With the Sims hot date, which just came out, the sims vacation is the other expansion pack that lets you leave home. The vacation spot is an island called paridise island. THere are three spots in which you can go, the beach, camping, and the snowey region. Within tose regions, you can hunt, fish, snowboard, build sandcastles, go to arcades, and hunt for treasure. You get to stay on vacation as long as you do not spend tons of money. When you go, you can take your whole family, unlike hot date.

Maxis has gone and done it again. Just to say when Hot Date gave gamers the ability to have their Sims leave their homes was just great to begin with. New areas to "hang" and let "situations" evolve. Not only does "Vacation" still let Sims go downtown, but on vacation too!!! With every expansion pack The Sims has put out, you always get more floors, styles, etc. Vacation also has added features as such. Plus - you can manipulate your existing vacation spots. All neighborhoods have their own vacation island, so you can change and create as many islands as you wish. Also, the website itself is also great for downloading new characters, skins and such, but with "Vacation", there's an added bonus. You can download more skins and characters that aren't available to Hot Date and previous expansion packs. You'll get hooked in an instant. All Maxis products deserve 5 stars

This expansion pack is great!
With hot date you got a pond for downtown and home
now you get a great pond with shrubbery, frogs on lily pads, and DuCKS!!!
i love when the parents pick up the kid so they can put the hat on the snow man etc
also i love talking to the vacation co ordinator etc
quite charming
Loads of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game is really a blast. I don't own any other expansion packs for The Sims, so I can't say if this game is the best out of the other "packs", but I'm guessing it would be. In the game, your Sims go to Vacation Island and get a choice of a camp site, a beach resort or a winter wonderland. Each site has objects you can't buy in buy mode, like bathroom stalls, cash registers and half pipes. I had heard that you can't play the original The Sims when you have an expansion and I was worried I would lose all my houses and families. But, when you install The Sims Vacation it copies your houses and families onto the game. I definitely recommend this game.

This is the best expansion pack for the sims yet. I mean all the new stuff adults got in hot date the kids can get in vacaction like buy new pj and bathing suits. The best item I love on this expansion pack is the the halfpipe because I am a big extreme sports fan. So I would get this if you any other of the sims games

I love this game!
Just get a nice computer because if you don't it gets really slow.
Here is a list of cool things!
1: The Sims can go on vscation and you can date on vacation island!
To date I think you need Hot Date.
2: 3 vacation themes snow, beach, forist, and each theme has a curtain NPC snow:Betty the Yetty, beach: Marky Sharky, forist: Archie the Archer (or some thing like that).
3: New themes for homes AND (sorry for the caps) vacation island.
4: A lot of new objects Note: A lot of them are decorations for the new themes.
5: Hot Date made new Adult interactions now Vacation has new kid interactions like Rock, Paper, Scissors!
6: etc and plus if you have other expansion packs then it adds some ectra to Vacation Island!
Thay say teen but I think Pre-Teens can be aloud.
Not bad but still the least fun expansion pack so far

Well, all of the Sims stuff is really cool, so I can't give this TOO bad of a rating. But by far, out of all the expansion packs for The Sims, this is definitely the most boring one. There're only three types of places you can go on vacation: forest, beach, and winter. And some of the animations between those three are the same. For example, the snowball fight option in the winter places is exactly the same animation as the water balloon toss. Not too creative.
It was a great idea, but if for some reason you can only afford all the expansion packs minus one, leave this one out. You won't be missing as much as if you left out one of the other ones.

I'm a Sims fan and this is one of my favourite expansion packs (the other one is Superstar.) The coolest thing is when you can make your own hotels. Luckily, my Sim children haven't ever turn out of control. The new items are absolutely cool. I can't wait for the Sims 2!

The only reason to buy this expansion pack is that you need it in order to download many of the great new, fan-made objects you'll want from the multitude of great Fan-made sites for The Sims.
Things like, new skins, heads, and objects of all kinds which you cannot download and use in your game without the "Vacation" expansion pack.
For that reason only, it is a "must have".
Such a pain..........

First of all, this game is way too slow! Just like the other people said, it takes about 5 minutes to enter the game. I've never wait THAH long to load a game!
Second, this game can easily cursh your computer. Such a pain......
And at last, this game doesn't really have many new interesting features. You already know what it has in the advistisment. Only a few new characters, and vacation spot. That make me a bit disappointed.
Well, this game may sound fun at first, but I don't really likt it as much as the other expension packs. I rather go to downtown then to vacation......
