This game is Awesome, plain and simple. Yes there have been some problems in the past but Mythic works had at fixing them and has done a spectacular job at assimilating player input into a greater product. The quest system is incredibly detailed and is fun, even at level 50 there is plenty to do with fighting against the othert realms. Noone yet has maxed out the total amount of realm points, and with the expansion there will be a whole new dimension added to the game. This game is one that will be around for a while.

Quite good!

The biggest complaint about the otherwise good game Dark Age of Camelot was a lack of content. (This was, of course, usually when being compared to EQ plus its four expansions.) Well here's a lot more content and it's very compelling. The creatures fight better. They look better. The locations are more interesting.

It also has an upgraded game engine which is makes the game look far better, even if the affects are subtle.

It's a very worthwhile addition to what was already the best MMPORPG out there.

MAJOR POINT TO POINT OUT

I just have to say all those that have written negative reviews really do not know what they are saying--that is my opionion of course. Why do I say that? Well here's a few points to keep in mind:

Compared to this game and expansion, show me one game on the web that has the following:

The company actually listens to players !
The game has very good grpahics !
The game has normal servers: Which means realm vs realm (3 realms all together)
The has PVP servers: For those that get bored easily play PVP server--u get to kill anyone u fell like mobs and other people regardless of realm.
At level 50 in pvp there's tons to do such as surviving and killing other people and chill out with yer friends while u get attacked by other players at times.

Well All i wanted to point out this game and how long this game has been arround, NO GAME COMPARES ! THIS IS A MUST TO BUY AND ENJOY ! Plenty of races, and classes available !

Simply Amazing!

The only thing I can add to the other really great comments about this game is this....
If you have played other online games and been frustrated, this game is different. The first thing that you will notice, no running back for your corpse! If you choose to, you can go back and pray at your tombstone to get back a bit of experience point, but it is not required. There are no item lossed, when you die, you retain all items and money you had when you died, cool, I hated 'corpse runs' for my gear.
Some have said that solo playing is hard, well, I solo play and it is not hard, just takes a bit longer.
The tradeskills in this game are among the best I have seen. You can take up skills such as tailoring, armourcrafting, weaponsmithing, alchemy, and more. The best part to the tradeskills is this,... there is actually demand for your products, no sitting in one spot for hours 'calling out' that you have wares for sale with no sales made.

Good Expansion - Still Expected More

This expansion was well needed for DAOC. It gives the players an entirely new realm along with new classes and races that are pretty good. I dont think the graphics are as good as I anticipated them to be, but they are good enough to give DAOC its first expansion and a taste of new things.

Great Expansion

DAOC is a great game, and this expansion pack added an drastic improvement in graphics. If you don't think the water in the Salisbury Plains, or anywhere is real, you need to get your eyes checked. Dark Age of Camelot is THE BEST MMORPG game available! Graphics are outstanding, interaction with other players is great, and Mythic is constantly trying to make the game better, the frequently add patches which bring new aspects to the game.

Simply a great game - Tauqir, Trefkin, and many more from Merlin, Albion

Best game ever !

Dark Ages of Camelot by Mythic entertainment is truely the best multiplayer web game ever, in my opionion. The expansion just shows how dedicated mythic entertainment is to bring the most fun and best epxerience that one can expect. Considering, how long this game is on the web, this is definetley showing us that mythic entertainment truely cares about the players. This expansion is a must, awesome new classes and races available with this expansion.

Hated EQ, Hated UO, Loved DAOC

I bought DAOC on a recommendation from a co-worker who swore up and down that I'd love this game. I did the Ultima Online thing only to despise it and waste hours/days of my time trying to figure it out. EQ was frustrating until I found someone willing to give me a ... load of magic stuff that would finally help me move forward.

DAOC was an entirely different story.

From the beginning on the Bedevere server I found that I was able to easly get through the newbie levels, the specilization portion was extremely cool and I managed to go from a complete newbie lvl one toon to a lvl 50 Mana Enchanter within six months of real time, or about 14 days of player time.

Can't highly recommend this game enough.

Don't get me wrong, DaoC is a great game and I have two accounts and 14 toons to attest to this fact. The good news, at least for those just entering the game, is that you'll have an easy time immersing yourself in the game, at all levels. The bad, for long-term gamers, is that Mythic has made all of those levels, Master Levels and achievements that took you months and months of work MUCH easier for noobs to achieve, without actually giving you anything in return (you DO get the nice title of "Elder" if you've player for four years or more). Given the ridiculously exaggerated prices for artifacts and scrolls achieved through Atlantis (now available for free download along with the basic DaoC software and Shrouded Isles expansion at Mythic's site), Mythic has made scroll drops vastly easier, and dramatically increased the cost of repairing artifacts (in addition to adding Epic Armor in Catacombs that comes close to approximating artifact quality, and which anyone can, and almost has to, get as part of general class quests).

It's genuinely sad that Mythic, rather than responding to its long time, loyal customer base, has chosen to pander the game to potential new subscribers. It wouldn't be such an issue if something were done to balance this, like giving long-time players some advantages in crafting (getting an LGM "has never been easier"), or benefits for toons leveled prior to the Task Dungeons of Catacombs (where "leveling has never been easier"). Sadly, this is not the case, and new subscribers continue to join, which is, in some ways, great news. What should concern them, however, is one day they'll be veterans, like the rest of us, and will find out first hand how deaf Mythic can be to that group.
