One of Our 1st Fantasy's - Mystic Quest

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 4 / 7

This is one of the first Final Fantasy titles that I had ever owned & I bought it when it first hit the shelves... now that is a long time ago & Final Fantasy has definately evolved into something much much more, but that doesn't make this game fall short of a masterpiece.... this is game is an absolute classic, when it first came out it was the leading rpg game of it's time & the fact that these other people can't appreciate a game for what it was when it was is just sad, expand your horizons & go back to your roots.... Final Fantasy Mystic Quest is one of the best rpg games of it's time & is definately worth adding to any true rpg'ers collection.

The Best game ever!

When I got the Super Nintendo, It came with all these cool games. One of those were Mystic Quest. I played that game everyday! But then came the time to sell it. I was so mad, but I was getting a 64 though. The graphics in this game are great, (not like Ocarina of Time), The music is awesome, the stroyline is cool, and the whole game is just all in out fun. But one day, about 5 years after I sold it, I saw I thing called ROMS. That website had FF:Mystic Quest! I was so happy! Anyways, this game is very cool. Amazon.com has a good price for it too.

Fun Game for a Beginner...

I played this game because I devour any RPG that Square puts out. It was targeted to "beginning" RPG players, but I still enjoyed playing it. My young niece and nephew enjoyed walking around and hacking up the monsters without really knowing what they were doing. The graphics were a little more simplistic and so were the sound effects and music, but it did not reduce my enjoyment any.

best game ever played

I rented this game when I was 3 and a half years old every time I got my alowance i would spend it on this game. I have played almost every single super nintendo game it the world and this is the best and only one I have never beat. This games graphics are as up to date as they were when it was first made. The caracters are some of the best i have ever seen. The story line is almost one of the most neat and cool one i have played on. As a roleplaying game this is the best i have ever played.

Good game for beginners

I have to admit, this has a simple story, simple graphics, etc. But I rented it when I was just realising my love for RPGs. It is a good game for a beginner; it is fairly easy to figure out the puzzles. I would say I liked it. If I went back now, I'd probably prefer a game with better graphics and all, such as FF10, but don't let this stop collectors or beginners. Hope this helped. It's my first review.

A shining RPG of the past

Maybe its just me, but I love the game. I was 4 when I got my hands on it, and I'm 14 now but the game is good for the both age groups.

The MP system is redone in the past, which clearly is the last of the [Each Spell takes one point] system. FF2j (Only in Japan) was the first to introduce the system of Magic Points and such (Cure takes 5 and Meteo takes 80, complicating). Final Fantasy Mystic Quest is probably one of my favorites simply because it was easy to understand and the storyline was actually understandible (FF4 confused me). The music was some of the best, and I couldn't stop playing the game. I used to stay up until 2am playing the game.

FFMQ is no FFX or Lufia 2, but it specializes for the younger ons, such as myself. I still play the game to this day, but then again if you're in the Adult ages I'd consider you to rent it (then again it'd probably be cheaper to buy since it came out TEN years ago). It was the game of its time, and it truly is the beginning of FF's sucess; clearly a GREAT start to new RPG'ers to the RPG systems of today, and a good way to bring up the confidence in yourself.

First FF game, and still the best...

I played this game when I was four until I was about 5 or six, thats when it randomly disapered from my room. Its one of those things u remember back as one of ur fun childhood memories. I love this game, I always did, because it was just.. I dont know addicting? Anyways, yes I guess it is a huge strategy guid, and it was nothing like the other FF games, but you know what? It was fun. (And better then the others, cuz ther f'n complicated, and u lose the fun immediatly.. well for me at least.) Thats all u need to know. Im 15 now, and I still play this game (now on a computer) and I still just love to find those chests and try to get higher levels before u meet ur game partners for each part of the world.
Thers soo much more I could talk about this game, but ima go play it right now!

Great introduction to the rpg world

I have to admit, this has a simple story, simple graphics, etc. But it was the starting point for my love of role-playing games. And for it's time, it's a decent game. It's fairly easy to figure out the puzzles, and the bosses aren't too tough. If I picked an rpg now, I'd probably prefer a game with better graphics and all, such as FFX, but don't let this stop collectors or beginners.

Mystic Quest

I personally loved Mystic Quest. Sure it might be different than the rest in the series, but let's not forget this game was made in 1992. Of course they didn't have the graphics and superior gameplay of newer games in the series. I believe that it was a great game at the time and is a classic today. I played it not to long ago and still enjoyed it. If your looking for a classic game to play then Mystic Quest is definitely worth your time.

Underrated

As one of the first Final Fantasy games I ever played (of course I was only 11 when it came out) it holds a special place in my heart. Sure, this isn't a game that will take 80+ hours to complete or pages upon pages of printed walkthroughs - but that's what makes it so enjoyable. Yes, it's a game for beginners, but even 16 years later I still find it to be a great game - with decent graphics, great storyline, entertaining characters and wonderful music - one that I still enjoy playing.

Now if only they would release it for download on the WII...
