Finally, one of Square's elite-quality games is on the PC! This game keeps you enthralled with a beautiful story, excellent graphics, and characters you can never forgot. At least it did for me. So, kiss your family goodbye and lock the door 'cause this little gem is gonna keep you busy!

The pure definition of quality.

For its time, FF7 was without a doubt one of the best RPGs ever made. There is no debate on this point: FF7 was the foundation and benchmark that every RPG was judged against until FF8 was released. Every single person that enjoyed RPGs bought, borrowed, or rented this game.

You cannot, as a person with any amount of intelligence, give this game a one star rating. You might as well tell the world that you are a complete idiot before posting because in order to give FF7 one star you would have to be nothing less than retarded.

If you state that this game is only worthy of one star then you either: A) have no clue what you are talking about in terms of rating a game. B) do not like turn-based RPGs or C) played this game years after it was created and then tried to rate the game based against current games.

FF7 is the true definition of a classic RPG. This game changed the way a lot of people viewed the RPG genre and was probably the single most memorable RPG of that entire year. Square delivers quality games year after year. Sure, there are some games that are not excellent like FF7; however, Square has and will continue to set the bar for high quality games.

"Final Fantasy" was Square's last attempt because they were not making money selling games and their "Final Fantasy" turned out to be one of the best games in the world which takes us to FF7. FF7 was, is, and will always be a truly amazing piece of art: a game to remember.

I love this game. I have absolutely no idea why i'm so enthralled with it, maybe it's the incredible graphics, maybe it's the story, maybe it's just the great fun of it...i don't know. If you really enjoy the fantasy/adventure aspect of gaming you'll love this. I'd recommend it to anyone...it's just so much fun!

Ok, Final Fantasy VII is an AWESOME game--one of the best RPG's to ever exist. But DO NOT buy this version of it. 8 out of 10 times this piece of ... won't work on your computer. It's not just ..., it's almost all PC versions of this game. - ...

Overated but worth the play

This game has excellent characters and character depth - the best RPG around in that department. Unfortunately, the turn-based combat can grow very annoying by being sprung on you every 5 to 15 seconds whenever you're in a dangerous place. This timing system is especially annoying on the World Map when the timing is reduced from 5 to 10 seconds. This is a real downer in the game as the turn-based combat isn't even all that engaging and can grow quite tedious at times. However, with all that being true the game will just go on and on and is ideal if you want a long-term adventure. But be warned, don't expect to be entertained if you like atmospheric games. Anyone who hates 'cute' games should keep well away from this.

It's not as great as the hype

Sure, the graphics were amazing for it's time, but let's focus on the real thing that makes people continue playing the game... the story... It was so amazing, and it could only be two things: A movie or a game... Square had no experience with movies, and it wouldn't have been as popular a movie because it wouldn't be 60 hours long.

The fighting was actually better than most Final Fantasies, if you ignore the slowness of a single battle, which I did somewhat. I liked the system where you could level up your materia.

Pretty good, not worth the hype thoughm sorry.
