Lara has jumped to the next generation, and what a jump!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 53 / 97

Framed for a crime she didn't commit, Lara is on the run from the police and people who framed her. And her enemies will never let up. She'll truly have to watch her back if she hopes to make it out of Paris alive.

1. While the PSone sequels introduced little in innovation or originality, this PS2 version looks to revive the series.

2. The graphics have definitely made the jump to next-generation...for the screenshots.

3. Lara uses moves taken almost directly from Metal Gear Solid 2 to stealthily approach and take out the unsuspecting guards.

4. This game will be a lot darker than the past games and its storyline will be far more complex.

5. Unlike past games, a majority of this sequel isn't spend down in dimly-lit tombs. Lara will actually get to explore Paris from the surface.

6. See Lara adapt to how you play the game.

7. Get rewards for puzzle solving and exploration (including physical rewards like strenght)

8. Talk to other characters, but be careful, because how you talk to people and what you say to them will affect you till the end of the game.

9. Brand new game engine, bigger areas, very smart AI.

10. New levels of gameplay with hand-to-hand combat, stealth attacks, and more, much more.

11. Exclusive for the PS2 and PC.

12. Release date: November (11th - 15th)

What do you get when you add Lara Croft + Metal Gear Solid 2?

ANSWER: "TOMB RAIDER: THE ANGEL OF DARKNESS"

Not the same Lara, but I'll take what ever Lara I can get!

Is Lara Croft the Angle of Darkness in this new action game? We won't know untill it comes out. All I know is they got some sick ... graphics. I also know that this game will be a lot more like MGS,(Metal Gear Solid). Not that MGS is a bad game, but it won't be the same Lara. In this game, there will be sneaking around, breaking guard's necks, and endless danger with so many traps, and malicious pursuers that you'll be afraid to take your next step! After you play this game, you will be dreaming of Lara Croft all night long, if you know what I mean! This Tomb Raider is going to be a lot darker than the past games, and its storyline will definitly be far more complex!

Sorry to say, Tomb Raider is one of the worst games i've ever played on any system. I bought the original after hearing it was "da bomb," and was severly disappointed. Played the others incarnations, and they [stunk] as well, so my hopes aren't high for TR:AOD.

the facts about the game,u judge it yourself*

ok,after lara was supposedly presumed dead we find out that she has been hiding from the rest of the world and became darker and more mysterious, this game is more life-like ,with murder and betrayal in it,where we get to find out what hapened to her and go on in the adventure at the same time.she doesnt only have mew moves, but the whole control sysem was changed!it isnt just shooting at anything anymore, there is times where you have to sneek and you get a complex hand-to-hand fighting system.this game has been compared to metal gear sold series games, and is more complex and you get to talk to people and change the flow of the story so it depends on what you do.and her skills improve the more you use them, she develops depending on how you use her,so your lara might be better than your friends, interesting, huh?!oh yeah,by the way, there are 2 characters in the game, her and a guy.it depends on the part of the story your in,and each one of them has his own techniques...

I dont know...

i recently rented one of the PS1 versions of tomb raider and the controls were very hard to get used to and jumping was horrible. I just couldnt stand it. But this game will have a new control scheme, new moves, and it should be ten times better in everything that the PS1 had to offer since its a PS2 game, which still gives me hope for this overrated series of games.

Even in the dark, Tomb Raider shines bright

The next installment of the Tomb Raider series has the whole game being revamped from it's original 1996 appearance to even the 2000 release, Tomb Raider: Chronicles, which seemed to be the worst of all Tomb Raider games, but by no means horrible.

This game is introducing a darker side of Lara, one which is different form the past games, but helps expand and extend Lara's reign as "Video Game Queen" Older players will be brought into a different situation then what they had dealt with in the past five Tomb Raider games.(along with the expansions: TR 1 Gold, TR 2 Gold, and Lost Artifact)

The style of playing has changed from it's old and slightly childish "kill anything that runs in your path and make your way to the end in the only way possible" to a more updated a adult style of playing with many different ways to go, people to talk to, and skill building, to make your character run fast, jump higher, etc.

This game is going to start the path for the next Tomb Raider's to come, and it certainly going to be a blast!

I loved the Origanal Tomb Raider!!!

I Loved the original Tomb Raider but the other four I'm thinking about. I hope that Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness is not a Disappointment.

Will Lara ever be the same?

Now I love a good video game as much as the next person, and I love Tomb Raider, and I'm open to new ideas. But does this game deserve the title of "Tomb Raider", when no tombs are actually being raided? This sounds more like one of those crime-and-punishment bits where people run around with high-tech weapons killing the enemy in fatigues (complete with gory blood splatter), where there's a better chance of dying than of actually winning the game. Yes, it's like Metal Gear, but in my opinion it SHOULDN'T be like Metal Gear; it should be like Tomb Raider. What about archaeology and the Indiana-Jones thrill of getting out past the mummies and gods and ghosts to finish with a great prize - some secret magical artifact? Has all that been killed for the cheap trick of killing the police and getting back at the big guy at the top? Lara isn't the member of a police force fighting crime or a fugitive like the Harrison Ford flick or a netherworld blood goddess in an Alice-like Gothic fantasy world. She's a Tomb Raider. And in this Tomb Raider's opinion, she should stay a Tomb Raider and spend time actually raiding tombs instead of playing dark she-devil. Although most people haven't played the game yet I've toyed around with it and all I can say is that I hope Tomb Raiderdom isn't disappointed by the fact that our old Lara has been sacrificed for a gory crime drama.
