Don't buy it if you are also buying 'The Sims Online'!

I purchased 'Unleashed' a couple weeks before I got the beta test version of TSO. A mistake. I played 'Unleashed' for a few days and haven't touched it since. If you prefer the offline Sim games, by all means, go for this one. Other reviews will tell you all about the features of this offline Sim expansion. BUT, if you are going to be playing TSO, you will probably not have time to think twice about firing up your old Sim games. Buy TSO first and then decide if you have time to fit in the offline Sim games. And if you do, tell me where you find this time! :)

This game has caused me nothing but frustration!

Make sure your computer has plenty of memory before you buy this. My computer did not, and I had to spend a couple of hours clearing up space for the game. Even after I had cleared up room for this game, it ran slowly and did not follow all the commands I asked of it. What made it even more frustrating was that I had to reinstall the original Sims onto my computer in order to install Unleashed. I'd been playing the Sims (with Livin' Large expansion pack) regularly without any problems, so I have no idea why the game couldn't locate the Sims on my computer when I tried to install "Unleashed". But reinstalling the original Sims caused all of my original game to be over-written so I had to start from scratch with no money and no career. I used to enjoy playing the Sims but now that it runs so slow with the expansion, and that I have to re-start from the beginning after a year of advancing in my money and my career, I can't even play the game the way I used to. :(

i am a sims addict - i did not like vacation, but the idea of unleashed sounded so great. pets, an old town shopping area.. but when i got the game home and installed it.... i got so annoyed with it, i boxed it back up and returned it.

let me first start off by saying that i have a brand new alienware system, probably the best gaming system on the market right now (it cost an arm and a leg but is totally worth it) anyways, i installed unleashed and the first thing i noticed was a flickering. at first it didn't bother me, but then my system started to chunk up a little bit. i ignored it and played the game.

i found it very annoying that dogs would randomly come into your house (dogs can open doors???) all the time. i also did not like how there was only one neighborhood instead of 5 on all the other expansion packs!

some of the new objects were cool... but the flickering really bugged me. i was told in a sims forum that most peope have the flickering problem, but they just ignore it...

i took it back and got no one lives forever 2 instead which is AMAZING!

sorry sims....... unleashed and vacation were such a letdown :(

okay I guess

It's pretty good as far as adding to the game experience -- but be sure you've got lots of memory and hard drive space! I don't, and can't stay in any of the Old Town areas for very long without my computer getting drastically slowed down; I imagine this is a result of my poor memory trying to process the movements and interactions of all the Sims located there, but there's the warning. And the veggie garden isn't intuitive at all -- I've planted one and hired a gardener, but nothing grows, and there aren't any options for actions when I click on it. Must've missed something, but I'm no novice Sims player, so, be warned again.
In short, the pets themselves are fun to play with, but the expansion pack has added a lot of frustration for this antique-computer user.

Tjis is the cooliest game ever! It is much better than all the others. I bet you can't wait to get your hands on this. I always dreamed about pets in the sim's and now it is here. There are 125+ new items than before. Like new chairs, Tables, jobs, and staircases. This is so cool!

In my opinion, The Sims Unleased sounds like it is going to be a blast. I've read a couple of the reviews and it sounds as if about a fourth of the gamers aren't that impressed with the new expansion pack because of the last expansion pack or because they think that having so many expansion packs is too much and too costly. There is one thing that I do agree with. The Sims Vacation expansion wasn't very impressive. Hot Date, Livin' Large, and House Party were though. I also like having new expansions come out every six months or so, that way you don't get bored with the game. Another thing that I observed when Hot Date and Vacation came out was that it looked like EA had two themes for four expansions that were somewhat similar. For example: Livin' Large and House Party all had new iteams and nothing really exotic. Hot Date and Vacation both had the theme of leaving your house and going out and away for a while. Almost as if one expansion creates the theme and the other is a fallow-up on the theme. That would mean that the first this expansion would have something and much more exciting than Vacation. Plus, there is a ton more that you can do in Unleashed than in Hot Date and Vacation put together. My advice may not be what you were looking for but it was just something that crossed my mind. I still think that they should still keep on creating expansions and get more and more advanced as time goes on.

This game is SO much fun! I bought it and I was totally amazed! The neighborhood is SO much bigger than the original, and you can have community lots (public places) in your neighborhood without going to Old Town.

Tip : If you don't want to train your pet yourself you can go to a pet store, and there will be a guy called The Trainer. If you click on him, he will be able to train your pet!

I LOVE THIS GAME!!! BUY IT NOW! IT'S DEFINATLY WORTH THE $20 I SPENT!!!
