Fun but not very challenging

I loved the first rollercoaster tycoon so i though that 3 would be really good. i love the game but its not very chanllenging. I beat the scenarios in about 2 weeks. On the plus side you can create characters and put them in your park and the 3d graphics and fireworks are really good!!! I would totally recomend this game!!

Does anyone know how to get it to work!!!

I have a system that far exceeds the requirements needed to run this game. But all I can get is the intro screen when I click on play it comes up with an error. Being a huge RCT fan and have every expansion pack for both the first 2 naturally I went out and bought this the day it was released. But I haven't been able to enjoy it. Everyone is complaining about the graphics and the rest of it....I wish I could even try it once. And ataris 24/7 hotline...well when I called it...I got no answer call back monday!!! Some 24/7....I will be returning this and will never buy another atari game again. And fyi Atari....My friends were waiting to see if I liked this before they went to buy it because I was an expert of the first two...well needless to say I won't be recommending this problem layden game to them, I wouldn't wish this headache on my worst enemy....CHRIS SAWYER Please come back and give us one the good old days!!!!

Amazing Game but Upgrade Your PC

This is a dramatic improvement over previous versions IMHO. I am a casual gamer so the WOW factor of the graphics is important. And boy will the graphics blow you away.

Most of the complaints voiced so far have been from people with older systems and I would agree that it would be no fun at all to play this with even an average system. Fortunately I had upgraded my systems for Everquest 2 which is even more demanding but even with a 3.4 GHz Hyperthreading P4 1 Gig mem with a 6600GT Nvidia (PCI Xpress) I can get as low as 3 Frames per second when riding VERY complex roller coasters. That being said it is also the closest you can get to riding a real one without actually doing so.

So if you have a lower end system stay away until you can afford to upgrade.

A GREAT GAME! WORTH YOUR MONEY!

Roller coaster tycoon 2 was a good game but the expansion
packs were worthless. When I first heard about about roller coaster 3 I diden't think it would be much different, but as I
saw the screenshots and they annonced feture after feture it grew
on me. Some of the new fetures are:
Coaster Cam:This is a huge inprovment! when you don't have anything to do riding your rides is fun. you can ride almost any
ride, except the one's that require guests to walk, you can even chose you'r car.
Fireworks mixmaster: allows you to creat amazing firework shows and set them to music, or your own music.

Inproved peeps: Now your guests come in familys and also in dates
there are no two peeps alike. they have what seems an endless supply of thoughts, and now special VIPeeps come into your park if you please them you'll be rewarded.
Sand box mode: YIP! YIP HOHAY! sandbox rocks. you have unlimited money and land plus, no objective! you canmake the park of your dreamas.
Peep editer: Make your own familys, assing a leader and wack them come to your parks they'll spklit up then meet each other again. You can see the talking about what to do next.
Sanario Editer: new and inproved! you can have everything in your park. Select all the rides not just a limited number.
you can build the park so it'll start with rides in your park. there are a ton of different objectives to chose from.
3-D graphics: amazing! your park looks much more inprissive than it did in number 2. You have conplete control over the camra. You can zoom WAY IN and WAY OUT! Turn the camra to your desire so you can view your your park from any angle.
Coaster and building desinger: build HUGE rides and buildings with this. Then ride your crazy ride that no one else would (if it's really cazy).
Inport your own music or MP3s: now you can lisin to your favorite music while playing the game.
Inport your old rides from 1 ande 2: bring your favorite rides from 1 and 2 into 3-D 3!

A great game, defenetly worth your $40, everthing is amazing!

Note: Read the system requirements so your do not have problems even so, consider freeing up some disk space.

With the Right Video Card & Memory THIS IS THE BOMB!

I have been a Roller Coaster Tycoon fan since the beginning, so I was excited to hear that the 3rd was coming out. I did not purchase it in the beginning, because of the reviews I saw. However, as long as you have a 3D video card with at least 64MB and at least 256MB RAM this is the best. I absolutely love this game and it is much better than the previous 2. Download the patch from the website and you will get even more of your favorite features. If you have the video card and the RAM, buy it!

Buyer Beware!!!!!

My son was given this as a gift from his grandmother. He has every other Rollercoaster Tycoon thing there is, but THIS one would not install. The CD code was wrong. I finally resolved this through the Atari Tech Support site. However, the tech support guy told me that the majority of the people who buy this will not have the appropriate video card. So my advice is to read the system requirements very carefully and do not assume that because you can run the others, that you'll be able to play this one. - Now that my son has it installed, he is having a good time. Hopefully it won't crash....only time will tell.

not as bad as you all think

i've played all the previous roller coaster tycoon games and i must say i perfer this too previous titles. i was not confused by the interface, in fact i found it easy to jump right in. my copy is from launch day and is barely buggy at all.the coaster cam is defianately a feature i've been waiting for and i feel no remorse for the loss of pointless old themes that i never cared about anyway. this is a huge step step forward for this series

Save yourself the headache - buy another game

What a dissappointment. I bought this game for my son (from St.Nick). We have never gotten it running. RCT 3 has its own call-in help line (you pay the LD charges) that I have had to call countless times - but to no avail.

I have a 1 1/2 year old Dell 4550 desktop that exceeds all the requirements listed on the box yet had to upgrade the sound card and video card.

Under "trouble shooting" its lists numerous problems that exist with this game and all users are reccomended to install a "patch" [...]

My son & I are masters of RCT 1 and RCT 2 and got "taken for a ride" with this one. [...]

After downloading the demo from Atari, I was amazed at the high level graphics, effects, and ease of use. My new laptop with 512MB Ram had some difficulty in high res, but my home built desktop with 1024 -- was perfect -- the game screamed on it! So my only warning is that you'll need adequate RAM to run this game --- but the payoff is huge. Can't wait for the full release!

No Fun if you arent an expert

I been playing rolling coaster tycoon for a long time. The game is so complicated that it took me an hour to find the zoom button. It crashes which makes it even awful. This isn't easy as rct 1 or 2 , so i wouldn't recommend it for kids.
