Flying around the world is great with this one... I started with FY2000 in Seattle, and by the time I made it to London via the Concorde FY2002 came out. The ATC-improvements were quite a help, and I love the IRF setting, too. Sad to see the Concorde go away... would love to see greater selection of airplanes (with all the third-party download sites available you'd think they'd have more of a selection) but at least they have the King Air. Looking forward to FS2004!

I've been an avid Flight Simulator addict since version 5.1 and have seen improvements in each new one. However, the Flight Simulator 2002 tops it. The graphics are amazing, and the ATC (air-traffic-control) really makes it feel like you're up there in a sea of other aircraft. I was also very impressed by the realism of aircraft systems. I have experience with Cessnas, so I know what's real and what isn't.

One thing to consider, however, is your system's aptitude to run such an advanced application. If you don't have at least 32 MB's of VIDEO RAM, you won't have fun. Otherwise, you're in for the ride of your life.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 is AWESOME. It is 100 times better than Flight Sim 2000 and 200 times better than Flight Simulator 1998. The scenrey and all of the graphics are much better. Flight Sim 2002 makes your flying experience as real as it can get with a compter game. If you are a big fan of Flight Simulator and airplanes in general then YOU NEED THIS GAME!!! I've been playing this game since it came out and I'm still not bored with it!! So, if you haven't bought it yet, BUY IT!!!

Great but had some flaws

Found that the landscapes were not detailed enough and its refresh rate was not quick enough, this was most noticeable when looking at the aircraft from the outside. The crash simulations are not detailed enough either. For the price of the game you would expect more. Along with almost 2GB of HD space required barely warrants this game 4 stars. I'm running a Dell 1.7Ghz with a NVidia Geforce 3 Ti 200 card with 256 RDRAM. So I'm positive its not my PC. Hope this helps.

Microsoft flight simulator 2002 is the one of the best game i ever tried.Although, the only problems i have with this game is that it takes up too much space on the hard drive. The new planes are great,The atc is even more great and the graphic improvement is also great. Out of 10 i would give this game a 9.5. If you had previous versions of the game like fs98 or fs2000 you will definately see a improvement.I would recommend you have a proccessor like mine or faster for good performance.

Flight Simulator 2002 w/Compaq 1.3 S3 graphics card

I have a Compaq 1.3 mz processor, 512 ram and a Savage S3 32 meg video card. All graphic games work great with the exception of FS 2002. The panel is fine but the landscape is mostly a blurred mess. Flightsim 2002 also fails and causes the PC to reboot. I had sent failure info to Microsoft but no answer as yet. The graphics on FS2000 is about the same but no failures.

I've bought the flight simulator for years. This version is quite an improvement. Scenery is wonderful. Air traffic control makes the simulation more realistic. The airplane designs are wonderful--Highly recommended

I LOVE Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 Proffesional Edition. There is a instructor with you on the plane that tells you what to do, you can create your own flight. And fly really neat planes. Plus! It comes with a demo of Fighter Ace 2!

Worth the upgrade

This version of FS (Flight Simulator) has the look and feel of Combat FS 2, with Civilian aircraft (you do get a corsair). I could go on about all the great features about FS 2002, but if your a fan of Microsoft's flight simulators you'll end up buying this one too, and it is worth it. I really enjoy the computer generated air traffic and the air traffic control. In short if you want as realistic of a flight simulator as you can get on a home PC, this is the one for you.

The game simply rocks. From its sound effects to its visual detail. It may be a game, and I'm definitly no pilot. But I've travelled a lot on planes during my life (50+ times and I'm only 19) and I have to admit, with the sound turned up and looking down, I swear it feels like I'm actually there. Oh and in regards of the comment of needing a kickass system. May be true, but I'm running it with an athalon 1 gig- Radeon 64 DDR, and everything is smooth. Just to let u readers who might miss out on the chance of playing this awesome game because they though their computer couldn't handle it :)
