One of the best games I've played for any game system.

I can't even believe they can make great games like these on such a little system. This isn't just the best GBA game, it's easily one of the best games for consoles period. Once you start training mode you won't want to stop until your done and ready for campaign mode. Just a warning though: this game is extremely addictive, don't intend to play unless you plan to finish.

The game boy player coming out soon will make it an even better game, except it might be forgotten when the sequel comes out in a couple of months.

The second best

Advance wars was for sure the second best game I have ever played. The best was Advance wars 2. If you don't have it don't even bother buying, buy Advance Wars 2, because it has better graphics, more characters and units and old and new war room maps.

I keep searching for more games like Advance Wars. (Please make more, I'm a willing customer!)

It is by far the best strategy game I have ever played. As other reviewers have said, this game is a challenge for advanced gamers, but not for kids.

The game starts with a tutorial that teaches you all of the different combat units and how to use them. From there, you can either play the campaign mode or move on to individual battle maps, which can be played multiple times. You can choose your own commander, who have their own advantages and disadvantages.

This game has an incredible replay value and will suck you in for hours at a time. This is a must-have game for someone wanting a really challenging strategy game.

When i first saw this, I looked at the box and thought "Kiddie Game", but I bought it anyway because of the reviews. Man was I wrong. This is one of the best games eva. You have command of different ground, air, and sea units. You either destroy all the enemy units or capture the enemy headquarters to win a battle. Its got great controls and since you can play as 3 co's this game is never done for. You can get a good 30hrs out of this game, maybe more. This game is great fun for adults as well as teens like myself. I don't think I'd recomend this game for anyone under 10, simply because it is so challenging. Also, be aware that you don't do the shooting, it is done by the computer.(Which is good, because there wouldn't be any strategy if the damage depended on how good you blew up the enemy)

The numbers stand as follows:

Gameplay:10
Graphics:6(they don't matter much but they are just so decieving.)
Multiplayer:10
Replayability:10

36 out of 40 Well done Nintendo

Let's blow some stuff up!!!

I have to admit to being a little taken aback by the packaging of this game initially. The cartoonish box had me thinking this was probably a game suited to a younger crowd. Boy was I wrong. This game has it all, action, strategy, love, war. Okay maybe not love, but it definitely has all that other stuff. Be prepared to get sucked into this game and play for hours on end. It burns time like few other games I've ever played. But, not in a boring manner, it's very engaging. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys RPGs with more of a traditional battle field twist.

Superb!

I think this game is the best one out for the GBA. It has kept me occupied for months and i still can't stop playing. There are tons of things to do other than Campaign mode like the War Room, Vs. Mode, and Design Maps mode. But all this comes after you complete Field training. The campaign mode is pretty tough if you do not use your troops carefully. Though the battles become increasingly harder as you advance through them, it still ends up to be an amazing game in the end.

As good as it gets.

This is a must buy for all GBA fans. It's both challenging and fun at the same time(which, believe me, is hard to find). First of all, you have to exercise your skills in Field Training (about 10 or 15 missions), then you have to beat campaign mode (I'm not sure how many levels, but a lot!), then you can go on to the countless levels in Vs. Mode, War Room, and Design maps (which goes into Vs.Mode).
So, if you are smart, spend days and days of your life playing this fantastic game!!!!

A great game has landed upon the shores of America after taking over Japan. your mission, go out buy this game and don't get too addicted! This is a great strategy game! It's like a hybrid of Warcraft and Risk only so much better (if you've ever plaid Empire Deluxe this is very similar). Great single player, great multi player, and customized maps. Plus, you only need ONE game boy advance to play multi! The controls are very simply and a great (but forced upon you)tutorial. Graphics are good and in anime style. If only all games (especially for GB and GBA) were this great....

Advance Wars or Bust!!!

Advance Wars is one of the best games to come to the GBA yet, it is addicting and extremely fun. Command troops by air, land, and sea to defeat multiple enemies. Advance Wars also has a map editor to create your own custom scenarios. Link up with up to four of your friends. This game is worth every penny you spend on it.

Finally, one of Nintendo's most loved games in Japan will ship in America. AW(advance wars) features crisp graphics and challenging(at least the earlier games were) gameplay in a Real time stragey format. You control modern day war equipment(tanks, jets, etc) against at least one opponant, with the point being to eliminate the enemy. Also, it comes in a kid-friendly format, backed by the "E" rating. Don't be fooled though, this game, unlike some critism following Nintendo, isn't just for kids. In Japan, this game is as popular as pokemon(almost) and played by kids and adults alike. When the release come closer, this is a must-see title, and i recomend reading more about it when more information is available.
