Very fun, but could have been excellent.

The game is very addicting, and the graphics are quite good, but it's not a very difficult game. If you get it do yourself a favor and start out on a more difficult play level.
Biggest dissapointment is the length. The game should have been twice as long, at least. You're still just starting to get into it when it's over. If you can get it for cheap somewhere, then it's fine, but I paid full price and I feel jipped. The game could have, and should have, been much more than it is. Maybe they'll try Mech 2 and do it right.

MUST BUY FOR XBOX LIVE!

Don't be fooled by this being a Mech-game...the game is action-oriented, the likes of like Halo although in 3rd person.
The game has a decent amount of time involved for offline play, and allows you to get used to the different types of mechs available. Playing online is awesome and immersing. Highly Recommend!

Most Fun I Have Ever Had On XBox!!!!

Oh My GOD where do I start. First let me say that this game is very similar to CRACK, once you start you can't stop. I have been gaming since the original 8 bit Nintendo and have had just about every system in between up to the new Xbox and can't remember the last time I was so completly addicted to a game. The single player mission's are good but only to beat the game and unlock the two most powerful Mech's in the game, Ymir and Ragnarock for the online battles.

There is nothing like going into to battle with 2 or 3 other online friends and be able to cordinate devasting attacks, while at the same time be able to talk real time with them over the headset.

The game play is fluid and easy to pick up but will take time to discover all the little nuances that make up the strategy to the game. Graphics are beautiful with breathtaking explosions, of both the Mech's and of buildings. There is no lag on line and the screen frame rate is always constant. With over 10 Mechs to chose from with 6 maps at this time with more coming soon via a xbox download I can't see getting bored with this title for a long time. Plus the ranking system makes replay mandatory, for bragging rights( ya so what if your ranked in the thousands, I moved from 8000 to 3500 in a matter of days!). Three words for anyone looking for the best all out Mech warfare and for endless hours of gaming excitment, BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!

If you liked MechWarrior, you'll love this!

I got Mech Assault with my Xbox. I was really surprised how cool this game is! It was a little difficult to catch on to the controls at first, but now, fighting tanks and other mechs is no problem. I played MechWarrior role-playing game in high school so this really caught my attention. I really like the being able to destroy buildings and impact my environment. Also, as you progress, you get a selection of Mechs to choose from.

I highly recommend this game, IT ROCKS!

I like this game because it's a great blend of strategy and action. I would reomend this title to people who enjoy giant robots. This game is also very intense online. Even though I was blown up a ton it was a blast. It also has a great blend oh Mechs. Once you beat the game, you'll have the option of using any Mech you want on multiplayer. Overall this game should keep you busy.

Awesome robots and giant explosions

Mech Assault is a fun game. There are two main modes: Campaign and Multiplayer. Both are fun but I like Multiplayer better. Under multiplayer there are many types of games such as tag, destruction, and grinder. There are also a lot of different stages like River City and Junkyard.
There is a wide variety of Mechs too. From fast to slow and from strong to weak. All of them have three types weapons. They are ballistic, energy, and missile. The ballistic weapons are like your macheine guns. The energy weapons are the strongest. Those are your lasers and of course the missile weapons are missiles. They also have special abilities like flying, becoming invisable, and shooting out chaffs. They are all very useful. This game is very fun and is worth every dollar! I think it's the best fighting Xbox game I've played.

One of the best futuristic games out there

MechAssault was my first game of its type and I have never had a funner time. The missions are simple enough at the beginning that u don't have to practice a lot but it gets challenging enough at the end to be fun. One of the only drawbacks I can think of it the one vrs all campaign mode. I mean, one guy destroys an entire mech army, come on. One of the best things about multiplayer mode is (not on Xbox live) Grinder mode, u face growing numbers of computer players in inceasingly heavier mechs, depending on how good u are u can get up to seven or eight mechs on you. Talk about challenging. I love the ctf mode that they created, it gives the lighter mechs a chance to shine. All around an excellent game, whether solo or multi.

why the Xbox live just kicks...

It's been a long time since a mech game has appeared on a console offering both solid action and lots of fun. Iron Soldier and Mech Warrior had always ruled the console scene; recent titles such as ZOE and Virtual On:Ont. were decent in their own rights, but the former being devoid of challenge and the latter being too arcade-styled haven't really given mech fans much of a middle ground. Enter Mech Assault and bask in the wonderful middle ground Microsoft has created. The game's action is fast and intense, without being complicated like the PC games of this type. The controls are spot on and the learning curve is small so you can get right into the action. As a one player game, Mech Assault can be a bit tiring toward the later levels. There really isn't a deep plot to get into and all the missions begin to feel the same after a while. Where this title definitely shines is in the online multi-player modes. The Xbox Live's broadband connection creates a wonderful playing environment with no lag or slow down. Though everything in the game moves smoothly without slowdown, the Xbox can do so much more in terms of graphics; environments are sharp but uninteresting while your mech and enemies don't show that much detail. Hey really nice explosions though! I recommend this game for those who are connected with the Xbox Live server and dying for a great multi-player action game. For those who prefer to play alone be warned, the first few hours or so are fun, but you'll probably tire of the repetitive action.

Mechassault by Microsoft puts you in the pilot seat of a giant Mech, going on various missions in a campaign. The game is now packaged with the Xbox live starter kit and is a great deal within that package.

The Graphics are very good, especially the explosions, and you can interact with much of the scenery. While there is a great deal of mechs you can get, I would like to have seen a better variety of weapons.

You can download addl. mechs and maps online. Online play is very smooth. play in arenas with every player for himself or in teams. A number of different game options are available making it one of the better online Xbox games.
