From the creators of Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark; Timesplitters is the most promising game of PS2. With a framerate of 60fps, a level creator, and tons of multiplayer options, this should be the first game you should buy.

I hope everyone reading this page realizes none of us have played the game yet. Time Splitters is a very fast paced first person shooting game with very good AI. It runs at 60fps and supports 4 player spit-screen play via the multi-tap. This will be the first game on Playstation 2 that has what it takes to tackle Quake 3 and Unreal tournement. If you are a fan of party games or first person shooting goodness than this is the launch title for you. Enjoy.

At this point, Timesplitters looks awesome. I have seen screenshots and movies, they show that the game is fast paced and looks very promising. With a level editor, more than a dozen playable characters, and the expertiese of the goldeneye team, you can't go wrong with this game. This is my first game to get at launch time.

Ok, i havent played this game (PS2 is a month away), but i now so much about it, i thought id share a little. This game has many multiplayer modes (capture the bag, deathmatch, co-operative, escort, assasin, knockout, target practice, flag tag, and reverse flag tag). there sre over 50 multiplayer characters, and the game comes w/ a VERY simple map editor for multiplayer. there is also a single player mode w/ 9 levels. there are 9 levels for multiplayer too, but you can make ur own levels w/ the level editor, and u can unlock all the single-player levels to play. it supports multitap for 4 players and its gonna be GRRRRREEEEEEAAAATTTT!!!!!!!!!!!

the best game for psx2

Man! When I first heard that this game was going to be at 60 frames per sec even in 4-Player mode I was really impressed! Not only that but having 50 cool characters to choose through out the time lines is really cool! Also the slick and awesome level editor really makes Replay HIGH! Go out and buy this game it's worth every penny!

Great Game. But be careful....

Timesplitters is one of two great first person shooter games available for the PS2 (the other one being Unreal Tournament). This game was made by a group of people who were part of the developement team that made the classic Golden Eye and Perfect Dark games for Nintendo 64. So if you loved that style of play, you'll enjoy Timesplitters. But, WARNING: the pace of Timesplitters is BLISTERING! Some prefer the slower speed of the old Bond Golden Eye game, and some liked the quicker pace of Perfect Dark, but Timesplitters is MUCH faster than both. I found that some of my friends got a little dizzy playing it because they prefer the slower frame rate of Goldeneye (which is too slow for most, including me). Also, the one player mode is cool, but it's not the high point of the game. It was clear that Timesplitters was meant to be a great multi-player game. So if you're just looking for a one player shooting game that plays a bit slower, you might think twice about this one. In addition, the controls might take a bit awkward at first if you're used to playing with an N64 controller, but since you can assign button functions any way you want, it won't take long before it feels second nature. As for the best feauture of this game: it allows you to create your own levels! So, if you like blistering paced Goldeneye/Perfect Dark style action for more than one player, Timesplitters is a great choice for your PS2. I'm happy with my purchase, althtough it's not quite up there with SSX and Madden (which are absolutely stunning games).

Is TS all it's cracked up to be???

In a word, somewhat. TS(Time Splitters) is one of the 24 PS2 launch titles. And having bought 20 of them I can say with much confidence that it's definately NOT the best. At most TS is a semi entertaining first person shooter that has a very rushed feeling. It's laborious one-player mode is painful to play through. Bad AI and boring levles make for a terrible single player experience. The saving grace is the fast and furious multiplayer mode. I played game after game with my friends, a total of 6 hours straight. The single player missions serve one purpose, to unlock more multiplayer options. So this is a warning if your looking for a good game to yourself steer clear. But if you have 4 controllers and alot of time on your hands, this is the game for you!

I'm sorry

This game is really lame, I got to play it yesterday when a friend brought his ps2 over to show it off.

There is no story, you just get plopped in to the level, the levels are pretty lame, and the monsters are horrid, and many things are modeled all blocky.

The framerate is nice and smooth, no wonder though, everything is pretty low poly. and for some reason it takes forever to load the levels... an very long time.

Save your money for better games, the SSX game looked pretty beautiful.
