good, but wheres inovation?

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 1 / 35

i normally would give this more then one star, but this game has no innovation. That is what destroyed the video game industry in the early 80's, and i don't want that to happen again. Hopefully a bad response to an unoriginal game will influence sony to innovate more. The game itself is ok, but i'm not sure if it's worth buying. If you don't have the earlier games, you might want to buy/rent it

Oh dang :p

This game is gonna rule, but no point to adding another 5 star review filled with comments when there is already 20+ :P. However, to add a point to Mr. Rose's comment, the TMO disc will be a add on, which will cost more cash, not to mention the extream possibilty that Sony will charge for playing on their network. Being a person who just sugercially seperated myself from an Online game(Everquest), online fees, while seem small at first, are very annoying, especially if school or work swamps you that month, and you toss 10 bucks down the drain. Not to mention the fact that TMB is a very high end game, and DSL, or cable, is not in my area, and on 56k, we are talking Lag City here. :0 So, to "A Gamer", i dont really care about online play, i want 2 player Co-op and 4 player deathmatch :p So, in conclusion, All Hail Twisted Metal Black, and long live Incognito! And another thing, Be a Man "A Gamer", post your E-mail! :0

I do not have a PS2 yet, but i am going to buy one for this game. this is going to be the most exciting TM game yet! This game, An action genre, not car combat, will actually have a storyline. This will be an exellent game, you can also destroy everything in the levels! plus, mr grimm is back! how good does it get!?

How could you possibly give this game one star? you haven't even played it! TMB will rock, because it's being made by the same people that made 1 and 2. 3 and 4 were made by an interly different crew! besides, three words, fully destructable terrain

I read on a credible website that there is supposed to be an add on disk out in November 2001 that allows owners of Twisted Metal Black to be able to play online. Just a rumor, for whatever that's worth.

Twisted Metal will be revitalized!

When Twisted Metal 1 and 2 came out, they were amazing games. I bought them both and was addicted. My friends were also couldn't stop playing this game. We couldn't wait for a Twisted Metal 3, but when I rented it, it was horrible. This is when 989 Studios established itself as a Developer that makes crappy games and tries to sell as many as possible. Twisted Metal 4 was also a pain-inducing experience. Now, since Incognito (Formerly Singletrac, makers of TM1 and TM2) is making TM:Black, I'm so excited. This is turning the Twisted Around in the right direction for the future. This uses awesome detail on the cars. Rain and other weather effects to disrupt your visibility. However, the plot will very graphic with killer and murderers, so small children shouldn't play this game. This game has sweet multiplayer with up to 4 players and computer Bot playes as well. Even with 4 players, the game runs at a blistering 60 frames-per-second. If you have a PS2, this is the game to get this summer

I am 16 years old and I have been playing video games since I was 6 and this has to be the most disturbing game I have ever played other than doom. The characters are well devlope and creepy. The controls in my point of view are easy to use after you have played a few levels. There are five hidden characters that are hard to find unless you have a guide handy, but are very cool. There are plenty CG movies that progress the story and scary the hell out of you. There are even great mult. player games other than story mode like four-way death macth and 2 player story to name a few. The makers of the game have put together a very help "Journal" to go with the game it is easy to use, it has discriptive information about each character, very disturbing newpaper articals about a Serial Killers and such to set a mood, and journal entrys from a psyco-ward patient named "No Face". In the game you can pick from any of 10 (and 5 secert) vehicles and their drivers. The levels are chilling and are all very different and very very detailed. And there is even a huge rooftop area like in ones before it. Each level also has it's own enviormental weapon aswell. This games is also very challenging too. The other drivers are not dumb at all and the bosses are very hard to defeat which will take some time and lives. The sound is gothic and at its best. The even have the song "Paint It Black" by The Rolling Stones. I even roll the cerdits so I can listen to the song and wacth the CGs. All and all this you should buy this game if you liked any of the PSone Twisted Metals or think this game sounds good. BUT WAIT, this winter Twisted Metal: Black Online is coming so you can destroy others around the wrold! If you can wait for winter, you should.

Don't disappoint me baby!

The only reason I wanted a PS2 to begin with was of two games... Twisted Metal Black and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty I've seen the video quality of this game and obviously they put some GREAT effort into it... I am betting on this game being a great success... The rest of the PS2 games so far have just been slapped together and don't harness any of the PS2's Graphic Capibility.

A must buy for ant PS2 owner!

I have seen many still shots for this game and they are unbelievable. This is one of the few PS2 games that uses the full power of PlayStation 2. Levels and storylines unfold beautifully as you play through the game.

This game covers all aspects of a great game, graphics, story, etc. I give it a 5 because of how great of a job they did coming back to making a game that they didn't even make the 2 sequals to. And they even were succesfull on the playstation 2. It was a challenge to make it succesfull on the PS2 with all the space to make it better. Thats why I give it a 5.
