This game from is extremely brutal, different teams from different regions compete, in this maybe stealthy yet gorey rumbal. Beat on eachother with any weapon imaginiable. This game seems very fun but not for the weak stomache. This game will be another hit to be added to Rockstar's collection.

The Age of Snuff Gaming has Begun

I have seen some still of this game scttered along different Gaming Magazines , the game is very brutal , deadly and violent .

The game focuses on the main chacter ( James Carl Cash ) who is wandering in a city called Carcer City , and he is being chased by 2 different types of criminals , the fisr type who wants to make the hunt and kill your charcter and the second type who wants to capture you and torture you VERY SLOWLY to death , and ofcource all of that is recorded on CCTV cameras to be recorded and then sold in the Snuff Multimedia Market .

Snuff movies have been explored before in the excellent movie (8 MM) but this is the first time to be explored on the Gaming Platform , and it comes from the brilliant minds at (RockStar Games) those who are behind the Legendary GTA:Vice City , so expect top notch graphics , Multiple routes and mind blowing scenario , and there in no playable demo available yet , iam sure it will rock the Gaming World , just wait and see .

another hit

ok the basic plot behind this game is a knock off of the jason movies but with a twist now the main character is the prey not the hunter and since it's from rockstar you know it's great but the thing i like about it is the sick humor

Questionable

The storyline to this game is good, and as people say, :It's Rockstar, they made GTA 3, and GTA VICE CITY." But that's the problem... it's Rockstar. This company makes questionable games some times, like State of Emergency... that game was terrible, but then GTA Vice City came out and covered up for it. This game has potential, but I am not sure of the final outcome.

HARDCORE!!!

I've only played this game for about 45 minutes so far, but I already know that it is the most violent video game I've ever seen. I've played violent games before, but none of them have made me wince or grit my teeth like this one. Hardcore, extreme, depraved...but really entertaining. Not for children or people with weak stomachs. Example: You sneak up on a guy, put a plastic bag over his head, beat his face in a few times spraying blood everywhere, then snap his neck. This is one of the more "tame" ways to kill your enemies. Like I said, very brutal and very hardcore.

Look at me...I am a moron writing a review

Even though I have never played this game, I am sure it will be great...blah blah...Rockstar puts out great games...blah blah...it sure looks bloody..blah blah...I love to write reviews for games I have never played...blah blah...signed, Fanboy.

(Please...wait until you actually play a game before you review it...some of these "reviews" were written a month before the game was released)

A Very Good Addition to the Stealth Genre by Rockstar North

Manhunt is not for action junkies. After several enemy encounters (and a considerable loss of life) you will find that Manhunt is a stealth action game in possibly its purest form. Unlike the Metal Gear / Hitman / Tenchu series of games there is no avoiding enemies and survival only comes from killing your enemies with silence and silence alone. Stages do not progress without dispatching of every enemy.

Rockstar has done an exceptional job with producing nerve-wrecking environments and the dark atmosphere and music does much to draw the player into the experience. The sound is definately the games highlight. Graphically Manhunt is a solid title and the effort does Rockstar proud. Although the control is a little different at first - it does become intuitive.

But most of all its the games' ability to put the player at ease that sets Manhunt apart from any game before it. The commentary by Director Starkweather and the dialogue of the enemy is sick and twisted. When combined with the well designed environments and ambient music - the game player finds themselves inexplicably nervous and worried. Often I'll forget that I can redo the stage and feel like the first chance is the only chance. That's a pretty rare feeling.

Manhunt has all the bases covered for a solid stealth action title, but combines it with the bone-chilling feel of a survival horror action game. Everything in the game is very good, nothing totally spectacular, but I give it a firm recommendation for anyone looking for a different and involving video game experience.

NOTE: The cut-scenes that take place during enemy executions are as gruesome as anything which has come before it. It is not for the faint at heart.

Perfect after a bad day at work

I must admit the first 10-15 minutes of the game were boring. I thought, damn I wasted $50! Once I got used to the controls, it went from 1 star to 5 stars.

Controls:

It has a GTA flavor and sort of the same control.

Sound:

Lots of cursing. Lots of smack talk. Hardly ever repeats, so you can get yelled at with different catch phrases. Music is dark, no rock bands. You might recognize some GTA sounds. As you slash away, a dude will yell "kill him, slash him..." you get the point.

Graphics:

Pretty good, better than GTA. The kill scenes in which you dismember people are a treat for using stealth (sneaking up behind people and then cutting, stabbing, strangling, choking, slashing...) Regular fight scenes are pretty much GTA like. The game is not too dark and it just fits right in with the game play.

Game play:

Sneak around and kill. Collect different weapons to create I guess better kill videos? There is a story line which is you got arrested, sentenced to death, put into a game (like the movie "Running Man"), then you kill all these gangs in neighborhoods to the end of the game to see who put you in the situation (I guess fight a big boss man at the end or something). Easy puzzles to beat levels. You get to use a magnetic crane and drop fridges on people. Weapons go from a plastic bag to a sniper rifle. Lots of action to be had if you are up to it. You can get killed easily, but not too easy if you run when out numbered. The AI is pretty good, they move shoot and take cover. Fight scenes {one on one} are pretty basic two button moves. Pretty good placement of save icons.

Verdict:

If you want a more violent GTA series with stealth, then this is a must have. Should you let children play this game? Only if you let your children watch slasher flicks and snuff films. Will this be the next GTA? No. If it had more interaction with the enviroment, I would say yes (drive vehicles and such). If you want violence this is it.

Okay back to the game.

A Great, but Brutal Game!!

Truly a brutal, violent PS-2 game, but for anyone over the age of 17, it's worth the purchase!!

The artificial intelligence of the gang members is pretty cool, and adds to the challenge of staying alive... Multiple levels await, in which the object is to sneak, stay quiet and then hide in the shadows ---- until it's time to KILL!!!

It's much more linear than Grand Theft Auto, so you don't have as much freedom to do whatever you want (and the levels must be completed in order), but it's a great game anyhow... Nice graphics and sound, and of course, being it's from Rockstar, there's plenty of blood and gore...

Three thumbs up!!!

Hide-and-seek to the death

More like 3.5.

This is a stealth game in the Splinter Cell/Hitman tradition with urban grit and ultra-violence as the goal.

If you like getting into fights head-on, this is not your game. Your character is thrust into a world where you have to sneak in the shadows, use noise distraction to attract your enemies, and come up with creative ways to finish them off to advance. One of the most graphically violent games ever, taking the blood out of the game wouldn't really begin to make this adventure more tame.

The graphics are primo, the engine solid and the sound impeccable. I'd have liked more options to fight with - maybe a combo or two - but it plays pretty swell in the end. Think of it as hide-and-seek to the death. Could get a little boring for people used to the manic runnings of Vice City or any fighting game, since you really have to use strategy here to succeed, not brawn.

Not even CLOSE to being for children or the faint of heart.
