U must get this game!!!

This is one of the 3 of the very best video games I have. There is a huge selection of cars and tracks. This game is worth it! My favorite part of the game is when you are the cop, you press R3 and you get flames out of your exhaust pipe and it gives you a turbo boost!

Hot Pursuit Rocks!

Hot pursuit is really fun becauseyou can be the cop and you can get chased by the cops. When you are being the robber, they are going to do roadblocks and spike strips. Listen to when they say spike strips, because you never know if they'll be on the right or left.

And also, here's a tip. On the side the police are there. Bang them hard in the back and they will die. And when you do that, you will earn point and you also earn points going around roadblocks.

Great Car Game

Need for speed is a very fun game once you get the hang of it, but if you have never played it before it might be kind of tricky. The game play in this game are great I love the controls and the turbo its just like any other car game. The one thing that sucks about the controls is that when you turn it is a little sensitive so try nt to turn so much. The Graphics are desant but they could be better. The sound is probably the best part about this game. I mean when you drive with a Lamborghini the engine sounds just like a realy car would sound and I think thats great. Overall this is a great game once you get the hang of it and its really fun to so I am giving it a 4/5.

'HOT' Pursuit? Anything but........

This game has one main thing going for it. Graphics. The soundtrack is rather lacking (unless you like rock/metal and ONLY rock/metal). The physics of the game aren't too crash hot (don't really get a 'feel' for the speed you are doing). And the controls?? EVERY car slides across the track and cornering is especially difficult because of sluggish response time from the controls. As for the track layout some tracks are ok but unlike previous installs of NFS the tracks seem to 'blend' together (i.e. there's nothing that makes one track stand out from another). Visibility on certain tracks is rather bad as at some points along the track you cannot see where the next corner is until you are crashing into it. I've spent in excess of 10 hours playing this game and getting a feel for it and I'd have to say that it's dissapointing. If you want a game that gives you a feel for speed as well as handling of different cars, I'd recommend NFS: High Stakes.

Pure FUN!!!!!

I hesitated buying this game when it first came out despite all the rave reviews. I recently saw it for sale at Best Buy for $20.00 as part of the PS2 Classics series. I went ahead and bought it and i'd have to say I would have paid the full $49.99 it originally cost! What a great game! I'm not a hardcore racing fan. I liked GT3 but found it was a little boring and got way too involved in car theory and terms to be really fun. NFN2 just has the right blend of GT3 style control and all out arcade fun factor mixed in. Music is just right. Great tracks. I would have liked more tracks though. (except the Kid Rock/Uncle Kracker which I really hated, but thats my personal taste!) The game is very detailed with really rich enviroments that makes for great eye candy for anyone watching you race. My only gripe with the graphics is that the signs arnt rendered as well as the rest of the game. ( If you hit a sign and see it wizz past you or see one lieing on the side of the road after you've hit it then you'll know what I mean) The cop mode makes for a great departure from the normal compitition race events. Playing 2 player Cop vs Speeder is really fun! The truck load of items to unloack + the many options you can customize along with the addictive gameplay will assure this one will be a keeper in your collection for a while to come.

One of the best racing games around

Everything about this game is tailored to the racing game enthusiast. From the gameplay to the cars to the scenery and surroundings this is one of the best games you can buy.

First off, NFS2 features some of the most exotic cars known to man. In what other game can you choose from a McLaren, Mercedes CLK or an F50? Not many. And if you need to get some practice in you can take a spin in a Lotus or Aston Martin.

Second, the different gameplay modes will keep you occupied for a long time. You have to complete 32 races with the cops on your tail and 32 regular races to get all the cars. However, you will start earning cars almost immediately. You can add or remove traffic and change the tenacity of the cops.

Third, there are a lot of tracks that make each race a new race. Even though some tracks are just other tracks in reverse, you still won't know every shortcut or sharp bend in the road. The surroundings are depicted so vividly it will feel as though you're actually cruising down a California coast or swerving in and out of Greek ruins.

I've had this game for 6 months and I'm still not tired of it, and believe me, that hasn't been the case with most of my video games. This game is great.

This game is the best car game ever!

All you need to know about this game is that it is better than any other car game there is and if you get it you'll love it. This game has awesome graphics ( no glitches ) and the cars are unbelievable. Just get the game and you won't be able to put it down.

This is the best arcade racing game ever! It might not be completely realistic, but who cares?! I mean, who cares when you can drive awesome cars really fast, run from the police, have bombs dropped on and at you, and you can do it all with a friend. Definitly a must by for all lovers of games, and it's on all of the systems, too, x-box, gamecube,PS2, and PC. DEFINITE FUN FOR ALL AGES AND TYPES OF GAMERS!!!...

SERIOUSLY disappointed!

Well okay. Sure EA did it again with another great Need for Speed game! I got it for the PC a couple months ago.. Wow, the graphics are incredible.Game physics are awesome.. Cars are realistic.. Sound is incredible and realistic... which is what you'd expect from a Need for Speed game!!! However, I found the game play/fun factor itself to be quite lacking. The multiplayer mode is also lacking, which I will discuss later. I was expecting so much more. For the last two years I have been addicted to NFS: Porsche Unleashed. There was so much you could do in that game, you got to buy new and used vehicles...fix them up...upgrade them. You could adjust your gear ratios on some vehicles, and you could adjust suspension set up and ride height, tire pressure, etc etc. You could repaint your vehicle in custom colors with different striping patterns and put a number on it...Even the license plate showed your name! Even in the original Hot Pursuit game, you could play with several aspects of your car from tire type to gear ratios to suspension stiffness and much, much more! Hot Pursuit 2 does not have ANY of this. Yeah, you get to drive a lot of great, fast cars. And sure you can buy upgraded versions of those cars...And of course it's got Need For Speed action, graphics, handling, and sound. But it gets boring driving the same car with the same suspension set up, the same equipment, and the same paint job around the same tracks. Also, now your license plate says "ND 4 SPD". It may not seem like much to a lot of people, but I rather liked being able to customize my plate in Porsche Unleashed! Also, the multiplayer is wonderful, but leaves a bit to be desired. You can't even (that I am aware of) play multiplayer in Hot Pursuit mode on the PC! All you can do is pick your car and your track. You don't even get to choose the upgraded specialty vehicles, you have to pick a stock one! And in the other Need for Speed games, since you were able to perform upgrades to your vehicle and play with the suspension and drivetrain settings, you were able to race against others in multiplayer mode, in the cars you had worked so hard to buy and upgrade!! One other disadvantage of the game is that you have to use your points to buy all the available tracks. Some of them are expensive! and not only do you have to pay for them once, but if you want to race them backward, mirrored, or backward/mirrored, you have to buy each one of those individually as well! On a scale of one to ten, the graphics and sound are a 10. The physics and realism of the game deserve a 10. Multiplayer deserves a 7 (which could easily be a 10!!). Fun factor is a 6 (which could also easily be turned into a 10 by adding some unique options). Difficulty is a 9 -- the game is quite possible to master with experience, but man.. expect to lose quite a few races and have some nice wipeouts when you first install the game!! All in all, I give the game a 6 rating. It was worth [the money] for the PC, but I look to be tired of playing it in 3 - 5 months.

AWESOME GAME AND GOOD PRICE

I BOUGHT THIS GAME FOR MY HUSBAND AND HE LOVES IT. THE GRAPHICS ARE GREAT AND THE CARS ARE BEAUTIFUL ALONG WITH THE SCENERY. IT IS SO REAL LIKE YOU ARE IN THE DESERT, OR FORESTS. I AM A WOMAN AND I RECOMMEND THIS GAME. I WOULD GIVE IT A 10 IF I COULD!
