FF6 is one of the best yet

It is one of the best Final Fantasy games yet. I don't like the magic system as much as it's TOO flexible, but it is still very fun. It also has a good plot that will not get boring too easily. As to how bad it works on computers, that's true because they converted it straight from PlayStation to PC and it could be better. But if you have at least a 233 you can use software mode and get few if any problems (the videos get off sync with the sound unless you have a POWERFUL video card in software OR accelerated modes...)

Having withdrawal symptoms from Diablo? Take a dose of this.

Final Fantasy 7 is one of the greatest games for Playstation, and now it's on the PC. You guys are really lucky. I mean it. This game rocks. If you like exploration, strategy, great CG movies, managing characters, and turn-based battle this is for you. This game will keep statistic freaks occupied for weeks on end. Heck, it took me 70 hours to beat it!

In summary, Final Fantasy 7 is a continuation of the Final Fantasy series. The Final Fantasy series is the best series of RPGs ever created. Thank Square after saving the world from destruction.

The best game I have played besides Final Fantasy 8

This game is very addictive with an AWESOME storyline, a load of GORGEOUS FMVs(Full-Motion Videos), and PLENTY of hours of play! The best part besides the awesome graphics and FMVs is the storyline. It is so good that about 10 minutes into the game you are deeply and personally involved and you will be happy, mad, sad or whatever when something happens in the game. The game's characters and storyline are SO detailed and awesome that I still can't believe I had played a game this good! It really grabs you. Man, you will be wanting sequels!!! This is the first real Final Fantasy game I played and it has addicted me to the series!!! PLEASE buy this game...you will understand once you start playing......Let the story begin...

My brother first got this game for his birthday and beat. Then he stopped playing and we lost the cd's but I wanted to play it since I had skipped a bunch of parts so I was annoyed that we couldn't find th cd's. Evuntally I bought and it is as much fun the second time as it was the first.

What is love?

I think it most fantastic game. Not so complex system and yet we can feel sympathy for the humanistic story. Hero and heroines put a question about "human love" to us, and it is in form of gaming, which even children can easily enjoy. So this is a new attempt in gaming industry.

Amazing

This game has wonderful characters that you actually care for as the game progresses. The action is great and so are the special effects. You have to learn to master magic(materia) and you can't wait to see how the story ends. I highly recommend this game! I've never played anything like it.

Simply Excellent!

I've been a fan of the Final Fantasy series since way back when I was a wee youngen, so I can tell you guys by experience that every new Final Fantasy game gets better each time, and FF7 is no exception. As expected from SquareSoft, the plot is complex, very deep, and extremely entertaining. The graphics add to the atmosphere and are smoothe as silk. The combat system, however, is what makes this game. It's not a click-fest nor turn-based, but rather a combination of both with a splash of strategy and tactic on your side. The game will deliver easily over 50+ hours of gameplay and even then it wouldn't be enough. This game has my unconditional seal of approval.

A landmark game...

Stunning. Simply stunning. FF7 is a gaming icon.

What's there to like? A lot. For a start, the setting, a world where magic and technology exist on an equal footing and which features some of the best settings yet and a truly epic world. The storyline is excellent, putting many other games, movies and even novels in the shade. The game has a knack for setting you up so you think you've got the situation sussed, then shaking things up radically. The characters are sympathetic, even most of the villains, and there's more to all of them that meets the eye.

The game system is heavily biased towards combat, which is all right, since it does it so well. With sweeping camera angles and beautiful SPFX, you want to get that new spell or summonned monster as much for the wonderful effects as the effect it has. The summoned monsters in particular warrant a mention, mainly because they're so wonderfully over the top in the best tradition of anime, including a huge steampunk thing that surges out of the ground and blasts the enemy and a dragon which appears in orbit and fires an energy beam powerful enough to flatten a mountain at your enemies.

Bad points...a few but nothing which really spoils it. Genuinelly challenging fights are few, most notably in the mid part of the game, the menu system is cumbersome (not changed much from the console, it seems) and the character graphics can be a bit crude out of combat (close up, they look like they're made of Lego) But nothing serious. Buy this, if you haven't already. You won't regret it.

A masterpiece, but go for the PS version

Final Fantasy 7 is yet another gold brick in the shimmering castle of Squaresofts frequent triumphs. You will fall in love with the characters, you'll wish you could jump right into the world. The game's events are structured very well(except for the ever-present "level up before the final boss" stage of the game). The graphics are wonderful in their own right. It's just as deep and enthralling as any Final Fantasy should be.

But, to be honest, it's a hassle to bother with the PC version. It's best to get a playstation and play it that way. FF7's system requirements are strict and tend to make the game look and run worse than on the Playstation even if you have a good computer. And keyboard control is no fun at all(ironically, I used a gamepad that resembles the PS controller). And otherwise, this is a striaght port so you're not missing anything if you go for the PS version. But, if you refuse to/can't buy a playstation, this version is better than nothing and you certainly won't want to miss out.

So far, the best RPG in America

Final Fantasy 7 is the best rpg I've ever played (but ff8 is coming out soon)! You play in a world of nature vs. technology, complete with commercial corruption, the supernatural, and a world crisis thrown in. The game is so much fun, it takes hours and hours to finish, the graphics are stunning (especially the full motion movies), and you can explore a huge beautiful world. The music is beautiful too, some songs just set up the mood for the setting, especially towards the beginning in the urban slums. Others are beautiful and symphonic, like the character Aeris' theme. This game is the best! The only problems with the PC version is that the CD's always fall out of the case they come in, and you need a fast computer with 3-D capabilities to fully appreciate the game.
