greatest squad based shooter ever

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

This game is the reason why I bought my xbox 360, and it has done it's job. This is the best squad based shooter I have ever played. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay is flawless. The missions run seamlessly without long "loading" pages between missions. Between missions you are being briefed "in game" or on a turrent gun taking out soldiers on roof tops. You also have the ability to call in air strikes and control Apaches, tanks, drones, etc... If you like strategy games then you will love this one... I highly recommend this game. And thats just for the single player mode... online play is just addicting. Too many game types to choose from and it seems to be different every time. Great online support, a must have for your collection.

Best 360 game

I've never played any of the previous ghost recon games so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was extremely satisfied with all the elements of this game. Gameplay is somewhat like full spectrum warrior where you give your squad commands and tell them where to go. And here you have control of the captain's actions. Meaning you can shoot and do things yourself. I had difficulty with the control and command at first, but once you get used to it, you'll be shouting out orders to your squad and sometimes a bradley assault vehicle, while turning the enemy's flank with ease. Or at least trying to. I also noticed that enemy reacts well when they see you or your squad. They will lay down a supressing fire and then seek cover. This is a step up in game play that really seems to simulate a real world situation. But there are certain situtations where the enemy A.I. leaves himself out in the open very prone to fire. All in all a good mix that makes the game fun and challenging.

The graphics in this game are what stand out the most in terms of the next generation. I used to look at cut-scenes from the older systems and wish they would be in-game. It's a reality now. The character models are very well done. The details of Mexico city is also laid out very well. Another thing is the sunlight and how it effects the visuals. Very life like and I must say this is the best looking game to hit the 360.

Multiplayer is pretty well done, although I only played a team deathmatch type game for about a half our. I know there's a two player co-oop mode where you and someone else can square off against bots. I know there are other multiplayer modes, but I have yet to get into them. I'm too busy with the single player campaign. You can change the appearance of your soldier for on-line play. Customizing player looks was a great idea and is just another great part of this game. If you're not into tactical military games then maybe look elsewhere, but if you are then this game is for you.

Great game for the Xbox 360!

I bought this game the day it came out, because I was bored with my current Xbox 360 library. This game is pretty fun. The graphics are truely next-gen. The only complaint that I have with this game is that you can't individualy control your team mates. You can only control them as a group. Other than that, if you like real-life shooters, pick this game up.

A great game

As it has been said, boredom had set in with the previous 360 game releases. I've been waiting and anticipating the release of Ghost Recon on the 360. I have enjoyed the previous Ghost Recons and figured the 360 version could only be better. Well I was right. Graphically this game is awesome. The sounds in the game are realistic and most importantly the gameplay is engaging. I have to admit the game does offer a challenge, but who want's a game you can easily breeze through? Anyways if you are looking for a game that will have you playing for hours at a time, look no further. I'd say this is one of my favorite 360 releases to date.

I HEART GRAW!

Firstly, if you do not have this game yet, stop reading and go buy it! Alright, now that you have it, know that you just spent the best $60 of your life. Buying Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (GRAW) is like getting two complete games for the price of one, Single Player campaign and Multiplayer, each alone being worth the price of admission.

First we look at the single player campaign: Without a doubt, the most jaw-droppingly gorgeous visuals ever created for a console game. GRAW boasts incredibly detailed 3D modeling and textures that one must truly see for their self to know how impressive it all is. Then there are the effects... effects out the wazzu, from convincing particle effects like torrents of fire, rolling dust clouds, billowing plumes of smoke and explosions of atomic proportions, to stunning lighting and immersive atmospherics, every facet of the graphics are top-notch and life-like. As for the sound design... wow, just wow. The sound is just as beautifully crafted as the visuals, you can hear gun-fire in the distance and a crying baby down a desolate alley just before it all hits the fan and bullets zing by your ears from the left and an RPG comes in from behind and blows your eardrums out, temporarily deafening you. GRAW employs some of the most advanced techniques and technologies to create a truly stunning masterpiece that is not to be missed.

Next up, Multiplayer: Many of you will jump straight into the LIVE (online) aspect of the game, which is ever so slightly toned down in comparison to the single player campaign, but still graphically outshines every game you have previously played, single player & multiplayer alike. The physics are spot on, if you down an enemy while he's standing on the stairs, his body will realistically tumble down the steps to the ground. The objects and environments are so detailed you could easily find yourself getting sniped if you get too awe-struck and start staring at rain droplet's making ripples in an puddle or shiny shell casings rolling on the ground. Every map in multiplayer is well balanced and loads of fun to play, you will have your favorites, but every one of them is a gem. Not only are there many maps to chose from, there are many game modes to chose from like Elimination, Objective, CO-OP, and a myriad of option to create user definable custom match types. More than enough to keep you busy.

If you only buy one game in the next 4 months, make it GRAW.

UBISOFT re-invents the video game experience

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

I purchased Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter about 4 months ago. I believe this is the the best game so far produced for the XBOX 360 console. The quality and realism goes far beyond any video game I have ever played. Confidentially to Lenice Carol Kelly-moynihan of Clarksville,MD., I don't know what game you were playing; you gave GRAW 1 star..you must have been tripping. The on-line play is where GRAW shines. Playing in teams or solo; it's truly an incredible experience. One downer though: there is a lot of trash talk and graphic language by some players but there is a system where you can report offenders. Some minor gliches online; sometimes sessions lock up and you have to restart.
Pick up this game..trust me..you're gonna love it!

A Classic Duck and Cover Game

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 1 / 1

I like this game. I bought it the first week it came out and I was very impressed. It's really the first duck and cover game that I can remember in the current genre. The graphics are decent and the story is OK. I think at the time it was really revolutionary but it can only be classified as second rate when compared to Gears of War and it's vastly improved cousin, RAINBOX SIX: Las Vegas.

The AI for the fellow soldiers is shoddy at times and definitely can be a nuisance. It's also a very difficult game since most games now have the "hide and heal" capability and this game does not. If you get hurt, you have to find a medical pack to get healed or advance to the next level. In some cases, it's more real but it's also a pain as there are plenty of instances in the game where you can get hurt very easily and then have to go through the rest of the level with little health.

I also think that this game has a little bit of a learning curve if you've never played any of the UBISOFT Tom Clancy games. Going from GRAW to RSLV was not very difficult. There are some subtilties but not much. If you've never played any of these games, make sure and pay particular attention to the tutorial or training missions. They can help you get up to speed quicker.

If you can find this for a discount price, pick it up. IT was groundbreaking at the time but with time, better options have come on the market. Still this is a very solid game.

Solid Game Experience

The next addition to the long running Ghost recon series, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW) is an excellent game that plays great and provides outstanding AI and visuals. The first thing I noticed in the other games is the incompitent AI. Fear not! In GRAW you will be hard pressed to stay alive as the enemies are very intelligent and use flanking tactics. As a tactical shooter GRAW does an excellent job providing rewarding and interesting weapons, tools, and gadgets, as well as the ability to command gunships, tanks, and APC's. This Game is SICK!
Online, be prepared to wage an intense war and you'll depend on your team, trust me. Online GRAW really pulls you in and makes you feel like your part of a huge team of advanced soldiers fighting against other highly advanced soldiers. A must have classic!
