Fox is back! Let's go to the Lylat system!

Da da da da-di-dadaaa, Fox McCloud, everyone's favorite fox (although Krystal might take his place in some's hearts) is back, in this amazing game.
The general feeling of this game is a Zelda-like gameplay, and FOx, please, take that as a copliment. The graphics are better than anyhting else I have ever seen. c'mon, you can count every single hair on fox's head during close up's and the grass is moved by the wind! That's something even Halo or Mario didn't do!
Although i have seen amazing graphics in final Fantasy X, during the cutscenes, Starfox is a good match. The expressions of his face are really well represented, like the amazement when he is told he has to fight that one huge dude to access the secret chamber, and looks around him smiling, thinking they are talking to someoneelse, and then frowining when he realizes it's all about him. The audio is amazing, and the voice casting is excellent unlike the previously mentioned *cough* Final fantasy X *cough*. (although FFX was a wonderful game, the hero sounded like a five year old). The controls, in honor of Zelda 64, are amazingly simple to master, although it does get anoying to have to press the L button to center the camera. Other than that te camera is good. The game has a slight feeling of been-there-done-that at times, but a great story, splendid grpahics, great audio, and loooong life time (even if you know it by heart you need at LEAST 20 hours to finish it.) well make up for it, and i give this game 11/10. It's hours of fun. If you love everything related to Star Fox, buy it, if you don't know what the heck im talking about, buy it. If you hate Starfox, and everything about Zelda-like games, buy it. Recommended by american cheese for ages 7-77. (I know it's rated Teen, but i never actually understood why. the violence is minimal, even during fights.)

I had really high hopes for this game. However, after getting about 50% of the way through Starfox Adventures, I simply had to admit to myself that the game was boring. I've been entranced by Zelda, and I couldn't put my controller down when playing Eternal Darkness, but Starfox just doesn't do it. As has been said by many, the graphics are spectacular (though the use of character voices gets absolutely nauseating very quickly). Unfortunately this game proves the old adage that gameplay trumps graphical might every time.

Younger children might enjoy this, but I honestly see no reason for an adult to pick it up. Try Eternal Darkness instead.

Fantastic game, if for nothing else then the graphics. The gameplay is tight, graphics are stunning, puzzles are hard but not too hard, and the voice acting is.....well, British. I've never seen Fox look this good. I am pretty fond of the close fighting as well, never knew Fox could pull off moves like that. Well worth buying. If you have this game-hooray for you, if not-buy it, and if you don't have a Gamecube....well, shame on you and may you be spanked with a thousand tiny thorns. Buy it, buy it now, come on you know you want to ;p

Awsome!

It's simple-this game is awesome. Unbelieveable graphics-some of the best yet for the G-Cube-, addictive gameplay(Yes, I know, it's like Zelda, but is that really a bad thing?), good storyline, and though it's quite easy (Not as many challenging puzzles as most Zelda games, repetitive and easy-but fun-fighting, etc.), it's one of the best titles out for the Gamecube yet. BUY IT!

ULTIMATE FIGHTING MACHINE RETURNS

This game is filled with suspense and action just waiting to be revealed. Sure Fox McCloud was great to conrtoll but you need to have freedom to do what you want with different players.

The first time I saw that this game was coming out, I nearly fainted. I own Star Fox on Nintendo 64 and it is great. This Gamecube version is undescribable compared to the first. You will instantly fall in love with this game. It's a must have must play game that will hopefully make the fur and hair fly.

Not a bad Starfox game.

Starfox Adventures is more or less a sequel to "Starfox 64" on the N64. As far as games go Starfox Adventures good qualities really stand out. But the bad also stands out in this too.

The graphics are awesome! Quite possibly some of the best the Gamecube has. The fur on Fox looks real and the environments are really decorated. Best of all, there is nothing that slows the action and gameplay down.

The music in this game is a nice treat, though not as good as the N64 version. The music definitely gives you the feel of exploration but the truth is, it just isn't pleasing to the ear. The voice acting is outstanding! The voice acting and the dino language are great! You'll be impressed at the different moods and tones the voice actors can give off. Sound effects are also some of the best I've ever heard.

The gameplay has a very different sort of feel. Starfox is usually a sort of "Space-shooter" game. Adventures is just that, an adventure. So you'll be on foot. That's not to say you won't fly. You'll still fly, but there isn't that much of it. Before each Arwing mission you'll need a certain amount of Fuel Cells which are scattered throughout the overworld.

Battling in the game is quite fun. Fox can pick up a staff and excecute several combos, and he can use elements such as fire and ice with the staff. The controls take a moment to get used to at first but there's a control pad in the upper right hand corner of the screen to help you out.

You also have a pet dinosaur named Tricky who is going to help you save Dinosaur Planet from the trecherous General Scales. You actually do have to be a parent to your pet. For example, in order for him to perform some of the task that he does you'll have to make sure you feed him.

What brings the gameplay down is the replay value. Some mini-games and puzzles are real mindbenders. It's fun to play through the first time but some of the frustration in other mini-games and puzzles isn't worth it. The puzzle don't present THAT big of a challenge. They're usually pretty easy to figure out, but there are too many puzzles. Nearly every room you step in has a puzzle and it takes away from the whole fun of the game and while you'll enjoy some puzzles you'll abhor others.

So while you don't fly around much, the game isn't really bad. It deserves a four for it's effort. The game is fun but somewhere along the line it losses it's replay.

Great, but doesn't last long

Star Fox Adventures is, a great game. It has many mechanics used in the Zelda games and follows basically the same format as those games. However the game just doesn't have that natural sparkle found in a Nintendo game, that youd come to expect.

Star Fox adventures takes place 8 years after Andross has been destroyed. Wondering around in the Lylat System is something that the Star Fox team is just not into anymore, with Peppy have retired, and Falco to do his personal things, Fox and Slippy haven't been able to keep up with there old ship. So when General Peppers comes in with a job for the old crew, Fox and CO. come into the rescue. They soon learn that they will need to help out a place called Dinosaur Planet, a planet that has been semi taken over by a lizard named General Scales. He has made the planet break up into a few diffrent regions, and your job (as Fox McCloud) is to find Spellstones and Krazoa Spirits to make the Planet return to normal.

In my oppinion, it's a pretty good story, and definitly is alot like LOZ:OOT. The Graphics in the game are next to perfect. the fur effects (which was thought to only be able to be on the xbox) are amazing and very realistic. Fox McCloud is very realistic, and the world are very very well done. The music is all new, besides some of the old school Star Fox songs, which appear in the game a few times. The controls are solid as well, but once you play the game (especially if you've played LOZOOT) will all seem like the same, and you'll be thinking hmmm, have I played this before. In fact the game feels just like LOZOOT. I think that's the huge problem with this game, the controls and mechanics, and even the whole purpose of the game is all old, and it's been done before. Not to mention that in my oppinion SFA has maybe the worst ending I've ever seen in my life (when/if you beat the game you'll see what I'm talking about).

So overall SFA is solid if you somehow missed LOZOOT and it's a great game, with some huge flaws that really hold it back. The whole conecept of the game of find this, put this here, collect this stone has all been done before in LOZOOT and it doesn't need to be done here.

AWESOME AND GREAT FOR GAMERS

I HAD BOUGHT THIS GAME AND WHEN I STARTED IT WAS ALREADY EXCITING. WHEN U START U FLY THIS HUGE DRAGON AND SHOOT FIREBALLS AT THIS SHIP. THIS GAME IS GREAT. MOST STAR FOX GAMES ARE USUALLY JUST FLYING SHIPS AND STUFF BUT THIS IS ACTUALLY AN ACTION/ADVENTURE FOR STAR FOX!! U CAN USE UR STAFF FOR ATTACKING, SHOOTING, SPELLS, AND MANY OTHER STUFF. U CAN GET HELP FROM UR TEAMMATES AND MANY OTHER GREAT FEATURES. NOW ITS ALSO IN A GREAT PRICE. FORGET WHAT THE OTHER REVIERS SAY. JUST KNOW THIS IS A GREAT ACTION/ADVENTURE GAME.

Starfox is Here!

This is one of THE MOST AWESOME FIGHTING GAMES EVER. I would sugest immediately buying this game. This has great battles in too. The bosses are really well-designed and creative.
When Star Fox and his gang find a planet in distress and are offered money by who else other the General Pepper himself, Fox McCloud engages himself in the madness of Dinosaur Planet.
Don't let a little kid play this. There is quite a bit of fighting and violince, a small amount of blood, some really gross battles and.. well, Krystal, Fox's crush, could really use a bit more clothing. A relationship seems to be starting between our hero Fox McCloud and Krystal. I wouldn't be surprised if they kissed in one of the sequels. Raregames, where are you? But anyway, romance is a BIG element at some point, so don't give it to kids who aren't that old yet. It's a great game though, and I really hope a sequel comes soon. This deserves a continuation.

25-35 hours of gameplay

I thought this game was gonna be one of Nintendo's overly cute video games for lil kiddies that anyone with two thumbs and a brain could beat in 10-15 hours so i rented the game. With all the overdue fees i just should have bought the game. This game is the kind of game where once you start it you dont want to put the controller down.
The graphics are great. . . maybe the best graphics out for the cube.

The gameplay is also supurb. Its a zelda clone but with a foxy twist. The puzzles are fun and sometimes Frustrating (walking with explosives that detonates in 30 sec in the dark while looking for a crack in the wall) (My favorite was the spirit test of fear.) you also get a sidekick character who is a baby dinosaur. cute at first annoying later on. He helps fox by making the unacessable and the unattainable possible

The plot was also well developed. To make it simple You take an assignment to help put together a world thats fallin apart. the ending of the game however is going to shock some of those old school gamers.

If you liked Zelda titles you will like Starfox adventures because starfox is pretty much a zelda clone. You remember that enemey locking thing that Link had ?Starfox has that. Remeber how Link would roll? Fox does that. How about Links auto jump thing? Starfox has that too.

Overall this is a great game. buy this game.
