This game is a great sequel. It's really fun to become famous and have people adore you. Especially if in life you aren't famous. I also have a good time making my own actresses and actors and making them fanous. It's really fun. i made Alexis Bledel. But I called her Kimberly Alexis and last name as Bledel. Kimberly Alexis sounds really pretty to me. Anyway I reccomend this game. It's a great sequel and the hair choices are much better.

Recently I purchased the Sims Superstar edition and can't let go of it. Another great thing is you can take your sims to work if they chose the fame career. Here is how i would letter grade the game-

Grahics-B
Gameplay-A
Fun-B+
Music-C+
No replay value because you never win nor lose.

How to chose the fame career you might ask. Well, in the morning a paper and a tabloid will appear on your front lawn. When you go to the tabloid select hire an agent. This will let you visit studio town free and you are now in the fame career. To become famous you must work your way up the star chart. To do this you mut impress audiances, directors, or photographers ect. Another new thing in this game is you can meet actual Superstars like Averill Lavine, Marilyn Munroe?[that's my question too], Cristina Agulara and much more. Three things you can do in studio town are sing, model, of act. The game also adds over 150 items. But some items you will have to gain stars in order to buy. You can also win awards. For example, the Sims Choice Award. The music is still classic music. ALSO. bUY THE SIMS OR SIMS DELUXE OR YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PLAY. AND I would recommend that you buy The Sims unleashed next, then any additionel expancion packs. Then By the Sims Superstar edition.

Overall a outstanding game and a must buy. Remember, most popular series of computer games EVER.

Challenging

This is one of the best expansion packs if you are up for a challenge. Even if you are using cheats such as "rosebud" for more money or a rejuvenating chamber it is still a challenge to master the fame objects, build your career, and maintain the friendships necessary to climb the ladder.

The BEST Sims EP Ever!

Sim-ply put, this is the best expansion pack for The Sims! Since the very beginning I have always wondered what it would be like to go to work with my Sim, and now I know! There is not a thing I'd change about Superstar, and in my honest opinion, this runs circles around Makin' Magic. If you have to buy one EP, make it Superstar!

Yes! This is a way better expansion pack than Sims Vaca. It has new clothes (awesome), new faces, new things to do. I love the Sims and always will. I reccomend This expansion pack, maybe Sims Vaca if u like to have fun, and Sims Hot date. My friend has hot date and I want it now. I also want House Party! You will love this expansion pack if u plan on being a star someday. I do.

Who Can't Love the Sims?

Another great sims expansion pack.

There are new objects and people. Go to Studio Town to earn your fame and a spot in the top. Build a recording studio or a outdoor concert. You start of doing boring karaoke, but then progress to do recordings and music videos. Become a superstar. You can go to spas and have an obsessed fan (which get's annoying). Another great job my Maxis.

Check out these games:

"The Sims" or "The Sims Deluxe"
"Living Large"
"House Party"
"Hot Date"
"Vacation"
"Unleashed"
"Makin Magic"

AND slated to release in September 2004, The Sims 2.

If you buy "Makin Magic", you will get a sneak preview to The Sims 2. It's awesome.... check it out. BUY THIS GAME!

i really hope this expansion pack is gonna be good. from my understanding it will be released may 19th. a cool thing about this is in unleashed you already got career tracks to make you famous but not from a world prospective. this new expansion pack gives you the chance to be a hit record producer, a television acotr, a movie actor, or even a model i think. ...also there is going to be a fully costumizable world for your sims in the sims superstar like hot date and vacation, superstar allows you to take your sims to another land where there are lots for movie houses, sets, television screening(something like that) and spas cool styff like that. also you can finally have a heat sweater machine! should be very cool. you can have a mud bath and from the screenshot it looks like they even put pickles on thier eyes! lol i really hope this helps anyone who is just learning about this new upcomming expansion pack. i knew unleashed wouldn't be the last one as people really thought!

Again with the bugs!

Sims Superstar Expansion pack has some amazing new tweaks, and the added challenge of making your sim a superstar really adds an interesting dimension to the level of gameplay. I will credit maxis with coming up with some of the most interesting add-ons you could ever dream of.

However, as has become a typical hallmark of a Sim expansion pack release...this one has some annoying bugs, and EA should be coming out with a patch to fix it. But it would be nice for one EA release to be put to the public without the typical litany of small problems that hinder the enjoyment of an otherwise great game.

I love playing with the Sims Superstar at first, but then it was giving problems. The Sims would get stuck. It took forever for the Sims to get to Studio Town and when they got there they were tired! It's hard to make my Sims to become Superstars. Now I only use the Sims Superstar for the fabulous objects. I can't wait to get Sims Making Magic! But overall it is a good game but it needs improvements.

A good expansion, but a bit difficult

The Sims Superstar allows you to help your Sims become superstars. It's a nice expansion, but it does have some shortcomings. Getting and keeping famous friends isn't easy, and some of the mini-games you play are difficult.

To become a true Superstar, you must earn a certain number of "famous friends." Studio Town, where your Sim works, is populated with game-created "Somebodies" and "Anybodies." Each Somebody is worth a certain number of famous friend points, depending on their ranking. You can find out which Somebody is at the top of the pile by looking in the new tabloid, which is delivered daily with the newspaper. Unfortunately, the ranking changes every 3 days, so you might have a friend worth 5 friend points slip to 2 points.

Interactions with famous Sims aren't easy, either. Until you accumulate a certain number of relationship points, you have a limited number of interactions that you can use. Many of them run along the lines of, "Ask for hug," "Ask for Autograph," "I'm your biggest fan!" Because of the limited interactions, it is difficult to make friends.

You actually earn fame points by using objects that include mini games. The mini games are small puzzles where you try to figure out the correct pattern. You are given 3 choises, and you have to choose the correct one. At first, you are given enough chances to figure the game out, but as you rise through the ranks, the games become more luck than skill.

There are a few other problems about the expansion. If your Sim does not make enough "Anybody" friends, an obsessed fan will visit their house and steal their awards. They follow them around everywhere, and while it might be flattering for awhile, you soon find yourself being very frustrated. Even once your Sim becomes a Superstar, you will never hold the top place on the tabloids; the Somebodies that come with the game will have the top spots. Another issue that annoys me is the appearence of some "real life" celebrities. Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol are okay, but I get tired of seeing Avril L..... and Christina Ag..... in my game.

In general, the game is very fun. It does take some patience to make your Sims become Superstars, however. I would reccommend this game to any fan of The Sims.
