Star Fox is back with his 3 pilot pals, Peppy, Slippy and Falco. Falco won't be here though! You may be riding in the Arwing, so more adventure MIGHT await you...Also, people complain about that it is copying off Zelda. If it is, I love it! The Z-Targeting is a MAJOR plus to games, because it locks it on! Z-Targeting is so helpful, that when I played a GCN game I think the Z button is on the back of the controller, so I thought. Anyway, if I had 50 smackeroos, I reserve it, and Super Mario Sunshine(a.k.a. Sunshine). I believe that the graphics are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo goooooooood that your eyes will be sore from it. You can see Fox's fur!!! The thought of it being... never entered my mind, because it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE!!! I'm telliong you, if you had enough to spare for this, BUY IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, and DO NOT ANOTHERN SECOND! Or, if you are like me, who must rent before buying to see if it is one of the following:

Short
Unappropiate Themes

Scary
Hard to control(dosen't really matter to me)
Graphics
Fun!

Look for those things, and also keep an eye out like a hawk for blood, or anything horribly unnessesary for gameplay, so beware!

Addicting, fun, what more could you want?

My friend lent me this game. To be honest, at first I wasn't to keen on it. It sounded like a kid's game. I started playing it and was a bit bored to start off, but once I got playing! I couldn't stop! It really pulls you in and it has an interesting story line to go along with it. I found this game highly addictive and played it every chance I got until I beat it. The difficulty of this game, I would say is fairly easy. But it's a fun ride. I was sad when it ended. The game was a blast and I enjoyed all the little puzzles it had. It really made you think. Can't wait till the next Starfox!

Some games seem to have success written all over them but falter in the end (Yoshi's Story springs to mind). Unfourtunately this game is one of those. Yes the graphics, sound, and control are very good. The gameplay is where the game fails though and that cancels out all the good. It's extremely short considering this game was billed as a huge adventure (you'd be lucky to squeeze 17 hours out of this one). Replay value is nonexistant (Whoo Hoo I can find tokens that let me play through this piece of .... in different stupid ways such as in black and white). I just assumed this one would be good so I rushed out and bought it without having played it beforehand. Lets just say that I was more than a little dissapointed with it.Don't buy this game folks there's better games out there especially on the Gamecube. After delaying this game nearly a year (it was supposed to be a Gamecube launch title!) Rare has the audacity to dump this load on us. I now no longer wonder why Nintendo decided to sell their stake in Rare. Let them bleed some money out of some one else for a change!

good for an hour, two if your patient

Few games can bore me past my patience level. I threw this game in, started playing, and i thought, pretty cool, shooting down flying ships from my flying dinosaur, wierd, but cool! Then i went on and found the gameplay EXTREMELY repetitive. Pick up barrel, throw it at bad guys, repeat until puzzle, then solve puzzle while throwing barrel at bad guys! If you look at my other reviews, im not much of a game cube fan, been sony for years, but i thought i would give this game a chance since all my friends won't stop talking about it. This game is great for about an hour then you get sleepy cuz its boring! The only game worth mentioning on the cube is metroid prime, so pick that up and have a blast!

this game is terrific, i would know im a good gamer and a star fox fan! theres so much to do in the game, just like zelda 64 but better. the power staffs graphics is an awesome sight! plus, you get to fly like the star fox on n64! If I were you i would buy the game!(and i did)

Big Disappointment, but expected sadly - BYE RARE!

Rare created two mega classics, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.
But their track record beyond first person shooters, with the exception of the original Banjo Kazooie, is poor.

You'd expect a title like this to at least rival the Zelda series similar to how Banjo rivaled Mario 64, but there is no comparison. I had to stop playing the game after I beat the 1st major puzzle; I was incredibly bored. The objectives fall flat. Get the rune (or whatever), walk up or down the monotonous caverns, place the rune, open a door, jump over some tedious platforms, repeat endlessly... and repeat the same things endlessly on a track, no freedom here....

The interface is awful. You are forced to select weapons and commands using the C Stick - it is very clunky. All of the icons look the same. You are forced to try switching while fighting the lame enemies. Fighting consists of mashing the A button. There is no, I repeat, no fighting strategy. The horror when you see an enemy coming; you end up just running away to avoid the tedium.

The story is as bad as the horrible Jet Force Gemini. You will care less. It is true that the Star Fox characters were just pasted into this game. To make it worse, the few times you get to battle in space with the Arwing are done very poorly. i found myself just flying through the gold rings and not paying any attention to the enemies flying around. It is a chore!

The graphics are OK, but in no way next generation. The environment around you is repetitive. Even the smart gamer will waste time walking the wrong way or entering the same room 30 times and remembering that you'd cleared it 1 week ago.

You're sidekick Prince Tricky is a big time failure. You simply give him commands but there is never a feeling of team work. You will start wishing you could melt the ice or find the stupid boring power up without his assistance.

Nintendo is my love. I was sad when Rare left for XBox, but this game confirms that Nintendo is on the mark with letting them go. Star Fox joins the horrible Jet Force Gemini, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo Tooie, Blast Corps as major disappointments. Bye Rare; go fail on the Xbox.

Not a true starfox game

This is more of a Zelda game then a star fox game. You only get to fly the arwing in five different levels. The rest of the game is on foot. Now, this might have been that bad except for the fact that instead of shooting up enemies with a laser gun, you must wack them with your stupid staff. Combat is to easy to be considered combat. You walk up to an enemy, and rapidly press A until the enemy dies. When you finally enconter enemies with sheilds to block your attacks, you get the ice blast power up for you staff so you can just frezzes them and then wack them. If you have ever played a zelda game, the puzzles will be way to easy. It seems like they just took all the puzzles directly out of zelda. In one puzzle you must shoot you fire though a different colored fire to activate an orb. How Zelda is that?!? Also the plot in this game was terrible. Find some dumb rocks so the planet will go back together and then find some stupid spirits to get this girls fox out of a gaint chrystal. How dumb is that. The only reason a gave this game one star is for the cool boss battles. They were the only cool part of this game. If you are thinking of buying this game because you want a star fox game, wait until Star Fox 2 comes out around this holiday season.(this is not a rumor, they showed the game at E3 this year!!!). If you are thinking of buying this game because it is like zelda, buy the Wing Waker instead. It is harder, and combat is a lot more fun.
In conclusion don't buy this game for any reason. You will regret it just like me.

Starts out fun but becomes boring

When I first got Star Fox I thought it was great! It was fun, hard, interesting and cool. Then when I got towards the end it got boring. It really is a bad game. If you are someone who starts to like a video game then doesn't like it you will not like this video game. I would not recommend this to most people.
