Absolutely Perfect

Okay, I loved Goldeneye when it came out. The new twist on the first-person shooter, multi-player deathmatches, and the incredible graphics and gameplay made it an excellent game. However, with the creation of Perfect Dark, Goldeneye has been surpassed. Containing all of the old features of Goldeneye, such as the deathmatches that are everyones' favorite, Perfect Dark adds much more. New features make this game that much better to play. Ever wanted to play a multi-player game, but there was no one around? Now you can fight up to eight enemy bots, or make friendly bots for entire team matches. You can also perform the challenges, giving you more experience with the game and allowing you to unlock new weapons for multi-player. The Carrington institute gives you a training ground, from simple tasks such as observation to live-fire combat. And the secondary feature of each gun is an excellent addition, providing more variety for single and multi-player missions. New gameplay features are also a welcome addition. Now you can team up with a buddy to perform missions, or you can take control of the enemy and stop your friend from completing their objectives. Lastly, the graphics are even better than those in Goldeneye, with depth and lighting effects making the settings that much more realistic. The only problem is having to pay extra for the expansion pack, but most future games will most likely use it as well, so you'll pretty much have to buy it at some point.

The Perfect Game

When this game first came out,I had many doubts about it. I believed Goldeneye was the best game of all time. Perfect Dark proved me wrong. The 17 solo missions are very well created. My favorite level is the crash site, where you speed across the arctic tundra, fighting snipers, drone guns, and assault rifle toting troops. The multiplayer mode has many great options, including King of the Hill, where you take control of a certain area for 30 seconds. I also like the 44 weapons in the game, that you use to fight against troops. Altogether, it is a great game, and I'm starting to think it is even better than Goldeneye!

One of the top N64 games and THE best multiplayer

Like so many people, I looked forward to Perfect Dark because I loved Goldeneye so much -- in fact, until I got Perfect Dark, I was still playing Goldeneye with friends (multiplayer mode) and occasionally, still the one-player mode.

I got the game the day it came out and although I don't have the time to play 10-hour sessions like I used to, I still play fairly often and months later, I still haven't beaten everything. The challenge of the perfect agent difficulty setting is high, but it's the kind of challenge where you really want to win, not the kind that makes you want to throw the game out the window. The enemies are smart, work together and don't just blindly run in to kill you.

I can't imagine a better mutliplayer mode. First you can customize the levels, game type, weapons (you can tailor the game to have any six weapons/gadgets/armour/etc. you like in the level you choose), player handicaps, time/kill limits, skins (head and body can be different), etc. Then there's the simulants (aka bots): in addition to up to 4 people, you can play with up to EIGHT simulants -- each one can be one of 10 or so types plus one of six skill levels (ranging from the easily-killed MeatSim to the virtually impossible DarkSim). Even alone, I could play the multiplayer mode for hours. Replay value is virtually unlimited.

This is definitely a better game than Goldeneye though Goldeneye was pretty great also. The new The World Is Not Enough just doesn't compare to Perfect Dark in terms of its multiplayer options and the overall fun factor (though TWINE's focus on stealth elements is good). As far as first-person shooters go, I'd say this ties Half-Life for my favourite overall, period.

BEST GAME EVER MADE

This is THE BEST game ever made for any system. IT surpasses Goldeneye and the World is Not Enough without question. BUT it is very gory. The blood can be turned off and turned into paintballs, and the swearing may also be turned off, but this is still a intense game for younger kids.

AWESOME GAME!!!

Perfect Game

Perfect Dark is undoubtedly the best shooter ever developed for the N64, it just screams out technical perfection and good wholesome shooting fun. The gaming engine was carried over from the amazingly successful Goldeneye, and even improved upon. The game has even been delayed many times, so the developer can bring an absolutely "perfect" product that you will still be playing years from now.

Best game ever!

This is sure to be the best game of the year. It is the sequel to Goldeneye, winner of the "Game of the Year Award 1997", and it features the best graphics i've ever seen! It has a wide variety of weapons, several modes of play, and the best multiplayer mode ever. If you buy one game this year, make it Perfect Dark!

This game kicks butt. It is going to be up there in game history. Along with Goldeneye, Metal Gear Solid, the list goes on. If you've got the cash, go for it.

Perfect Dark...the name speaks for itself

I cannot say how much fun I have had with this game. I have only got to renting it, but I've had it for a good 2 weeks, and that is enough to say how cool this game is.

Yes, there is bad language (and a few gruesome noises people make when they die). Yes there is blood. But who cares, if it's a good game it shouldn't matter. If you are really worried about it, you can turn that stuff off anyway. But on to the review:

The single player missions start pretty easy, and get a little more complicated as you go along (with an easy mission here or there). For all you fellow not-so-good gamers, the Agent level is perfect. It's not like Turok 2 where it takes hours to beat levels and then days to beat the final boss. It'll make everyone feel comfortable. Oh yeah, and for you expert gamers, the Special Agent setting is good. You see? This game is perfect for everyone!

That is, except for a few things. Co-operative mode moves kind of choppy, I found this very annoying, as you could probably understand. Also, the mouths don't move. I don't know what's so bad about that, but if they've been working on this for so long and put so much time in to the little details of buildings, you'd think they'd have the power to have the characters' mouths move. Oh well, the game still kicks, which is why it has been given 5 stars.

Well, there you have it, my review. I hope it was helpful, and if it wasn't? Oh well. I just hope that you will understand that any flaws you may have heard about in this game is made up by the graphics and user-friendliness. Have fun.

From what I can see this game is the best n64 game ever. But I do not know for sure because I have not played the game like all the people below me as the game is not released until may 25. So please do not review it, as if you have it. Details are everything. You can not know the details if you do not have it.
