HALO RULES ALL!!!!!!

Halo by itself made X-Box the best selling video game system but for computer it will far surpass X-Box gameplay. Halo for PC incudes all of Halo for X-Box plus:
*Banshee in multiplayer mode.
*6 new multiplayer maps.
*New guns.
*And multiplayer experience without puchacing anything extra.

I can tell all of you one thing now. This game is going to be gold. Do not pass this offer. BUY HALO FOR PC!!!!!!!!!

Horrible performance even on top end system!

On a 2.4Ghz 1gb ram 128mb high end geforce video card the game runs slower than molasses. Compared to Call of Duty, Medal of Honor etc this thing is just painfully slow if you get more than 2 aliens on the screen at a time. Given that the graphics are much poorer than these other games there is no apparent excuse for this, other than incompetent programmers. Avoid this one!

Worst game ever!!!!

I had purchased this game and for about 2 weeks it was ok, I was hooked with all the fun, NOW, the gameplay is so boring the graphics are at par with atari, the fanboys and hype to this game is unbelievable . It's almost as if everyone bought this game they realized it sucks and after two weeks of playing decided they were so angry that they lost $50 that they want everyone else to loose their money ,so they give this an excellent review in hopes that they won't be the only suckers who fell for microsoft's bull . This game wasn't even all that great on the xbox which runs it at a steadier pace than a computer. Not to mention the LAG issues, players who's only joy is to TEAMKILL, and hte fact that multiplayer is a nightmare. WHY ? Well the most played gametype is capture the flag which means you have to carry the enemies flag from their base to yours which is a long way , especially when 8 other people are trying to kill you and you have an energy bar that is almost non existing , 3 shots and your dead. You can boost the energy bar settings but I have yet to play in game that was arranged this way, It's someone's idea of more fun to watch you die as you try again and again to capture this flag. Well, if you have a bunch of school friends and want to play this you might not be dissapointed since most games I played at were dominated by "teamcheaters" as I like to call them = the people who get together on a server to cheat in ways to glorify each other. In other words I'll let you kill me 50 times this game if you let me kill you 50 times next game, meanwhile everyone else kill the strangers. If you feel the need to buy this outdated, sorry excuse for fun, then I too will laugh at you but with a clear conscious . But act now supplies are running out and you cannot dissapoint the sorry HALO FANBOYS COMMUNITY .

"Port" isn't a dirty word in a situation like this!

And Halo will likely make an excellent port from XBOX to PC, likely featuring full support for modern 3-D cards, resolutions up to 1600x1200, new multiplayer head to head mode content, optimized LAN/online play, no coop play as I hear, and more! But it'll still be a great port and for XBOX owners, well, you really don't need it, and I don't plan to get it, since I already have HALO for XBOX! :)

WOW!

I have to admit, they did a very very good job goign from XBOX to PC. You would need a good video card though to get the best graphics, but it works good enough for me. You might have to tweak it a bit before the FPS become at a stable rate with smooth graphics. This game is very fun with the new multi online, even thought you might get laggy a bit. Over all, I have to hand it to Bungie and Gearbox, nice job guys. I will be waitin for HALO 2 on XBOX

Great Game!

Halo for pc is a really great game. The campaign is great, and the main reason why I purchased halo is the multiplayer. The multiplayer online is really great, I have halo for xbox also and the multiplayer one that is really not that fun. Probably because there are not that many people playing versions online. The best thing aobut online on the computer is it is FREE. If you have a dial up though you should not get halo because of the multiplayer, if you play online and you have dial up, it will lag like crazy.

Great graphics, boring though.

This game is boring.
I don't know what the big fuss about it is...the multiplayer is BORING...it's not even exciting.

Graphics are amazing...boring, stupid plot though.
Try Call of Duty for a good FPS this year.

Sluggish, Slow and un-responsive

I have yet to return a single game, but this will be the one. Halo: Combat Evolved, has breathtaking visuals, a better-than-average storyline and great weapons. But the PC version is hampered by horridly sluggish game play. I have a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 and a GeForce FX 5600 Ultra (128 MB), Serial ATA Hard Drive and 1 GB of DDR 400 system RAM. The game is still sluggish to the point of being unplayable if there are more than 6 characters on the screen.

It's an exercise in frustration trying to aim with the effective frame rate of 8 frames/second or worse. This performance (or lack thereof) is simply unacceptable. If the game can run on a 733 MHz Xbox without dropping below 30 frames per second why can't it do the same on my PC?

This game hasn't yet "evolved" for the PC, despite it's availability on store shelves

Framerates are killing me!!!!

First off, I lowered the res, lowered the textures, the game can hit 60 fps, if you run it at 640 x 480, with the textures low and the rest of the settings off. I even lowered anisotropic filtering on my card settings, it made some difference.

This game should NOT be more GPU and CPU intensive as a game like Morrowind. I'm sorry whatever argument you can come up with won't justify the terrible optimization that went along with this game.

It's the new standard in videogame production these days. Concern yourself with graphics and the rest comes later. Let's gouge the people by making games super graphic intensive that they have to go out and buy $500(Can) or $200(US) worth of a videocard.

This computer age is just barbaric, it's really good what we can do, but it's nothing more than strong-arm tactics.

Xbox owners feel proud, your $500(Can), $200(US) system lets you play games that are optimized properly.

Better than Xbox!

Halo on the PC is simply amazing. It's even better than the Xbox version. First of all, the graphics are stunning and it makes the gameplay very enjoyable. Also, the multiplayer is online so you can play with friends together which is really cool. Mulitiplayer also has 6 more maps which are all eye popping and jaw dropping. You can now use the Banshee in multiplayer too (which you can't do on Xbox). There are also 2 new weapons, the flamethrower and the fuel-rod gun (most of you know it as the Hunter's gun). Now you can burn all of those aliens to death! Trust me, even if you have Halo for Xbox, you still must buy it!!! Everyone buy this game!
