The hit series is back and it couldn't have been better. Twisted Metal Black is the savior of the Twisted Metal series. With awesome new weapons, cool graphics, awesome new characters, and a soundtrack you could die for (literally), what more could we ask for. The levels are extremly interactive (and they're huge too!!) Unlock secret characters from the previous Twisted Metal games and multiplayer levels. Challenge yourself in story mode, challnege mode, or endurance mode, or challenge your friends in death-match mode, player co-op mode, or last man standing mode. Buy this game, you will not be disappointed, I garuntee it.
Bottom Line: Twisted Metal Black twists back in the right direction.

This Game Rocks!!!

This is the best car shooter game ever, with familiar characters like Sweettooth, and a great story line. This is a game worth playing!!

Twisted Metal Black is far beyond my wildest dreams, destroying the horrific reputation set by 989 studios and putting the Twisted Metal series and Ps2 back on track.

....

The graphics for this game are draw dropping and it has a frame rate to match, the game engine is simple and indeed it is it's very simplicity that allows it to be far more enjoyable than any game in the last 8 months.

I'd love to write more but I have to get back to play the game. Sorry

The first time I played this game I was a bit disappointed. The game physics were kind of weird. The game play is very fast, something I am not accustom to. Once I got over the initial button confusion my outlook on the game changed. After setting the difficulty level to easy and began using the analog stick for both steering and throttle the game became amazing. I am so hooked. The carnage and destruction is unbelievable! This game simply rocks!

If you are a fan of Twisted Metal 1-4, then this is a must have. By far, this is the best and hardest version of them all. Strategy is a must to make it through the levels.

Whoo Hooo finally they are back. 3 and 4 were not good enough for the name Twisted Metal but finally the are Black I mean Back. Twisted Metal 1 and 2 were fabulous and so is this one. Not for the weak stomached though as some of the movies are a little raw but I loved them. I did send my children (all younger than 7 out of the room) when viewing them though. Controls are the same and action is abundant. There are secret passages, locked characters, and power ups aplenty. Some of the old codes even work. Bosses are somewhat difficult but overall if you are good enough you can make it to the end. Have fun there as a somewhat familiar foe is at the end from a different title you may have played. Music is good and I knew I would love it even from the opening music gotta love the Stones. Calypsos new look it a little disturbing but that won't be the only thing. It also has a multi-player mode that is pretty cool but I really like the co-op mode with a competent partner anyway. This game is wonderful and I look forward to more carnage of this caliber from the TM family.

The best Twisted Metal ever!

This is the best twisted metal game ever. The graphics are wonderful and the weapons are extreme. In the story mode go through 8 levels of pure war! Then in multiplayer mode you have the coop where you and another person play against the game in 8 levels. You can also play against each other in this game. The game can have up to 4 players! Great game, still worth $ to me.

one wicked wicked game

Maybe this game isn't for everyone. If you don't like vehicle combat games look elsewhere. However, every single video game ever made should be made with this much attention to quality. There is no popup. There is little to no distance fog. The menus are tight and intuitive. The music is first class, including a licensed song from The Rolling Stones. The story isn't paper thin. It includes beautifully rendered scenes showing each character's story. The manual is complete and gives a thorough background of each character, vehicle and available weapons. The game isn't easy. Even at the easiest level be prepared to die often. The difference is that you usually know exactly why you died and how you could have done better the next time. The levels are massive. They are interactive. Your enemies are other vehicles, but if you see a plane or a helicopter (and there are plenty of helicopters carrying supplies) you can shoot it down. This is certainly the best action game available and easily the best Playstation2 game available. It's not for everyone. The game is violent, but it's the best of its kind. wow!

All I have to say is if you own a PS2 and you don't buy this game, you need to have your head examined. This game is mindblowing in the details of the game, storyline, characters, etc. If Twisted Metal 3 and 4 made you upset, don't worry, this makes up for those pieces of crap in gold. Incoginc is composed of half the staff that made TM 1 and 2. If you loved the 1st two games get this one. You sure won't regret it!
