Bad Just Bad.

Hitman seemed like it was going to be lots of fun until It took me 6 hours out of one day just to try to attempt to beat the first mission. I got it this morning and will be trading it in tomorrow. Just for the record I still have not assassinated the Don in the first mission. This game will frustrate you to the point of migraine and that's not something I'd like to endure in my leisure time. I thought video games were supposed to be fun with a bit of a challenge, not this one though, this is all challenge no fun. Dont But it unless you want a headache.

It is a clever and fun game- but it tries to be too realistic and cant quite keep it up (i mean the AI is smart, but how smart can they really be?) It feels akward sometimes, but is still great fun.

Fun stealthy, thinking, and lots of weapons to use

Hitman 2 silent assassin is a very fun game forcing you to think how to kill the target. you can take peoples clothes to disguise yourself for instance in one mission I clorhorm (is that how you spell it?) a waiter and poisened the food that the target ate. or another time that i pretended to be a shrinks patient and killed the shrink. it is definately a thinking game that rewards planning and stealth.
besides all this there is the huge open missions. all the maps are cleverly designed and are very free-form. there is usually atleast three ways to get into a building and some ways are very well hidden. there is also and abundance of weapons from chloroform and katanas to shotguns and sniper rifles. in one mission you even get a HUGE sniper rifle and are supposed to take out a target with it. that doesn't mean that you have to use the rifle though there are "other" ways. my personal favorite is a silenced pistol which i forget the name of. I like the way that before a mission you can go back to the church where the game began and use all the weapons that you have on a dummy. all the weapons are stored in the shed and there is a lot of them. the sheds walls are covered if you get all the weapons. Hitman 2 is definately a good game

I bought the Video Game CD which was used, but it was scratched,
and I didn't play the game.

Long game but worthy ending

Nice graphics, good music, the story line is intriging, and the weapons are plentiful.

I had a hard time with the controls but with practice on the dummy it wasn't too bad.

Wish there was more hand to hand combat options but the stock pile of weapons sort of made up for this shortfall.

I guess if you are a pro at this game you can progress with higher stealth ratings which makes you more of a professional silent assassin. I wasn't good at doing the silent killing much but when the opportunity was there it was pretty smooth.

Hitman can't miss

This is an outstanding game!! I'm hooked on the Hitman series. After playing this one, there was no way I was gonna pass on the follow up, Hitman: Contracts. And I've already pre-ordered the next installment, Hitman: Blood Money.

(NOTE:I am not here to review Hitman 2:SA,i am overviewing the Hitman and other stealth games/series)
There are two stealth game styles:the "Splinter Cell" engine and the "Metal gear Solid" Engine.The SC engine is 100% stealth and being a "ghost" where getting cought is forbidden-plus when you kill an enemy guard you hide his/her corpse where it won`t be found.There is more hidingmless action.
The MGS engine is more free-as you can kill any guard and leave his corpse-and not get punished,Also if you get couaght you can run and hide OR get killed.i prefer the MGS engine as its much more fun,i do like SC but MGS is better.
Hitman i must say is more MGS than SC-as you have two choices "Go on a rampage and kill every living thing(u could do that in MGS)" or "Sneak up on guards(well targets) and kill them nice and quietly" which was the choice you are given in MGS games
The Great Escape was kind of a mixture of both,It was medicre rated,i dunno why,but i loved that game(not as much as MGS,though) despite ugly gaphics.
Hitman is like Metal gear in story as well,you play a clone-Codename 47 who was cloned of five of the top most DANGEROUS CRIMINALS-like MGS`s Solid Snake who was cloned of the "Greatest Soldier of the 20th Century" Big Boss as he saved USA from having a giant tank(like a Metal Gear,but was a tank) shoot a Nuclear Warhead into America`s homeland during the Cold War by the Soviet union.(1964)
Mission:Impossible:Operation SURMA was a SC clone as it used the same gameplay,spy style,etc.
Here i will recommend some stealth games all(SC or MGS-i did like both) for PlayStation 2:

METAL GEAR SOLID 2:SONS OF LIBERTY/SUBSTANCE
METAL GEAR SOLID 3:SNAKE EATER/SUBSITENCE
HITMAN 2:DEADLY ASSASIN
HITMAN 3:CONTRACTS
TOM CLANCY`S SPLINTER CELL
SPLINTER CELL 2:PANDORA TOMMOROW
SPLINTER CELL 3:CHAOS THEORY
THE GREAT ESCAPE
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE:OPERATION SURMA

Graphically Stunning, Yet Virtually Uncontrollable!

I was quite exited while watching the opening cut screens. I was rather disappointed though when I went to the Control Options to see there was absolutely no configuration for my Microsoft Sidewinder Game Pad. How could they possible expect for one to play a game of this caliper using the keyboard only. You'd have to be part human, part "octopus" in order to comfortably move, run, shoot, use items, etc. using the MANY, MANY programmable keys on the keyboard. The Graphics were stunning, but I recommend you play both Hitman games on the game console platform like PlayStation, as opposed to trying to enjoy it on a PC. Maybe the developers at Eidos Interactive will add game pad support to the Hitman 3. Stay Tuned!

Yeah, so being a hitman isn't an easy job, well neither is this game. However, with any ounce of patience, and learning abilities, you can thoroughly enjoy this game. Weapons are great, and there are many different ways to complete each senario. Personally, I like the run and gun approach, but the ability to play as an assasin is great too. This sends the replay value through the roof. Overall, a great game, buy it if you're a patient individual, rent it if you're afraid of not being able to complete a mission in one to two attempts.

This no metal gear or splinter cell.........

One of biggest hurdle of this game is the controls, sometimes this game can get boring, so if you want action then just kill every one in sight or try DEVIL MAY CRY 1 & 3,there's is a wide variety in locations and sometime some scary environments that's realistic and cool, but i can't help myself from saying this game has the moments!!!! when you realise that it's meaninless and lack substance, to keep you focus this game mood must suite you, it not my style however the situation and game play is kinda tacky!!!! i really did not feel motivated to see this game through... but i did it has it's momments and sometimes just for fun you can be a psychotic mass murderer,,,,,,, laterzzzz folks / gamers.....
