also with the neighborhoods, you cannot move a family from one neighborhood to the next. I like the new furniture items, and the new floor tile/wallpapers the most because now some of the floor tiles and wallpapers actually go together! Most of the furniture is designed to build a castle or a home of the future, so sometimes it's hard to mix furniture together or find the right thing. Overall I love this Expansion Pack because it revived my old Sims game. ALSO included in the Sims Expansion Pack is a 5-7 second Trailer/Teaser for the next addition to The Sims! I think that it will be the BEST yet! Unfortunately it's coming out June 15th 2001, so we're going to have to wait a long time! At least we have the Expansion Pack to hold us over until then.

For the price I expected more

Yes, it's true there are new objects, patterns and career tracks, but none of it really changes the monotony of game play very much. Don't get me wrong; I really love the game, but after a few days, it gets really tedious. You know exactly what the outcomes of almost every action you take will be-- unlike real life! Skins and floor tiles are all over the Internet for free. Why didn't they incorporate more actions for the Sims, such as interacting with other Sims, random events, and going out to other places besides work? That would make gameplay more interesting-- not designing a "tacky love shack," or having a genie deposit roaches all over the house. On the upside, I do like a lot of the new products the Sims can buy, such as the telescope, the chemistry lab, and the Vibra-bed! Why not put hundreds more like that in there? I know it seems like I'm being negative. I do like the game; I just expected the Sims to be more different than it was after adding the expansion pack.

Do not wait! Buy this now!

I got this game for my birthday recently. As soon as I started I knew that this game was a must-have. there are new ways to get skill points, new electronics such as Servo - the new experimental robot. he's expensive - but with lots of dough (thank you money code!) he's definetely worth it. Servo will clean, repair, and make food if you want him to! The new jobs - paranormal, journalist, hacker, musician, and slacker - offer exciting new possibilities in your games. You can buy a genie lamp, and select "clean" in the pie menu. A purple genie will come out. He's cool, but he usually messes things up for you. A rocket launcher kit will keep Sims occupied if their fun bar is red, and new kitchen appliances will make your super-chef Sims happy because of their high hunger points. This program will not erase anything in your other programs, just add more opportunities. New skins will make your Sims hip, and new beds, couches, chairs and loveseats mean they can sit, nap, or sleep in style and comfort. If you love the Sims, you MUST get this exspansion pack. If you don't, you might experiance what my friend is experiancing - she doesn't want to play because all her Sims are in terrible moods. But new objects in this game insure that your Sims will stay in good moods. Just don't neglect them!
