Great, Politically Incorrect Game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 3

Well. How does one describe (...), senseless violence, running away from law enforcement authorities? It's incredible fun--especially because it isn't real. The game basically allows you to send all of your pent up anger and use it for something somewhat productive: to test what kind of world we can live in if we were able to do anything we wanted, if, at least, for a limited time period. Could we really handle it?

Probably not.

The game asks you to see how long you are able to survive with many officers on your back. But without them, almost anything is possible. You can basically be the person you would really prefer to be, minus the consequences. An excellent, politically incorrect game.

The best single player game that has ever been made!!

There is no way I can really tell you how good this game is. No matter how old you are you will love this game. My seven year old couson came and started playing it non-stop for four hours. She didnt want to leave and her parents had to drag her out. My 35 year old uncle did the same except his parents didnt exactly drag him out. This game gets a 10/10 in every category. It has excelent graphics with an entertaining storyline. You can continue the story or just drive through vice city getting as much wanted stars as you can. I have never played a game so fun and addictive. There are loads of things to do and you will always be coming back for more.
get this game.
do whatever it takes, even if it means dressing up as a begger hoping to get a penny or two. If you do get a penny, you will be a penny closer to every gamers paradise!!

A great way to vent

Vice City is a big barrel of fun. The game play is semi-nonlinear, meaning you dont have to really follow the scripted storyline and get this and that done, but you do have to complete missions (in no particular order albeit) to unlock new parts of the city as well as get into higher levels (denoted as stars of wanted level) of trouble.

One thing I hated was the Remote Control Helicopter mission, you get like 10 seconds to complete a near impossible task with a toy helicopter. What it has to do with carjacking and criminal misdeeds is beyond me anyhow. So I gave up on that one. Then I discovered the vigalante missions along with the tank. Talk about fun, I sat for a good 2 hours rolling around town blowing up FBI, Police cars and criminals. Also discovering if you turn the tank turret backwards and shoot while moving, you'll eventually accellerate faster than any vehicle i've seen in the game. Ended up jumping the thing on the beach 400+ feet for an insane stunt bonus. You can also use the turret to shoot right or left to help in turning tighter or shoot forward to slow down much faster than the brakes would ever work. Plus the cannon also blows things up, what could possibly be bad about that.

My point is, I often found myself distracted by the game with my own sort of side agenda of destroying this or that and being amused by little things like trying to get cars to blow up with as many people in the blast radius as possible. If you play games to complete them, you'll have a great time without a doubt. If you're the type of person like me that loves to go off on a tangent and just mess around, blowing things up and wreaking havoc, then you'll have a new appreciation for gaming.

Despite minor flaws, Rockstar continues to dazzle with Vice

This game has now been out for more than a year and with the release of its follow-up "GTA: San Andreas" just months away, Vice City is still well worth a look for anyone who hasn't played it yet.
Naysayers have protested that Vice City only offers "more of the same" of what made GTA 3 a breakthrough success. Well, this is true to some extent, but the interactive environment has also been substantially tweaked, with a large number of indoor areas (including a huge mall) adding to the game's immersiveness. There are also puchasable properties contribtuing an extra dimension to main character Tommy Vercetti's meteoric rise as a crimelord. The availability of helicopters, motorcyles, and planes more than makes up for the lack of a subway in Vice City.
My criticisms of the game are minor. Firstly, while most of the radio programming is great, some of the scripting for the talk shows simply doesn't match the invetiveness of the previous game and is occasionally downright weak. Secondly, it has often been said that Vice City's grapihcs are behind the times. While I agree, it seems to me that this was a trade-off to enable the construction of a huge virtual world with a manageable game engine. Even if the 3D modelling isn't quite up to Max Payne standards, the gameplay, storyline, and indeed the very game-concept are so far superior to Max's as to put Vice City in a different league entirely.
My favorite addition to Vice City is the availablity of an Apache helicopter as an unlockable feature. With or without the "Brown Thunder" sub-mission engaged, you can reek havoc on a scale only dreamt of by veterans of GTA 3.

this game rocks!!!!!!!!!!! I'ts even better than the ps2 version. there is way more oportunitys and more weapons like the butchers knife, chainsaw, golf club,mac10 and many more!!!!!!!!! you can shoot tires and scare the people inside of the cars! you can even shoot through windows! all that you can't do in gta 3 can you. remember, this game has heavy violent content,a lot of blood and gore, sex and sexual situations so don't let people at the age of 0-14 play this game. or if your a realy strict person on games, don't buy this game. but if your a big gta fan buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same old same old

It's pretty much the same as Grand Theft Auto 3. Then again, that's not really a bad thing, I suppose.

The most notable new features include an 80's theme, tire damage, motorbikes, smarter police, and a few new interesting weapons.

It's a good game, but if you've played GTA3 don't expect anything revolutionary.

There is no doubt that this game series is the best series ever to come to PC. Of course, many of us PCers are upset that RockStar has diverted so much attention away from the PC and toward console gaming. IS there not much more money in PC games? Either way, this game should be released May 13th, and for some reason my pre-order delivery estimate says August 12th. I really can't wait that long for an awesome game like this, so let's just hope it is a glitch, so that all the wanting PC gamers out there can enjoy this gem over the summer.

Can I give this 10 stars? Rockstar Rocks!

And I thought the Getaway was cool!
Grand Theft Auto Vice City is the best game in the entire world!
You can play this game forever, unlike 3 which I tired of in a month. You can do everything in this game! Funny scripts, GREAT MUSIC for all of you 80's buffs! This game was deffinately made with the 25-40 year old players in mind. I have it for both my PC and playstation 2! The game is so good you forget to do the missions at times and just go causing havoc all over vice city for sport! This game is so great you would stay up all night playing it and have to call in sick for work!

Fun for hours, a classic game

This item came with a poster-size map of Vice City, which I use to mark all the hidden packages in the game. Wonderful game, easy to use, although rated M for mature a six-year old can play it to just walk around or drive cars, while the missions are more challenging for older players. I think the rating comes from the content of the game, but it is obviously imagination and lots of fun. Works best on a fast computer with a game pad. Too hard to play without a game pad. Able to save eight sessions, and the game is never over! It can be addicting, so setting time limits is a must.
