Can This Be The Best Fighting Game of The Year?

This game just plain rocks. The graphics are great (the characters clothes move around when getting hit by blows and you can even knock people's hats off!), the fighting is great (many different modes too). This game is just plain great.

AWESOME, the best of the best!

This is such a great fighting game, the best I've ever played. The characters are so well designed and the colors are so pleasing to the eye. It's sexy, stunning, and the action sequences are so realistic. I also like that this is in it's original Japanese language, with English subtitles for us English speaking folk to understand. It's way better than any 2d or 3d game I've ever played....so if you have a Sega Dreamcast or about to get one, this game has to be in your personal collection.

A great fighting game.

One great fighting game. DoA 2 is a great game. It has better single player then most other fighters and awesome multi-player. The graphics are some of the best on the Dreamcast. The controls are simple and easy to learn, maybe to easy for some. A definate must buy for any fan of fighting games like Soul Calbur. But if you are strapped for cash and trying to decide between Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive 2, I would advise going with SC.

Not as good as Soul Calibur?!?!? Please!

THIS is the epitome of fighting games at the moment, probably only to be dethroned by Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore for Playstation 2. Everything about the game looks and sounds incredible. The moves are seamless, and while there are some frustrating timing issues, they do not detract much at all. The single player modes, while some might find them lacking due to the horrible story line(what was tecmo thinking?), has a multitude of options. Who really plays a fighting game for the story line anyways??? Once you master story mode (should take all of five minutes) you can move on to sparring the computer at difficulty levels that will make your head spin, the equivalent of very, very, very, very hard. Tag battle mode is great, you can partner up to do moves, and get great tag combos. I have yet to mention by far the best point about this game: the countering system. Blocking? Who needs it when you can take your opponents punch and turn it to your advantage. That feature of gameplay is what truly sets this game apart from the others. Soul Calibur? Looks great, but it is just the typical fighting, one person does combos while the other blocks, and vice-versa. None of that here. For multiplayer, the fact that you can have up to four players is just awesome! Play this game for more than an hour and you will be absolutely hooked. If you have a friend, just one, then this game far eclipses Soul Calibur's multiplayer, which is what truly makes a game great. But if you are lonely with no one to play against, go for the single player longevity of Soul Calibur. I own both, once I got DoA2, Soul Calibur was shelved to gather dust. 3 costumes for some characters in Soul Calibur? Woo-Hoo!! How about 7 for a few in DoA2? That's right, 7. The list of positives goes on and on, not enough to write in a mere 1000 words. Buy this game now!!

This game blows chunks

Horrible. Bad controls, clunky, clumsy character movement and totally easy to beat. Only thing that deserves praise is the nicely done character renderings. Oh...and the storyline of the game DOES NOT MAKE SENSE! Move on, nothing to see here...Soul Calibur is still the better game here.

Fantastic Graphics and Fun

If you love fighting games like Soul Calibur then you will like DOA 2 even much more. DOA has so tag battles team games survival story mode and much more options not to be spoiled away. Also there are many secrets hidden in this game like playing as the boss and another mystery player. Playing the story mode over and over may be boring at times but thats why there are so many options to play this game. ALso the graphics are just eye-popping and unbelievable. If you never played a 3D fighting game before, this one will make you like it.

Boring

This is nothing compared to Soul Calibur or Street Fighter Alpha 3 or Marvel vs Capcom 2: This game gets old fast. Maybe worth a rent but not a buy. Honest, just because it looks pretty doesn't make it fun to play. Bouncy breasts aside this game is dull. Although it looks much better than it's PSX2 counterpart due to antialiasing. Go buy the other fighters I mentioned if your a hard core fighter.

It's no Soul Calibur. Lacks alot of extras... I mean c'mon - of course I want a great arcade port, which this is, but it's for a console... where are the extra's? The layout and character design just plain ..... Just compare the quality of the voice acting in DoA2 with Soul Calibur and you'll see what I mean.
