Not for the impatient...

If you are a first timer to this genre, RENT this game first. Only people with peculiar (heh,heh) tastes will like it.

If you have played a Harvest Moon before, then you will probably like this game even better. It improves on the N64 version almost threefold with more crops, more festivals and more tools. My only real complaint is that the relatively long loading gets very tedious, especially later on in the game.

THIS GAME TOTALLY RULES ITS SO COOL YOU START OFF AT YOUR GRANDPAS FARM (WHICH EVERY1 SAYS) AND YOU STAY THERE FOR VACATION (IN THE COUNTRY) SO WHEN YOU HAVE TO GO BACK HOME YOU GOT YOUR GRANDPAS ADRESS AND YOU STARTED WRITING LETTERS AND WHEN HE STOPED WRITING U WENT TO GO CHECK ON HIM AND THATS WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT HE DIED.

AS YOU TAKE CARE OF THE FARM YOU CAN GROW VEGTABLES CROPS AND EVERYTHING (WELL NOT EVERYTHING)YOU GET TO TAKE CARE OF LIVESTOCK (COWS SHEEP A DOG AND PONY).

YOU CAN ALSO GET MARRIED TO 5 GIRLS IN TOWN AND THEY HAVE RIVALS AND YOU HAVE TO WIN THEM OVER IF YOU DO YOU CANY MARRY THEM AND YOU CAN HAVE A CHILD ONLY A BOY

I GOT TO SAY THIS GAME IS 1,000 STARS IT IKS SO COOL.
ITS THE BEST GAME I WOULD BYE ITS NOT A WASTE OF MONEY

I love this game! I know that it has cheap grafics, but that's what's fun! There are plenty of choises to court.

Ann: A very shy (but cute) girl who loves to chear you up (she lives in the inn).
Mary: another very shy girl who wants to be a writer(she lives in the library).
Elli: She's very outgoing, but careful (she lives in the clinic).
Popuri: a very sencetive girl, but friendly(she lives at the Poultry Farm).
Karen: a pretty girl who wants to help, and she likes her privecy (she lives in the supermarket).

I just love this game to pieces. But remember, very bad grafics!

harvest moon is an amazing game and i would like to write about how good it is but i just wrote a whole big paragraph and i accidently erased it..so to get to the point harvest moon isnt about farming its about friendships and family and if people cooperate and have fun together then the end results could be beautiful so if you haven't bought this game...BUT IT NOW...because it could teach you alot..and not just about farming..but about life...and in real life i spent days drawing out a town i wanted to make based on harvest moon and it would be the absolute perfect place if anyone me or you could make it for real

Harvest Moon:Back To Nature is more than just a game. It's a great learning experience. This game may seem to look a little cheesy to people who judge games by their cover, but it's not. There are tons of fun things to do like plant crops, raise animals, and even marry. How many games do you know that are an RPG that allow you to choose who you marry. I believe the playstation version is much better but all of them are great in their own way. This is a must have game for anyone who wants something unique.

I got Harvest Moon:Back to Nature two weeks ago. Ever since that, I've been glued to it. Why you wonder? First of all, there is absolutly no violence in this game (but there is use o alcohol). Second, this game can go on forever (this only is exciting for patient people)! To find out other reasons this game is so good, you have to buy it, and play it. This game is Awsome. It's even better than Metal Gear Solid!

This is an absolutely amazing game! I purchased it when it was first released, and let me tell you, I've played it nearly everday since then! I was never really into the cutsie farm animal type games, I was more into in titles like Zelda: Ocarina of Time(which if you haven't already purchased this title, I insist you do)and I was sort of put off by the farm animals on the front but I decided since the store I purchased it from had a 5 day return policy, it would try it and if I didn't like it, I'd just take it back. Then when I got it home, I was impressed.
The nonlinear and real-time gameplay, the fact that your not limited to just one path through the game, and interacting with an array of different characters and even deciding which of five girls you will marry (ann - tomboy, popuri - girly girl, mary - geek, elli - caretaker, and karen - funloving)! I will just end off by saying, if you were put off by the cutsie looking cover like I was, just try it and then judge whether or not you'd like it!

This game caps Natsume's work on the Harvest Moon series. With its beautiful graphics and many engaging activities, Harvest Moon: Back to Nature will give you your money's worth of a purchase.

The basic premise is: you have returned to your grandfather's farm, which you visited as a child, to return it to its former glory. You are the sole owner, and worker, of the farm, and therefore everyone is watching you to see how well you do. The mayor and the town that the farm is in tell you that if you don't restore the town AND get the villagers to like you after 2 years, then you must leave.

I have never even gotten to the first fall, the days last about 10 to 15 minutes a piece, and when you are in a building, time is stopped. In order to restore the farm, you must grow crops, which are different for every season, and sell them to make a profit. Also you can buy chickens, cows, and sheep which you can get eggs, milk, and wool from. When you gain the capability later on, you can turn the animal products into mayonaise, butter (I think I remember that right), and yarn. The villagers will sometimes ask you to do odd jobs for them, which will allow you to get even more money, and with the addition of a mine, harvestable plants beyond the farm, and elves to take care of your farm on days you aren't around, the possible ways you can play the game are endless.

Keep in mind that this game has no fighting, so if that is all you want from a game, try something else, this won't be your thing. For people who want something completely different, this may just be the game for you.

Not only my 13 year old son loves this game, but my 4 year old daughter, my 61 year old mother and I (39) can't stop playing!!
It is fun but educational too.

Harvest Moon is a great game. When you start out it takes a while to get some animals but once you do the game is extremely fun. You can raise chickens cows sheep a horse and even fish. When you start the game the mayor (a guy in a red suit) asks you a series of questions like whats your name and stuff like that. After that he will explain that this was your grandfathers farm and he will show you a movie of when you were on this farm for vacation. After the clip he will tell you that in three years the farm has to be as good as it was when your grandfather was here. You have to be nice to the villagers and try to get the girl you like to like you back. There are also ext. like a bigger chicken coop and even a bigger house ( since you start in a shack) your work you way up to a full fledged house. I have never made it to the end of the game so i don't know how it ends. Harvest Moon is a great game and my favorite even though I have Ps2 and Xbox it is still my favorite game. Here are the good things and bad things.

strategy- 9 you need srategy to beat the game
Addictive- 10 This game gets you very addicted
overall fun- 24 This game is very very fun
Buy this game here at amazon for only 19.99 it's worth every penny!!!!!!!!!!!!!
