I really like everything about this game! I like that the Sims can go on vacation several times. You can buy one rug that costs a lot...it's a white bear rug that the Sims can sit on. There are more beds to choose from when you want to buy a bed. Another thing I really like about this game is when the Sims rent a metal detector. They find really funny things like old boots, money, and treasure! You can get a lot of prize tokens and get lots of stuffed animals. There isn't anything that I don't like about this game.

Fun... with a few flaws

This is a good game, but it's not as original as Hot Date was, it's the same deal where you call a cab/car to pick you up, and you go to a new world, which you can customize if it pleases you. There are, as usual in all the expansion packs, new items, wallpapers, floors and so on. While it may be endless fun for some people (generally people my age, 13 and under) it can get a bit boring. While there are new interactions you can use on the kids, and new items leading to more ways to have fun, it will only be fun until the next expansion pack, which, knowing Maxis, doesn't come out much later. It's a lot of fun for me, but I will agree with some people that it does get a bit boring after a while. However, all of this is just my opinion, and considering it all, it's a pretty good game.

I didn't like this one at all...

I agree with "A gamer" from Tempe, Arizona. This expansion pack totally messed up The Sims on my computer. It either wouldn't run at all, or it would shut down once I got into it. I spent 30 or 40 dollars on it, so it was pretty much a waste of money. I'm sure it would've been fun if it had worked, and it seems like it worked for most of the reviewers. However, other friends of mine who got this expansion pack said it didn't work for them, either. And for some reason, the other expansion packs do.

Not the best...

I realy am going to be honest, this is the worst sims expansion pack. It's really a waste of money because there is no use going to "vacation island", when you can throw a party, go to "Studio Town", or go to "Downtown Sim City." Before you buy this game buy:
Sim's Superstar, Sim's House Party, and Sim's Hot Date those are the best Sim's Expansion Packs

Trouble with the Sims games

I have spent about a total of $130.00 on The Sims games. (Sims, House Party, Livin'Large, and Vacation). When I first played the games, they worked fine and they were very fun. But then for my birthday, I got the Sims Livin'Large. That game worked ok for awhile, but then the game no longer worked, and neither do my others. I've tried numerous times to uninstall, and reinstall them, but they still do not work. What happens, is, they either load all the way and shut down, or, in the middle of the game, they shut down, and you haven't saved it yet. I have spent a lot of time making houses, and putting stuff in them, and then every single time, it shuts down. I would not recommend purchasing this item for you or someone else.

This expansion provides a great way to improve the sims life and relationships. Some vacation spots are better than others, but if you plan on starting a sim family a vaction is the best place to begin.

I'd give this Sim's ep a turkey

I love the Sims but Vacation made the game crash and the characters became stuck on vacation island in one spot. It was if the Vacation Ep was not compatible with the other ep's. Outside of some cool objects it really was not worth it. I uninstalled Vacation and the game now runs fine. I traded Vacation at a local video game store for something else.

Let's be honest, nothing its perfect, except this game.

This is a game worth the money, that will probably be your first impression when you decide to get this. You may think hey its no big deal having you Sim is to go on a well deserved vacation and having a nice fishing or snowboarding.Well you're wrong because hey in HD you got your sim in the 'town and have them have a real social life well here you're going to do kinda of the same just in a cool beach, forest or snowy mountain, well your sim deserves it, after being punished by a...genie or being transformed with the cool potions machine you can have a lot of fun writing postcards to your friends or winning trophies and stuff with the treasure haunting. Now I've heard a lot of complains about bugs well let me tell you I bought my copy since the game went out and until this sun I've seen no problema with my copy and other people say its slow, well what you expected santa on a yellow sledge,of course this expansion pack its slow with all the cool stuff it should be okay, but if you are a unpatent monster well get a quick monster of computer. In little words this expansion its great, you only not get to vacation and have fun youres so buy it andif its slow, hey its not my fault.

Way Cool!!!!!!!

The Sims: Vacation is about, well, sending your Sims on vacation. You can send them to a snow-capped mountain, "rough it" out in the woods, or go to a beach hotel & boardwalk. Youcan also bulldoze and construct Vacation lots, just like the Downtown lots in the Hot Date expansion. However, unlike Hot Date, your vacation will have consequencesces, whether they be major or what. For instance, your relationship points with another Sim will drop if you don't send them a postcard. If your family is in a good mood and you play lots of lot games, you can win souvenirs which you can display (and brag about) when you return home.
