I loved this game, but I had to install superstar, because the disc one was copy written. Illegal!

Really great.

My brother used to have this game, so I got to play it- and let me tell ya, it's amazing.

A lot of people complain that The Sims did not have enough things to do, furniture, ect. Well this will fix that. There are new skins, furniture, wallpapers, floor tiles, and of course, pets.

You can train your dogs or cats to win shows or just entertain you. Dogs will water the garden, scare off raccons and fetch the paper while cats hunt mice, cockroaches, gophers and rabbits- and they look darn cute doing it! Or maybe you'd prefer an easier pet to take care of, such as birds, a turtle, a hamster or an iguana.

Dogs and cats can also have babies. When it grows up, you can either keep it as a new pet or sell it for a reasonable profit. Because of this it is even possible to breed cats and dogs to sell their babies for easy money.

If pets are not enough for you, this expansion lets your sims take up gardening. They care for a garden and when their crops are harvested you can either store it in a pantry for your sims to eat or go to Old Town and sell it.

that's another thing, Old Town.

In Old Town you can buy your pets. You can also buy pet treats, toys, seeds to plant crops, snacks, and a variety of trinkets for your home. And Old Town is not just for buying things! you can take the whole family out to play in the park or bring a single sim to meet others. And you can build these lots too.

Another neat feature is that you can now build houses without moving into them, just in case you feel like building but not making a whole new family. I love this because it means I can build a house for my sims to live in later.

This is a great game, but be careful not to spend too much time on it. Believe me, times goes fast when you're playing The Sims.

Unleash the SIMS

First this is not - NOT - a full SIM game. It is an expansion pack that adds on to an existent SIM game.

We are very pleased with this expansion pack and the price was very low.

We gave it a 4 because of the lack of walls and furnishings needed to properly house and care for the critters.

This was purchased for my daughter to use with her SIMS - 1st Edition+Making Magic. The install was easy but requires your main SIM discs and the usual disc swapping. We have had no running errors or hangs etc so far.

The animals are well thought out, fun, well stocked with options and great fun. Did I mention they are fun? They are fun! And cute.

The only problems after a month of almost daily use is the lack of build support ie no screen walls or glass walls and indoor trees for aviaries and the like and not enough exotics like Komodo dragons, Tegus, snakes, dwarf ponies, pot belly pigs, frogs etc.

The cats are better behaved than ours and when they do eat the Budgie - and they do! - there is that ever ready SIM pixel blur to cover the gore.

We limit our daughter to no more than 1 hour of game time a day and not every day. So far she has not played any other games since this arrived via S. Clause.

Not fun or realistic

I was so excited to get this game as I love pets in real life...

However, it was totally UNREALISTIC - the pets are BORING PLUS!!!

Firstly, they don't try to sit on your lap or try to sleep on the beds. That would have been so cool because lots of people allow dogs on their beds and at the very least REAL DOGS AND CATS DO TRY TO SLEEP ON BEDS OR IN LAPS...

and
What are the pets doing going to the shops with you?????? They should stay home and wreck the place like real puppies.

Oh and WHY does EVERY member of the family have to go to the shops every time??? In real life that doesn't happen...

And what is the story with the cr*p you can buy at the shops "Mask of Rage" etc Waste your money on cr*p that goes on the grass and cannot be moved after you get home...

If the animals were more jumpy, excitable and real it would have been worth the money I paid for it - that's all I wanted... But didn't get it

>:(

I had heard many good things about this ep, but after I started playing it, it just wasn't as good as I had thought it would have been.

So your sims can get a little bored. A pet is a great way to help them out. Upside... they get social points when interacting with their pet. Downside... unless you have a maid or robot, you clean up a lot of messes, the food can be expecive if on a budget, and you can't pick your pets personality. But, all in all I enjoyed this expansion pack.

So in this game, you have the *Fantastic* option of getting your sim a lil' companion, such as a dog, cat, lizard, turtle, bird, or fish (I think I got that right.) So you can chose from getting several breeds of dog (Such as a rottwieler, a german shepherd, or a dalmation) or several breeds of cat. There are two types of birds, and then there are reptiles and fishies.

Also, for your plant-loving sims, there's gardening. Now, you can plant a variety of new crops in your garden with seeds! What fun!

Then there are new items...such as pet-related stuff. You can get doggie beds/bowls, cat toys, pet bathes...all this fun stuff that you can do endless stuff with! Okay, not endless. But there are other new things, too...like new couches, beds, chairs, tables...isn't that COOL?

So back to your lil' animal friends. They're not going to live on their own. You will need to feed them, play with them, and worst of all...TRAIN THEM. If you have a dog, they will urinate on the carpet, tear up stuff, chase your kitty(s), and be bad. So there is the dog trainer, but still. Work on it. Kitties are nicer, and will chase away those pesky mice that might just end up in your house.

Oh and some other unwelcome visitors might arrive. Like that kitty who stalks around and steals stuff.

Also, a male + female = puppies/kitties, if they get along. Don't be alarmed if it happens.

So beware. If you get this game, buy some doggies and kitties, train them, buy them stuff, and make sure they're satisfied. Happy training!

Yay Pets!

This is a good expansion pack. You get extra space for more houses, more careers, many new items, and, most importantly, pets! A pet is a great friend for a lonely sim, and is also a great idea for other sims as well.

Your sim can choose from a cat, a dog, a turtle, a bird, a lizard, or a fish. There are several different types of cats and dogs and you can also download additional pet skins from the Maxis web site.

You can also customize the community lots (parks and stores) in this game, which is a nice feature.

I just wish you could get the tall fish tanks and the pet gym for your own home (they are only available for community lots).

Oh and it would have been really cool if you could get a horse. This is mostly because I love horses in real life and it would be neat of my sims could have one too.
