Better than what you'll think

This is going to be a reallys unique Sims game. Instead of the pick here type you can actual control you sim just as if you were playing an RGP or any other game where you can wonder around and move. Since you control it you can only have an NPC room mate, and you can have cat or a dog too. You can drive the car and do mini games, and just do regular The Sims stuff. there are 8 different mini games like lawn mowing, cliff diving and pizza game. You can also have your sim actuall swim in the pool and be able to control it. There are no kids in the game and you can't build a h ouse but only decorate the premade houses. There are levels you have to complete, and it should take you a good 30-40 hours just to do levels, but you can spend as long as you wanting playing it. There are 150 unlockable objects and there is a new auction mode. You can also hook it up to you Gamecube The Sims and trade simleons and objects too. Overall it's a must for any The Sim fan.

This version of Bustin Out is completely different from other versions of bustin out. I love that you can control your person while she drives her scooter around town. It is a bit more free play. You still have the goals to meet and objects to obtain. You visit a store in order to purchase items for your home. There is also a pet store to buy pets from and a gift store to buy gifts to give to friends.

The design of your sim is very limited. They have tops and bottoms. You can change the colors but not the style. Same thing going on with the shoes. You pick a face and then the hair style and color.

In the end it is a fun game to play. It is nice to have the portability of the gameboy. I love laying in bed with my gameboy and this game. It is easier to handle than a lap top and that puts it on the top of my list.

Most fun I have had playing the Sims yet!

Having played the PC Sims and enjoying it, I found The Sims Bustin' Out for the GBA to a slightly more addictive and amusing game. The main ingredient here is the possibility to explore terrain with your created Sim, on foot or on a later aquired Moped. There is just enough customization to make gameplay compelling, (who to befriend, what color clothes and moped, what objects to buy. The game might be a little to linear for some in that during portions of the game you are moved ahead without a choice prompt from the game (example your first apartment) However the game keeps itself fresh by enabling further exploration of the town which is always up to you and with alot of humorous moments meeting NPCs. The ability to save at any moment is also a + for time constricted gamers. Terrific graphics and Sound FX (the crickets get a little annoying) The ability to upload a Sim to your GBA from the GC to enhance $ and character is a definite + as well. This one will probably stay glued in your GBA for awhile once you start. 5 stars even non Sims fans will probably have a good time in SIMVILLE on the GBA

Awesome game!!!

I love Sims Bustin Out! I got it for Christmas this year, and I can't put my gameboy down. The graphics are amazing, and you have so many options. It is great because you can guide your sim around without having to click where you want them to go, unlike regular sims. I also love that you can take sims wherever you want to now that there is a version for gameboy advance.
You start out living with your uncle, and you have to complete several goals in order to move into your house. You then recieve more goals, and you get jobs to earn money. You can get promotions, etc. All in all, it is a really fun game, and I reccomend it. I haven't tried the other consoles, but from what I have heard, they have even better graphics.
Pros:
can take it anywhere
great graphics
awesome gameplay and goals
Cons:
Diolouge is slightly limited

A Different Kind of Sims

I didn't think I would like this game. Starting out there aren't many option when creating your Sim, there's no house building at all, and you have to move this little person which seemed...cheap(?). But, hello! It had me hooked quick with soooo many goals, and witty dialogue choices, funny characters. There are still the classic Sim needs that you have to fulfill. You need to do little mini games in order to get job promotions, which are fun. Before playing my first impression was of a simple Pokemon style game with no depth. Not so! This game is as addictive as all The Sims games. I just got it today and I love it (have already played for about 3 hours). If you're wondering I have (and have been addicted to) The Sims for PS2, and The Sims Deluxe with the Vacation expansion pack. This is a great game for everyone...

High expectations were met

It is important to remember that this is the FIRST Sim Game for GBA. This game is increadibly fun. It's kind of different from the sims for pc in the sence that you don't tell the character what to do you steer them right next to an object and then do it. You actually use the controll pad for walking. Also when talking to a person you'll have a list of things to say and you select one in hopes of saying the right thing and raising relationship points. The objectives in the game come in sets but, you do not need to acomplish all goals in a set to recieve a new one. Missions include getting a certain relationship score, finding junk around town, talking to certain people, and outfitting your house. (You change houses about 3 times as you get new jobs) The last thing that really sets it apart from the pc is the awesome mini games! The "Jobs" or mini games are your primary income and are so fun.

Rattings out of a possible 10

Sound Quality 9

Lasting ability 8 (You can keep playing after you have finished all objectives)
Graphics 10 (Everything is very distinguishable wich is shocking for such a small screen)

The Sims Are Comin' With You!!!!!

Once on your home PC, now out with you in the car. I can promise you, this game is PERFECT for long car trips. First I will display my advantages for this:
~You get to move your Sim with the D-pad! No more ordering your Sims where to go!
~No expansion packs needed! You can buy pets in this too!
~Hook up with other GBA's and trade items!
~Close up chats with other people! You can see their face and pick things to say to them.
~Hook up with your Game Cube and gain access to Paridise Island!

Disadvantages:
~(On one saved file)Once you beat all the levels, you can't play it freely!
There aren't many I could think of!

One thing I also like about this game is that after you defeat one saved file, you can make new ones and it never gets boring!
I hope my review was helpful and that you will consider buying this game.

I am too old to be spending so much time playing a game!

I have played Sim games since the original (and very basic) Sim City game came out sometime in the late 80s.

I did not expect the GameBoy Advance version of SIMS to be just like the PC game. How could it? Even my PC can't handle that game at times.

However, for such a small, portable system as GBA I think this is a very well done game.

The locations are much more extensive than I expected -- and the game play is very well thought out.
(If only TSO had been thought out this well.... sigh.)
There are many NPCs and many, many goals.
Making money is not tiresome... and you see results and game advancement constantly.

I suspect that if I played this non-stop I could probably have it finished in a day or so -- but since it is SIMS -- there are still other things I could go back and do as a different SIM, in a different game.
I could sass people instead of being nice... I could pee in public and get arrested... I could probably even practically live in the local bar if I wanted (although this would delay "advancement" it is another way I could choose to play).

I am sure this is not as flashy as the Bustin Out for GameCube or other consoles... and I know it is nothing when compared with current PC Sim games... but for a game smaller than my thumb -- that works on a console I can fit in my pocket -- it is an excellent product.

Well worth the Simoleans!

This game is incredible. Just like the original sims, it is a bit deceptive. At first glance it appears to be just a novelty... next thing you know it's 4am and you've broken out in a cold sweat, your thumbs hurt, and you promise yourself you'll go to sleep after you unlock the next goal. It is highly addictive fun. If you are a fan of the original Sims, you will not be disappointed.

I have a hard time getting into fantasy role playing games because I could never keep the goals straight. I never quite knew why I was doing the things I was supposed to be doing... Sims is just like real life. (okay it's closer to real life). The goals and missions are not foreign, they make sense. There isn't any magical quest or a princess to save, the sims could take place right in your neighborhood.

A Game that is Hard to put Down

When I first got the sims bustin out,i thought you could build houses like the computer game. But that isnt the truth. You have goals and once you reach all of them in your section you get promoted to a better house. At first i thought i wouldnt like that, but i really think the sims on gameboy is better than the computer version. I think the jobs are really fun, and my favorite part of the game is the characters.Once i got this game it was very difficult to put down(kind of like a good book). Once you get new goals its hard to put the game away until you reach them.
Another good thing about the sims on gameboy is that it doesnt take forever to load like it does on the computer. This is one of the best games i have ever played.
