"Step into the world of a cold blooded killer"

Great game, I like how fresh the game is. My favorite part in the game was that level were your outside that house in the rain, if you look through the window (which im sure you already have) you will see a naked guy in a jacuzzi with a bunch of women. You have to turn the power off and go into the room with your night vision googles on (Its Awesome!)and kill everyone. Its funny though because when the power goes off and your in the room with your night vision googles on. Its dark and no one can see you BUT YOU CAN SEE THEM!, If you look in the jacuzzi you will see that the naked guy is hiding underwater holding his breath and coming up for air most of the time because he is scared and he doesnt want to be spotted (LMAO. I went behind him with my trusty fiber wire and strangled him with it. You will see that as soon as you turn the power off all the women will get off the hot tub and hide somewhere in the room or they might leave (This part is so awesome!). I also like the disguises, this game is off the hook. There was one part were you disguise yourself as one of the soldiers and if you walk down this hallway you will these two soldiers beating up one of the civilians (it is funny as hell!). Im just standing there watching them beat up the civilian and say if you fire a gun the way they react is hilarious they start looking around and stuff and your hiding somewhere, so its so funny

A symptom of Western Civilization's demise? Nope.

There has been a significant amount of press about this game, especially in Britain, where it's been pulled off of shelves (and makes me wonder why this is listed as "not stocked or discontinued"...hmmm...).

The subtitle, for me, is the key to understanding the brilliance of this game. SILENT is the point...not SHOOT-'EM-ALL-AND-LET-GOD-SORT-THEM-OUT. Accomplish your objective with minimal (or no!) bloodshed...don't let everyone know you're coming by launching an artillery barrage...just get the job done and move on. The challenge is in the puzzle and figuring out the optimum way to complete the mission without raising an alarm and without taking innocent lives.

Can you shoot every living being in sight, engaging in wanton slaughter? Sure, just like any government has throughout all of history. The point is, achieving the ultimate prize in this game ("Silent Assassin" rating) occurs when you take out the one bad guy, not every pedestrian you come across.

People make all sorts of horrendous or wonderful decisions...the bane or blessing of human free will. Real life good and evil can be brought to bear in this game just the same.

Enough philosophizing...the game is a heckuva lot of fun to play and the puzzle aspect is challenging, while not impossible. Graphics are smooth and thorough without being sparse, though I think there's room for improvement.

The one part I found deliciously unnerving is the sound of Agent 47's ("your") breathing, feeling the heartbeat in the Shockwave controller, while trying to hold your sight steady as it bobs up and down on your target. Playing late at night while the rest of the house is in bed and the lights are out can make you VERY paranoid.

The drawback to all games like this (GTA3, Medal of Honor, etc.) is that once you've figured them out, all you can do is play to improve your time and/or performance. That can get old...but I suppose that's what makes places like Amazon so great...sell the old game to trade up to a new one.

BEST GAME EVER

I just bought H2 and sat down to play it and I thought man! This game is kinda hard!! I continued to play and found it to ramain hard. This is a "hard" that is good though. You feel rewarded after you finish a mission or you sneak past a guard. I found that the sneaking is the hardest thing, but if you try, you can get though a mission w/o killing one person or even being noticed...That is...If you're really good. Here's how I rate the game:

GRAPHICS/SOUND: 5/5 This game has some of, if not the best graphics out there for any PS2 title. The sound is great and can give you hints as to where a enemy is lurking.

CONTROLS: 4/5 The controls are a little wierd, but once you figure them out, it's easy to sneak around (relatively speaking)

Gameplay: 5/5 Everyone has a secret yearning to be a hitman, so when you get to PRETEND to be one in a game you can live out your sickest, most twisted dreams and when the game allows you to do that, well that's even better! I haven't beat the game yet, but the missions so far have all been varied and in different locations. The AI is a little quirky, but it's still better than most games out there. The story envelopes you and you want to keep playing to see what happens next (or maybe you just love choking people to death w/o their knowledge of you) either way keeps you playing. This is what more games should focus on! Edios finally did.

Well, I love this challenging game and I reconmend that if you're into this kind of stuff (and above 17) then rent it at the least.

I truly enjoyed playing this stealth-based adventure game as it provided me with exceptional entertainment value with a high addictive factor.

I suggest palying this game at the Expert or Professional level to get maximum thrills, as these levels allow you to trully feel the steel nerves and heart-stopping adrenalin of a hired assassin.

In addition, the musical score in the game, comdined with some breath-taking scenery, each customised per geographic location, add immensely in creating a trully immersing experience.

Finally, the sounds of the various weapons deployed during each mission is totally realistic, especially the thump of the classic Deagle.

Overall an excellent stealth game and well worth a purchase...

THIS IS DEFINETELY A GOTTA HAVE GAME. IT KEEPS YOU WANTING TO KEEP PLAYING, BUT DOESN'T MAKE IT EASY FOR YOU EITHER. THE GREAT THING ABOUT THIS GAME IS THAT IT GIVES YOU A LOT OF WAYS OF BEATING A MISSION, AND ISN'T JUST POINT A TO POINT B. IT ISN'T ALL ABOUT PLOWING DOWN PEOPLE DOWN WITH A MACHINE GUN EITHER, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO USE STEALTH, WHICH ADDS A GOOD EFFECT TO THE GAME. THE GRAPHICS ARE GREAT, THE LOADING TIME LOW, AND IT IS DEFINETELY A GREAT GAME TO PASS THE TIME WITH.

One of the BEST and most CREATIVE Games on the market.

When I first played this game the only thing I really didnt like were the controls, but just like every game, I did get used to them fast. Most games only have one clear cut way to complete a mission and only one path to get you there. Hitman 2 on the other hand lets you take many paths in each mission while letting you decide which way of many you'd like to accomplish that mission. The graphics are great and even seam to get better with each mission. The game is extremely realistic where a false move can get you caught(stepping on a potato chip or a floor board the wrong way) but also very fun and rewarding. This is not a game where you go around shooting everyone in sight with out an enemy noticing you. Each hit you make on your target is well strategized and planned and by the time the hit is done it is a great reward. You must use stealth, disguises, and in many cases "quiet" kills to get past your enemy. In Hitman 2 you will set up snipe attacks from distant builings, assume the identity of a pizza boy or fireman, shut down building power and use your nightvision, poison a drink, fight katana swinging ninjas, sneak up behind enemies with your "fiber-wire", and travel from Russia to Malaysia. And you'll have a ton of fun doing just some of these things I've mentioned that Hitman 2 has to offer. Buy this game and you'll find that the countless and very imaginative and cool ways to complete a mission will be rewarding enough and also add value to this game's replay ability.

unlike most games where ultra kill is rewarded this game commends you on your professionalism. I am currently in the japan levels and i am pleased with the way this game challeges you. You have multiple methods of dispatching targets(stranglation, poison, etc) and its a matter of time before I gain stealth assasin level. I recomend this to anyone that like s a mental challenge with good gameplay. I try this game in proffesional (hard) mode so i usually do not get to save during a level but overall this game rocks. very hard. usually takes trial and error to surpass and a real kick butt feeling once you do.

This game is the BEST GAME yet! I love it and it is addictive. With over twenty different levels you can't pass this one up. If you like tom clancy games or other stealth games you will love this. Sometimes you have to be stealthy but other times it is just like vice city. RUN AROUND like a maniac and shoot everything in sight. Please buy it.

Wonderful game but there are some problems

I love games like this, so when I saw this at the store I had to have it.

It has beautiful detailed graphics, great story, good gameplay, excellent concept, good selection of weapons, wonderful music and is a perfect idea. Worth five stars if ya ask me, but why did I give it four? Heres why.

It seems to me like they released the game before they hammered out all the bugs (or at least the real obvious ones). Example: Someone is comeing towards you and you run into a room. You close the door and when the computer tries to open it again you just shut it. Well aparently the computer dosent like that idea because now everyone except you can pass right through the closed door. Strange ehh?

Another Example: At some points in the game I will fall through holes in the ground into what I call "Dark spots". There is nothing around you, you cant go anywhere, you cant shoot and if you save while in one, you load back inside of it...
I think those and other things (and a lot of of other things) should be reported to creator and they should try to fix them before they sell any more copies of it. All in all I give it four stars because other than the many minor bugs, its an excellent game.
