A fun game, worth owning.

I picked up Tactics Ogre a while back hoping for an enjoyable rpg experience. Though this game is turn-based, I was not dissapointed at all. Game play is pretty intuitive, I was able to pick up the game and play without having to read much of the manual at all. The graphics are well done, I enjoy the stylized fantasy sprites. The storyline is intriguing enough to keep you interested, also, rather than just speeding through the cut scenes to fight the next battle. All in all if you enjoy turn-based strategy games, Tactics Ogre is worth the money you spend on it.

I have owned this game for quite some time and I also own just about every other video game system ever made. I have played through the game about eight times now. The possiblility of multiple paths as well as different endings makes this game new ever time you play it. The gameplay is involving. The character class system is wonderful. The game, while not graphicly astounding, still looks beautiful. The music is the only thing I think could be better, but it is only a minor thing. If you're looking for a great portable game to joyfully eat up hours over a long trip this is a definite, but I think this game is worth playing even over most new rpgs for the latest and greatest home systems.

One of the best Tactical RPG's to date.

This game is so deep that it is not humanly possible to explain every point to the game. Well, first, let's start off with the story.

It's 15 years after a reformation, and your going to an island to stop a rebellion/conflict. Simple, eh? Haha, no. This story is amazingly deep. In some cases I had trouble understanding what they were doing, since most "E" games are really easy to understand. It's actually like your character's in a war. Treason, battles, death, choices and decisions, and even a turn of events which can lead you against friends.

As for the gameplay, it's awesome. The only con about this is that the battles are LONG. Geh, if your guys aren't beefed up then it might take a while. Healing is a must. It is almost impossible to get through this game without a healing class. I learned this the hard way. Basically, you choose a character and command it to your own will. Then comes the enemy phase, and you must be ready. An onslaught of fierce or maybe foolish attacks will be against you. Be wary if your characters are huddled together, because I spell might vanquish your men. If your characters die, they die! You'll never see them again.

A simple conclusion.

PROS:
- Numerous Weapons and Classes
- Battle style never gets old
- Deep Story

CONS:
- Battles may take longer than you think
- Not being able to spell-cast automatically is annoying
- Choices may hurt in the long run and you may not know it

Thanks for reading.

This game is like the playstation version

The gameboy advance has what I believe only a limited amount of strategic games (if one does not include the gameboy color and gameboy games).

Aside from Advance Wars, this is a great tactical roleplaying game. The game is very similar to the ogre tactics (name may be incorrect) from the playstation if not the same. The characters look very well done and are translated nicely for the small color screen.

The game mechanics is well done and one can get used to how to equip characters and transfer items to others after a few attempts. The emblem concept works well and the various abilities and the requirements to change classes are nicely done as well.

If you like Final Fantasy Tactics (which also rummored to be coming to this system but not real soon), then this game is for you. If you never tried Final Fantasy Tactics but like tactical roleplaying similar to the Shining Force Series where you can decide where the character's move in a 3D-type lanscape (but not in the 1st person view), then this game has a BUY rating from me.

Again, buy this game, buy advance wars, mario cart and buy street fighter for the game boy advance...these four games you can't go wrong with.

This is one of the main reasons i bought GBA, the game has good graphics and a good story too. The battles are fun to play out and you can equip yor guys with lots of items.

Thank God! This is not a FFT!

Team Quest shines once again. Proving that a good game doesn't need fancy graphic, mini-games or 3D CG.

The first Ogre series I played was "Tactic Ogre: Let us cling together". It was fun and good, with all the secrets and that hellish 100-level dungeon (not needed to finish the game but who would miss it :P). Then FFT came... A bitter failure on both ends, a bad final fantasy and a bad tactic. Although it does have fancy graphic and sound, the game itself is just bad... Not a person I know likes that game (all who played every FF series and Ogre series). Everyone was expecting a lot from FFT but it turns out to be a hollow Tactic wannabe w/ fancy graphic.
Anyway, If you like Tactic Ogre: Let us cling together, you'll love this game. It's everything you dream what a Tactic ogre 2 should be. They should have this game on PS1 instead of that FFT. Too bad Team Quest get too little budget... Else they can put all the fancy graphic in (probably on GC) and this will sure be another classic hit in this genre.

Final note: If you love FFT, you probably won't like this game. They may look the same but they're different.

Tactics Oger is a asome game. I own the super nintendo version, was never translated from japanese. I can tell that the game has a rich story line, and (even though I cant under stand what they are saying) the battles are fun and interesting. Most of the people who worked on this game later went on to create Final Fantasy Tactics wich has an Idenical battle system. I have been wating for them to create a (translated) GBA port for Tactics Oger Sence the GBA came out, finaly my wish has come true.

When i got this games i thought dang! with the stunning graphics and great sounds it should be the first game all new GBA owners buy. the game tops out far over 40 hours with multiple choices affecting the places you'll go and which characters you'll run into. With special hidden items like snapdragons (spell to change your character into a sword)it makes you want to level your characters up so you can make the best sword possible! With touches of demonic and heavenly beings you'll be possesed for hours on end!

A Great strategic game

Tactics ogre is one of the best games i've had the pleasure to play. It is the kind of game that makes you want to stay up late playing. In T.O you assume the role of a knight named Alphonse(that's only the default you can make your own) a member of the felis order of the sacred flame. As you progress in the story you have to survive through countless battles in vivid multilevel battlefields. The game is supposed to have 40+ hours of gameplay but I beat it in 30. I still am working on the THREE other possible endings to the game so thats ok.
this game is a great game and I STRONGLY suggest you get the game right NOW... its just that good...
