This isn't a typical action game or RPG and that's a good thing. AC is an in depth and complicated story about an assassin who lived many years ago. The gameplay is somewhat monotonous but as you go along, you will have fun facing different foes and mixing up your strategy.

It does take awhile for it to start to really get good. However, it pays off because you learn to fight better and you can take on swarms of enemies at a time. The most fun is not being stealthy, it's running through the crowd, killing your target in the open and drawing your sword as if to say "Come on, take me if you can!" I wouldn't recommend this behavior early on in the game, as your weapons are weaker and your abilities in combat are limited.

The end of the game is easier than I thought it would be (when you fight your master) and the payoff is a cliffhanger buit I am definitely intrigued as to what happens next.

My problems with the game are few but here they are anyway:

After you solve it, there's no real replay value. You can replay memories but you can't go as if you already did what you had to do. You have to start over and re-assassinate your targets.

Some people have mentioned this and it happened to me to. Every so often, the game would freeze and I'd have to shut the console down and restart the game. This however is only a minor annoyance, since I never had to go far to get to where I left off.

That's about it for the gripes.

In all, I enjoyed this game immensely.

Assassin's Creed- The Most Unique Game Ever Created

Assassin's Creed is one of the most unique games ever created. Assassin's Creed is interesting because it takes place in the Holy Land during the Crusades. You play as Assassin Altier, an assassin during the Crusades. You are part of an organization called the Assassin's Creed. The Creed is a list of laws that you must follow.
1. don't harm an innocent. (you can kill a random civilion, but you lose health.)
2. Hide in plain sight. (hide by disguising yourself as a civilion, strike, and hide again. Never let anybody find you.)
3. Never dishonor the Creed. (keep the brotherhood safe and don't break the first two laws)

Assassin's Creed plays out like a movie. In the beginning of the game, a bartender named Desmond is kidnapped in the modern world by a scientist. The scientist sticks Desmond in a machine that reveals the memories of our ancestors. Sure enough, Altier is Desmond's ancestor.
Once the game goes back in time, there is an extremely long cutscene that shows how Altier breaks the Creed. After that, Altier is thrust into a warzone as he defends his town from Crusaders. Once that is over, there is another really long cutscene that shows Altier's master killing Altier. Altier comes back to life however. (You understand how at the end of the game.)
In order for Altier to stay as an assassin, he must complete his training again. After he completes training, he is charged with killing nine important leaders in an attempt to end the Crusades.
This is where you come in. After this part, everything is handed over to you. You can ride into any city and assassinate the leaders in any order you like. (the first mission is always the same though. You have to assassinate one of the men first before you can move on to the free world gameplay.)
However you take out your targets is up to you. You can come up behind them and drive a dagger in their neck, you can throw knives at them, or you can come in with your sword swinging.
Each one of the missions gets harder and harder, until they are almost impossable. The ending is very confusing and doesn't offer much of a closer. BUT!, the game leaves a huge opening for a sequel.
There are several other missions that you can preform. Sometimes you have to sit on a bench and evesdrop, or pickpocket delivery men. Other times, you just have to beat the information out of your target. (And then kill him.) You can also go around and save citizens being pushed around by guards. There are also a certain number of flags in every level that you can go around collecting. You can also climb buildings and towers to get your surrondings and find out where your target is. (Everything is Asssassin's Creed is extremlely natural. Nothing looks as though you could climb it. You just happen to be able to.) Lastly, my personal favorate, you can go around and assassinate Templar soldiers who set up their own camp in random places around the city and try to kill you if they see you. (They are kind of anti assassin assassins.)

Assassin's Creed is one of the best games ever created and you will remember it for years to come.

2nd best PS3 Game

This game is a blast. After I downloaded the patch, this game just hummed right along. Let me break down my rating:

Game Environment - Outstanding Detail & glorious views of the cities, characters move flawlessly, hustle and bustle of the cities, loud crowds, and interesting characters

Character AI - Smart, but not so much so. It's almost impossible to stealth assassinate the targets b/c of the crowds, but it does get a bit more difficult as you go along

Storyline - I enjoyed the storyline very much. Obviously, some people could be turned off by the belief and themes expressed, but it appears to be true to the time and people involved. There's a lot of fantasy combined with a healthy mix of accurate details that really piques the curiosity.

Gameplay - The only weaknesses appear to be here. Though your skills increase as you go along, you get caught up in the same fights over and over. The sword strikes are always similar, and the routine missions can be a bit monotonous - however, they can also be very fun - but I'm not sure how enemies in body armor can climb up the side of the building faster than you can...

I give this about a 4.5 out of 5. Outstanding game, kind of a weird end to the game though, after the credits I mean. You look at the bedroom wall & then there's nothing to do, but it doesn't fully end...waiting on the next installment

Assassin's creed

Assassin's creed is a very cool and high-tech game. The rating for the game is rated m for robust language, violence, and blood. I would give this game an A for effects, animation, and weaponry.
I would perua someone to play this game because it has history and present in it. What I mean is that in the beginning you go into this lab and these people tell you about your ancestor who was an assassin. So they take you back in time and you become the assassin.
The next reason someone should play this is because it is a 21 century game. I think this because the effects for this game are very high-tech and the action is sweet. The game to me is one of the best games in 2008,and it is so realistic.
The one thing I like about the game is the weaponry in it.
What I think is that the characters in the game look really cool and their weapons. The guy you play has lots of blades like throwing knives, sword, short blade on your back, and a dagger that comes out of his wrist. The people you kill have bows and swords to.

This is an excellent game with great graphics. Not so much replayability. Sometimes it is too hard.

Stunning graphics, boring play

Assasin's Creed indeed does graphics to a whole new level. But it comes at a price of maximizing PS3's CPU and Video Card, and there is some lag in response times which doesn't exist in other "lower quality" graphics games.

For example, the main character is very limited in the speed of his movement. And the response times between his movement and the gamepad is sometimes significant, especially during the fighting scenes.

The game also gets very repetitive. You will probably not want to finish this game more than once, which to me is the ultimate test of a game. If you want to play the game repeatedly, that is a hallmark of a good game. This game fails that test.

You will be enthralled with the graphics, storyline, and gameplay for the first 5-6 hours. After that, you will probably end up playing something else, like I did.

Not a fan of the ending.

The game was good throughout. Had many hours of fun killing everyone in the streets. However, I must complain about the ending. Not to spoil the game for anyone who hasn't played it yet but just to let you know, the game ends abruptly. So abruptly that I thought there was something wrong with my disk! I restarted the the game only to find that my PS3 was working perfectly fine and the fault is with the game's publishers. I guess they're trying get us "hooked" so that we'll buy Assassin's Creed II!!! I hate the marketing people / game designers who decided to ruin a perfectly great game by ruining the stupid ending!

D'oh!!!

Good things:
1. Eviroment. Living world where you can interact.
2. Gameplay... screw it. (Same feeling haft way into the game) Don't bother finishing it and hoping that the cut-scenes can be skipped, since you've finished the game. They still make you sit and watch. Great time to go to the restroom or get a snack.

Here is why is sucks.
1. You don't really get to do much of anything. Haft the abilities are available when the storyline wants you to do it. The only thing you can do is stab, running around and get into fights. The biggest flaw in this game is being forced to watch all of the cut-scenes. ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS PLAY THE CHARACTER AND THEY WON'T LET YOU! The twist, in the beginning. The adds are hype and a f-ing lie. Uncharted, get that. Download the demo and trying out. Their was a reason why it was a secret and the secret is that it sucks.
