When I first played R.E. code: Veronica, I thought it was the best dreamcast game that i have ever played. in fact, i still do. It is so great because it has the suspencefulness of R.E.2 plus a better and slightly more twisted story. i bought the game about 3 months after it came out, and i still have fun playing it. the battle game that you get when you finish the game is a sweet addition, it is like the mercinary mode in R.E.3 only with out the time limit, and the weapons that you get when you beat the game with a sertain ranking are still there. but on the down side, the resident evil esque controls of turn-and-advance are still here but they are easy to get used to. and, ladies and gentlemen, what you've all been waiting for in a resident evil game, moving camera angles and souped up dreamcastgraphics! on the down side though, this is the hardest R.E. game by far, you soon get over that too as you play. in conclusion, this is the best game in the series, and i reccomed it to anyone with a dreamcast and [money] buring a hole in their pocket.

SUPER GREAT GAME

Ok I had his game when I was younger, I since have sold my dreamcast to stay with the times, I just seen the resident evil movie and I wondered what system I had that game for, and then I found it DREAMCAST (boy that brought back memories), well anyways I had to buy the system all over again just to buy this game. but make sure that you are up for the challenge, I had to buy the walk thru guide with this game because sometimes it does get difficult all in all...BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too many zombies, not enough ammo.

The graphics in this game are awesome, especially since it was made 5 or 6 years ago. I've had it for many years, although I've never made it past the first disc. Honestly, I cannot figure out how I'm supposed to kill the Tyrant who jumps into the plane with you. By that time I'm completely out of ammo and all I have are health items and a knife. The knife is only useful for killing bats, but otherwise you'd be better off trying to STARE the Tyrant to death than use a knife. It does work well on zombies in this game, however. They don't whirl around and grab you as fast like in the other games. Plus, they sometimes don't even seem to notice you unless you get right up close. I love how Claire looks in this game. If she were real she'd be the most gorgeous thing on Earth. Seriously. But anyway, the zombies in this game are also extremely frightening. They reused the same groaning sounds from RE2 for them, which I wasn't expecting. In the first three RE games, there's always a bunch of naked cadavre zombies right at the end of the game that surpass every other zombie up till that point in ugliness, but the zombies in this game ALL are more frightening that any from previous games. They have pale blue skin, they're torn up all over, and if you make a zombie in this game angry they start running and growling angrilly. The zombies in this game are easier to dodge and kill with a knife, so you'd think it would be easier to conserve ammo, but somehow it's just impossible to save ammo for the battle with Tyrant on the airplane. I've thoroughly checked every area in this game for any possible hidden ammo, but there doesn't appear to be any. I think I'll need a cheat code for the Tyrant, because there just doesn't seem to be any way to kill him normally. The second disc sounds pretty hard, so I may need to conserve all my ammo for that one fight. Just a suggestion, folks.

I love this game, it has a good storyline and a creepy setting. You have two playable characters, Claire and Chris, but Chris comes later in the game. This is by far the coolest Resident Evil game that I've ever played.

Hordes of Zombies killer dogs Freaky bossesandcover-up

Hordes of zombies, killer, Freaky bosses and a Multi-national Parmcutacal cover-up. It can't get any better than that. When I first heard about the RE series I was reading a Electronic Gaming Monthly and it was about RE. Just a couple mounths ago I got this game Resident Evil: Code Veronica. It has been the best game i have ever played in my life. After awhile the zombies, dogs, hunters, bandersnacthes, etc jumping at you becomes a reflx. My first time playing I just shot the living... out of everything with my MP-100'S and M93r. Not cosering ammo. So when I got to tranyt(second battle) Yes you battle him twice. If you ever heard of Umbrellas most ultimate Bio-Organic Super Soilder is back. Well all I had was a grenade lanucher 6-acid rounds, 6-flame, and 3-gas rounds. Trust me their not as powerful as you think. Well HE KILLED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well after a breack(1 month) the rath of THE ZOMBIE KILLER CHRIS
returned. Ya named after the best charater Chris Redfeild. Well the MP-100's that you get early in the game the first I used them up almost before the palace. This time the first tranyt battle. Well right now I am at steve when he mutats into more of a cartoon charater. Well long story short if not to late
Pros: Weapons
Martax style shooting
Zombies and other blood thristy killers
Effects cutsceens
Everything
Cons: Nothing but hard bosses litten up!!!

I can't wait for RE2 to arrive.

I am a HUGE fan of Resident Evil!!! Can't get enough of the stuff! From creepy distortions of realistic gruesome zombies to all of the wild monsters who lurk about, this sci-fi adventure is my kind of game! Although I have all of the other Resident Evils, this one tops it all by a mile - possibly my favorite game of all time! RE Code: Veronica is just an unspeakably excellent game! The graphics are obviously top notch; real gruesome and flabbergasting (not for the weak of heart), and packed with(what would a RE game be without it) tons of cinemas using the Dreamcast's full capacity. This two-disk terror will keep you obligated for weeks (at least it did for me)! Capcom really shows their ability here! I mean, this game's creepy atmospheres really give you that flesh-tingling feeling and the bosses are superb - very creative and have the best suspenseful music to go along with them! These bosses will have you frightened when facing them! Also, the storyline is one of the best storylines I have ever seen in a game - and it is delivered perfectly, a real shocker! Still, however, the controls are the same as the previous REs(awful for the beginner, but they're no sweat to pick up after a bit!). Seriously, folks, Capcom really spent a lot of time in making this - it is FULL of quality (you can tell as soon as the introduction cinema starts). As far as I'm concerned, this is worth six stars, OUTSTANDING GAME! Go out and BUY IT NOW!

Code Veronica is a good game but it lacks in key areas

First of all, the graphics are outstanding. There is some fog and a little slowdown but thats hardly noticable. Simply put, these graphics are some of the best to be seen on any console... period.

The sound is good... the music helps set the "scary mood" of the game, and the zombies have those moaning voices that we've all come to love. But unfortunatley, the zombies still have the best voice actors. Yup, Veronica has bad voice acting (of course) just like in every Resisdent Evil game. But actually, it has improved a bit, but it is still annoying and pretty poor.

The control is a little awkward at first, but once you get used to it you'll be running around and blasting zombies no problem.

Veronica's gameplay hasn't changed a bit, except for the fact that the dodging feature was takin away :( . But the 180 degree turn still remains, fortunately.

Just like the other RE games, you will be destroying all kinds of different monsters including zombies, zombie dogs, etc, while solving... FRUSTRATING, BORING, ANNOYING, and sometimes POINT-LESS puzzles. Like alot of times to get a key, you gotta have another key, or some type of stone, etc. It's just so stupid! I couldn't stand it. Well we all know what puzzles lead to... BACKTRACKING!!!! And in Veronicas case, theres a damn lot of it. Don't be surprised if you visit the same building for the 15th time on a puzzle mission, because it's very common in Veronica...

These frustrating puzzles and the constant backtracking takes away alot of the fun from the game, drastically. But this isn't the only problem. In Veronica, there simply isn't enough ammo, healing items, and weopons around. A lot of times, you will find yourself stuck in situation with no ammo ...occasionally at bosses too! Because of this, you are forced to take VERY good notice of how much ammo and other items you use.

So don't just go out and buy the game, RENT IT FIRST! Don't get me wrong, I liked the game, but the oh-so-familiar gameplay, frustrating puzzles, constant backtracking, and lack ammo, weopons, and healing items bring the games fun factor down considerabley.

If You Thought RE3 Was Freaky...

Then you'll be completely blown away with the sheer "gameplay fright" as I like to call it-the one thing that RESIDENT EVIL CODE: Veronica does better than any other survival horror game on the market. It definately pulls no punches when it comes to scaring the living heck out of you, and still sticks with the tried and true formula that we're so familiar with-run around wacky looking backgrounds and plowing through room after room of Zombie filth. Not that there's anything wrong with that, right? In fact, I think it's more of the same that makes this RE installment so great. That, plus Code Veronica does it with such style and finesse-it's just one of those games you can't put down. It's already getting very serious look for "Game of the Year" consideration, are you excited yet? So it seems that the search for Claire's bro. Chris has led her to a small isolated island owned by the Umbrella Corp. And also it seems Claire gets caught BY Umbrella and is imprisioned in a jail, that she must escape, blast mudholes in some FLESH eating Zombies before they munch her cute little face right off, find her brother, and escape the island. Oh, and by the way, you guys remember Albert Wesker from RE1 right? The one who got KILLED? Well guess who's back? And he ain't playin' games no more.

Although formulaic, still great entertainment!

The latest installment of the RE series is a very great game. The graphics are super, the sound outstanding and the interplay fun. Sure there are some drawbacks (cheesy, campy dialogue, uncomfortable controls), but they can't detract from the game's overall brilliance. The proof: once you start playing, you really don't want to stop (no matter how early you must get up in the morning!)

Better than RE1 and RE3/Nemesis, it does fall short of RE2 because, although technologically superior, REC:V's story is weaker. There is less tension and emotion throughout the game and the final boss battle in REC:V is very bland and disappointing in comparison to the exciting, pulse-pounding escape/train sequence that closes out RE2 in grand fashion.

Still, great graphics, exceptional sound effects and the sheer number of monsters ready to tear your head off (although they're mostly very familiar from prior games)are enough to get the recommendation nod from me.
