Great fun for adults

I may not be the typical game player as a 36-year-old woman, but I love driving games, and this is one of the best driving games ever for the PC. There was something a little crazy about enjoying speeding through the Miami streets, running over pedestrians, taking missions as a hit(wo)man, and eluding the law. The game has definitely stirred up a lot of controversy, but it's just a game ... an ADULT game!

I loved the whole '80s Miami Vice theme, and one of the most enjoyable parts of the game is speeding around town listening to the awesome radio stations in the car. You can also create your own radio station with your MP3s. The graphics of downtown and the cars are great, but the characters can be a little stiff at times. However, this does not detract considerably from the fun factor.

Some of the missions are too difficult, and trying to get through them over and over again became so tedious that I had to find some cheats online. A more liberal save feature would have been nice. As a result of some of the missions, I still haven't finished the game, but perhaps that's the beauty of GTA Vice City ... it's huge and you get your money's worth. There's nothing I hate more than buying a game and finding it so simple that I finish it in a couple of days ... there's no risk in that with this game.

my other favorite game ever!

this is quite possibly the most anti-establishment game ive ever seen.there are hours and hours of fun to be had just cruising around and raising hell.you can run people over, get into fist fights, steal civil servent vehicles and do thier jobs, shoot stuff up............then you realize after weeks and weeks of this that theres actualy a game in thier with a storyline.here it is.........you are a bad man who does highly illegal things for crime bosses.things like stealing faster drug boats, shooting rival dealers, running over his unfaithful wife, shooting up buildings, intimidating witnesses.........and much much more!the really cool thing is that beyond all this, theres really hilarious talk shows on the radio.the music is all 80s all the time but from many genres.but, guess what?if you play it on an x-box,you can actualy program one station with all songs you put in!its awesome!so my advice is,put on a song that makes you tremble with frenzied aggression.crank it all the way up.then rip the knobs off your tv and go on a rampage thatd make the la riots look like candyland!you can and its all in this abselute milestone in video game history!gta!

What a game...

Car crashes, continuous car explosions, shooting helicoptors that ignite, sunts--this is GTA: Vice City and so much more. The two cities that are present are more than detailed---you've got the downtown, where later on, if you want to create your own stunt 30 stories off an office building, that's your decision. The missions created in this game are very entertaining, and they do keep on getting more exciting.

Getting the freedom of buying your own buildings to save your game, to be able to continue the missions, and to get profits off of is something that I have never expected in any game. This game has it all. You can go to the beach, create some stunts in the stadium, go to the dirtbike path, ride a boat throughout Vice City's river, even go to the mall....there are so many things in this game that it will never bore you!!

I have to admit it, though. I honestly believe that Vice City is greater than any other game I've played. Hop on a PCG 600 moto bike, speed down the boulevard, dashing through the wind. There's also nothing like going 120 feet up into the lighthouse, seeing the tremendously detailed sunset on the water. Without the option of going into other vehicles relentlessly, this game wouldn't be as good as it is now!

In GTA 3 there was a lot of slow down and things didn't move realistically. In GTA: Vice City, it's nothing like that. Everthing is smooth! Fast-paced! I'll tell you why. When I had GTA 3 with a 32 bit graphic card it was slow....Right now I have a Geforce 2, tested that graphic card on GTA 3 again, it was still slow.... So to be honest with you, a Geforce 2 400 is good for Vice City...that's what I've got.

The missions, of course, are phenomenal. The way Rockstar Games came up with the ideas to make such unique and eye-popping missions is beyond my comprehension. Voice talents are like typical actors in the movies; just excellent.

If, for some reason you get bored of the missions, try the submissions. You won't believe how much money you make after 20 sub-mission levels. You can be a firefighter, police officer, taxi cab driver, anything that interests you.

This game just has it all. You can do everything! Go to the golf course a drive a golf cart into a bunker!

One thing YOU WILL get tired of, though, is driving around endlessly around Vice City! But, then we'll just fly the airplane or the helicoptor.. Non-stop entertainment!!!

One of the coolest games I ever played

You are Tommy Versetti, an ex-GI turned thug to make big money in Vice City. You must fight bikers, Cubans, Haitians, cops, drug dealers, and even your best friend to seize control of Vice City. A vast array of weaons to use...including a chainsaw. Watch for the hot babes walking down the street. Stop next to one and watch them climb into your car! Brrm! Brrm!

A game I trully did not want to stop playing

This game remains one of my favorite games of all time.

I'm an old school game, I've played computer games since I had an atari st with cartridge.

I played the other GTA games, I liked them very much, they are all addictive. This one, this one is trully the jewel in the crown.

There are many things I could say, but I just don't want to repeat the same waffle. It's a great game, the characters are all superb, voiced by great actors. Ray Liotta is just on fire as Tommy Vercetti. I'm still suprised they got all of this talent, there seems to be no stone un turned, even Blondie get's a minor part.

This is many thumbs way up. Indeed, it's notorious, it's not for minors, though no doubt there are more minors played this than adults. A lot of it's subject matter are just for kicks, just teh kind of amusement we seek because it's the kind of thing we would never normally do in our wildest dreams; The other part, inmo, is jsut sheer style.

I can't recommend this title enough. The only possible downside to it, and this is just being picky is the loading times between various parts of the city. This was eliminated in San Andreas, but this one is the one.

When the first GTA came out, I was hooked into it. It is like stealing the cars to sell.
Then came the GTA2, I was amazed of the gaming system. It is about a guy getting jobs from Mafias earning reputations and cash.
Now GTA3 is more well done game. It is turning from 2D to 3D platform. The story lines of the game is well made too.

GTA:Vice City is the best game that rockstar game have made. It fuilfill the dream of riding on motorcycle and even shooting with MP5 during riding on motorcycle. There are many and many missions to do too. U even can buy your own house or building to save or to earn money. It is a die die must buy game.

GTA goes retro!!!!

Like GTA3, this game is tons of fun, this time it's set in a 1980's Miami parody! The free-range open 3D environment allows for hours of exploring fun in Vice City! This game plays like a combination of Miami Vice and Scarface! You play Tommy Vercetti, (Ray Liotta) out to find out who set you up and stole your boss' cocaine. The environment in the game is perfect, the architecture and feel of the buildings totally makes you feel like you're really in Miami in the 80's. There are new gangs to take on: the bikers, Haitans, Cubans, & more! There are new weapons, new cars, and you can even steal motorcycles! (which you can pull wheelies and endos on, tons of fun!) Another new feature is the ability to buy and own property! The characters are voiced from a wide array of celebrities, everyone from Phillip Michael Thomas (Tubbs from Miami Vice) to Jenna Jameson! The soundtrack is all incredible 80's music: pop, metal, hip hop, etc, no game ever has had as many good tunes! My only gripe with the game is that there aren't that many missions before you complete the game, but like in GTA3 there are rampages, hidden packages, and phone missions to keep you busy. Out of 10- Overall: 9.5 - Graphics: 8.5 - Gameplay - 9.0 - Replayability - 10

Buy now, Adults good, kids... not so much.

I have just played Vice City and I have to say that it was the best damn game I've played. The plot is cool. The graphics are great. The voice acting is perfect. There is Open ended gameplay. Of course the carjacking, violent, prostitute screwing mayhem. Another great thing is the 80's theme and how everything fits to it. The crazy clothes, music and sound, and rollerbladers in bikinis. There is new cars, weapons, and loads to explore. You can now buy places all over. Some new vehicles are boats, and flyable helicopters.

I think the game overall is great, except... For PC if you don't have a good computer with a 64 MB graphics card or a 128 MB Ram, then the game is going to play and look like crap. another fault is for younger gamers, some content is very much for adults! The sexual content is quite mild. It's the brutal violence and strong language that get the parents and politicians angry. An example of violence is if you drive over someone, you will hear there backbone crunching under your tires! If you get a headshot, a fountain of blood will splatter everywhere. The sexual content is half-naked strippers and prostitutes roaming in and outside of Vice City. Also another thing is some very frustrating missions.

Back to the good stuff. The controversy helped its sales. This game, in Vice City, there is loads of content to explore and to interact with. Also Vice City is roaming with pedestrians talking locally and the police are a bit more rough. Like if you steal a cop car, they will lay down spike strips to blow your tires.

In the end, the huge draw distances, gameplay, sound, and everything else makes this game one. great. game. If you're 17 and older.

I Really Do Love It!

When I first saw the Grand Theft Auto series advertised on TV, I thought it was ridiculous. I never really liked violence and this was everthing I was against. Well...I was wrong. My brother was playing this on his PS2 and he let me play with it to give it a try. I'm glad he did. :) I have discovered another favorite game to play. Where I do understand that this game is NOT for the younger crowd, I still reccomend getting it for the older crowd.
I don't have a PS2 and I don't know if I'll ever get one. I'm getting a Gaming PC in a few months and I can't wait to start my collection of Grand Theft Autos! :)

One Of The Greatest

Vice City is awesome!!! When im not doing missions, Im usually runnin from the law. I love the one-liners Vercetti says: D****!
UR all D****!!,If I have to kill you, I WILL. One thing i dont like is there isnt an AK47 in the game, instead they put the Ruger
which is a variant. But since this is th pc version thr are mods that can change it. The wanted level is as follows:

1 If a cop sees you hell go after you
2 More aggresive than last one
3 Police at their most agressive height w/ helicopters to track
you down easier and Miami Vice is called to scene they pull
up in a cheetah,packin Uzi 9MMs
4 SWAT Team arrives in armored trucks in a unit of 4 also packin
Uzis
5 If youve made it this far i suggest you get a car and mash
upon the gas pedal cause now the FBI is after you. These
guys pull up in jet black suburbans, packin MP5s
6 Now youve really done it. The Army is on its way and their
strapped to kill. These guys arive in Rhino tanks & Barracks
army trucks. The only thing you can do now is run for cover
cause the Rhinos will blow up your car on contact unless you
dodge them.Another mistake ive found is that the Army uses MP5
like the FBI in the game, when they should be using M16s
you can also change that in the PC version
