The photo of the game is misleading, this is the platinum hits online enabled version if you buy it new from Amazon. I was looking specifically for the original version.

Ripping good fun

Game sounds good and looks pretty good too. Not as good as some games, but it is an older game. Game play is sweet fun with lots of stuff to destroy and humans to step on.

Amazingly fun - I miss it now

Was a truly amazing experience on the XBOX. Harkens the days to Battletech goodness. Showed off what the original Xbox could do.

this is a fun game if your inti the mechs the graphics are good but like the first halo game type the difficulty level are weak to easy to kill stuff but expert setting there only like 7 mechs and then varients of those ones that just have differnet weapons loadout the multiplayer is good but not great

Lots of fun.

This was a top-notch game. I really enjoyed playing it. It was a well-designed, thoroughly enjoyable shooter. The good looking girl calling you "cowboy" all the time was a bit silly (especially since my wife was also playing the game at the same time I was).

If you've already played Halo and you're looking for a different but enjoyable shooter then try this one.

This is a very fun game at times. You get to destruct all you've ever wanted. However, it gets very tiring because you find yourself blowing the same things up with a very small variety of weapons. The best thing to do is rent this game first, and then decide if you wold like to buy it. Then, if you like it, might as well spend the mere $20 to buy it.

NOT for MechWarrior fans

If you are looking for an XBOX vertsion of another chapter in MechWarrior series, this ISN'T it. This is an extemely dumbed-down version of MW. Even if you (Mechwarrior fans) forget about having no customization, remember this: You can only fire one weapon at at time. You have to cycle between lazers, cannons and rockets. I was bored after about 5 minutes.

Again, people who never played MW series may like this game better.

not as good as I hoped...

When I first saw the game I just couldn't stop thinking about it now I think I could have done without. The game it self actuwally is a good idea like the graphics and all but the story line just down right stinks its basiclly fight, fight, fight! and thats it kill this bad dude and defend the base. There is a nice verity of things to kill and meches to use but there are not very many diffrent veichels to drive. Another thing when you replay levels you have the same mechs that you did when you originaly played them.I sugest that you first rent or borrow this game before you bye it I made that mistake and I do not want you to too.

I hope this review was helpful for you

Comes out shootin'

Well, mechassault is definitely a gung-ho action game that blasts out of the pen with guns blazing and metal smashing...

The game runs a healthy length with plenty of missions and devastation to satisfy your average action junkie...

However after the something-teenth mission of "Go get this guy..." or "Blow this thing up..." the action becomes way too familiar and by the end of the game I was only playing to reach the credits. The story is okay, but it is based on the action and really doesn't have any solid footing - in all honesty it isn't necessary. There is no character development or improvement upon the mechs - although you do get different mechs at certain points of the game they all handle relatively the same way.

The performance of the game was perfect, the graphics were great, the sound great, and the action great. If those are items you love in games then by all means scoop this one up; but if you like a little more depth than constant explosions and repetitive combat sequences then pass this one up.

Take care!
