I Just Can't Get Enough!

I just gotta buy this game! I love it! Look what gamespot wrote about it: The quirky story, which appears to be an odd mix of serious and zany material in the import, is maintained in the US version, but some impressive tonal shifts in the narrative have been implemented as well. Over the course of the game we're privy to Yuna's thoughts as she comments on people and/or events as they happen. The internal dialogue takes the form of a direct address to Tidus as she fills him in as to what's going on in her life. The segments appear throughout the game and end up having a wistful air to them that's surprisingly effective. Nostalgia also plays a large part in the game's appeal as, over the course of her adventures, Yuna will revisit many of the locales from FFX-2--like Besaid Island, Zanarkand, and Mount Gagazet. In addition, you meet with old friends, like Wakka, Lulu, and Kimahri. The silliness is, of course, still there, albeit with some context, to provide some goofy fun. As you'd expect, the game's localization is on par with Square Enix's usual high standards.

Fanboys, Fangirls, Fans of all ages- Give it a chance

This is a fine game, honestly. Thought it's obviously designed for the fanboys and fangirls who loved Final Fantasy X, the gameplay and story keep you interested.

This game, oddly enough, returns to the Job system found in Final Fantasy V or Tactics, though in an admittedly stranger way. You find new costumes that give you special abilities, etc etc. It's hard to explain, you have to play the game to get it.

Good music, though wholly absent of most of the Final Fantasy-esque themes that come from Uematsu, Mizuta, and the gang. It's mostly pop-influenced, which is not to say it is bad.

The game flows smoothly, and thankfully returns to an open-ended adventure system that allows you to backtrack and go in directions other than 'the next area.'

It's the logical sequel to X, kinda, and will keep you more than a little occupied. Where else can you get this kind of Japanese fan-zaniness in the USA?

just finished X

OMG!! That game was soo good!! Final fantasy X is the only ff game I've ever played, I can see why they're so popular! I just can't wait for this sequal. luckily for me I only havta wait a little while unlike the hard core fans who played a year or two ago...Anyway, with a prequal as good as X, you know this game will be good...
The most obvious praise this game gets is it's graphics. And yes it does have beautifull graphics. But I'm a lunar fan, graphics don't mean a thing to me!! But I was shocked and amazed when I found this game had an intelligent innavative plot. It was one of the best stories since LUNAR 2. I just hope that also like lunar, the sequal surpasses even the original...
If you play it and hate it, that's fine. Just as long as you play it!! Anyway those were my opiniouns... So just have fun and play games!!

FINAL FANTASY X-2 THE BEST GAME ON PS2

When i first heard about Final fantasy X-2 coming out i was shock to hear of it. I first heard of it on (a website). I saw a picture with yuna holding some guns on the headline to it was alittle funny looking though. The game is mostly about Yuna trying to find her lost love by the name of Tidus. When she finds a sphere given by rikku to her she sees tidus in a prison screaming something about stop using forbidden machina is what i've heard of. Now the only thing that gets to me is they should have kept the aeons in the game. There is no blitzball either. O and yeah Wakka and lulu got married and are especting a baby. I heard a rumor as where you can see the baby i dont know it probaby looks funny as @$%*. I first started playing FF games was when my friend let me hold ff7 which i really liked it and of course i beat it. Then i bought ff8 and beat that and then 9. Finally i got ffX which was the best and i beat it like 17 times and my friend lil vic beat it like.....0 times lol. I have to give him credit because he did get to Semour3 with my help though. Anyway X-2 has a newbie by the name of Paine. Also the temples on FFX can now fly because they are controlled by machina. Also you can pick your own job system like if you want yuna to be your black mage it can be done and if you want to let rikku be you hite mage well let me guess it can be done. So if you want you can let your attacking person be yuna. THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST FINAL FANTASY EVER!!!!!!

Thank GOD for X-2!!!!

Final Fantasy X in my opinion was one of the best done RPG's on PS2 console. I preordered it and almost cried when I found out I wasted all those hours of blood, sweat and tears, for that sorry ending(won't tell). Final Fantasy VII left me the same way. I spent hours after I beat the games trying to figure out what happened, is that the end? Can't I do more in the game? So I played through many more times trying to learn every small detail, but I came up with the same answer (nonthing). So I wished and hoped that Square would release part two of these fine games, and guess what they did! Final Fantasy VII:Advent Children is going to be a great movie hopefully better then Spirts Within. And finally X-2, yes I have bagged all my old games (I kept the Final Fantasy's) and preordered this game. I'm not going to tell that this game is perfect I've not played it yet. But it is Final Fantasy people they get a ten just for making it in my book. Sure they may have problems, what game don't (Gran Tursimo 2,Driver the rest!). But Square trys to polish them out so give it a chance. November 11 here I come!

I have played every final fantasy game to date and i think that FFX-2 is going to be the best yet. I was EXTREMELY happy to find out that Yuna was the lead character in the sequel. I am man enough to admit that i had a tear running down my cheek at the end of FFX as i am sure that anyone who has played completely thru the game did. This is a great opprotunity for Squaresoft to show off its stuff and once again, rock the Final Fantasy line. I cant wait, PRE-ORDER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait for FFX-2! It sounds very exciting, especially since you get to choose their costumes and the paths that they take, it means you can play it more than once and still have new things! I'm pre-ordering it, and I suggest you do the same!!!!!!!!!

I imported it... some preliminary thoughts

After four years of playing imported Japanese RPGs (starting with FFVII in early 1997) I finally reached the point where I could finish them on my own. I was able to complete FFX and Xenosaga in Japanese without ever consulting a FAQ or asking for help from anyone. I was really happy about this. So I was a little dismayed when I imported FFX-2 and found myself stopping before finishing it. Did I get stuck? Not really. It's just that FFX-2's battle system is so fast and frantic that it was too much for me. I never seemed to get comfortable with the ability system. I was pretty upset when I heard that FFX-2 was going back to ATB instead of going with FFX's innovative CTB battle system, but I was upset over -nothing-. This newly retooled ATB system is the fastest, most dynamic RPG battle system ever. It's like Grandia's system on methamphetamines. I hope I can enjoy it more when I can read the menus. It's pretty overwhelming in Japanese, whereas I had no problem with FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, and Xenosaga.

The story and atmosphere in FFX-2 is very tongue-in-cheek. Don't take it too seriously. The creators clearly didn't.

Basically, I'm surprised that FFX-2 didn't suck me in enough to motivate me to plug ahead until I finished it. That signals to me that something's wrong. But I'm waiting until I play it in English to really form an opinion on it.

EDIT: The battle system was much more fun and managable for me in the English version. However, the rehash of FFX's story/characters and episodic/mission based structure left me pretty cold. To me this is yet another mere FF spin-off, falling well short of the high quality of the FF series proper.

It's the best!
