Tekken 4 The best fighting game yet

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 2

I was blown away by the first tekken installment years ago and since then I have been a loyal follower of the series. I've been playing the arcade version of tekken 4 lately, and learning the fighting system in tekken is a wonderful vocation if your a novice and if your a veteran fighter you will love the tweaks on this latest incarnation.

Namco has done it once again! Tekken 4 is hands down the greatest fighting game ever made! The game has so much to offer... great graphics, an amazing soundtrack, breath taking backgrounds and the depth that all other fighting games seem to lack. The Tekken series has always been light years ahead of the competition, and Tekken 4 is no exception. With a long learning curve, tons of moves, and a great selection of characters, this game is every fighter's dream! Tekken 4 also introduces new characters, walls, interactive backgounds, and all new modes of gameplay such as "Tekken Force Assault" and the new "Story Battle Mode" which features great new artwork! So if your looking for a fighting game that will keep your interest, and has great replay value, look no further than Tekken 4... Thanks Namco, for yet another great game!

Are there more stars or am i just seeing fives all the time?

Hello I have been a Tekken fan since 96 and the games keep getting better and better. About a month ago i heard about Tekken 4. I went to the Typhoon arcade and played tekken 4. It is the best game ever. Graphics are perfect and pretty much Everything is upgraded. If I had to pick over Virtua Fighter 4 or Tekken 4, It would totally be Tekken 4. Cant Wait until it comes out

Bustaz better make way...

Tekken 4 is aight. I mean, it could use more useful characters. Craig is a big ol' house and, although people who use him disagree, is a waste of pixels. Other than the lack of new talent and the tag option the game is one of the freshest. Virtua Fighter 4, yeah, it looks good but that's tripe. Tekken 4 is the game to have...until Mortal Kombat 5 hits and puts Namco to shame. MK FOR LIFE...!

A Must Have

I'm not saying I own the game or anything, but I have played the arcade version and it is AWESOME! The graphics, the moves, the new characters are amazing! It has a newer game engine compared to the other Tekkens and there is no infinite stage(meaning that you can smash someone into a wall, a tree stump, or a person in the fight club stage!) Also, there are a lot of other cool stages like the forest stage, and the water effects are amazing also, similar to the ones in Virtua Fighters 3 and 4.

Best of all, there are new characters including Chris Marduk, Steve Fox, the combot(much like Mokujin), an Eddy-like fighter named Christy, and a guy named Violet(which bears a striking resemblance and very similar story to Lee Chaolin's, who also returns in this episode).

Also, Kazuya and Marshal Law rejoin the cast and Jin has a whole new fighting style. Heihachi returns, too with another of his plans with the Devil gene(i'm surprised he can still fight, I think he's like 70-something in this game). Like I said, the graphics are amazing, and not just on the environment, either. The characters look almost real, and they have whole new costumes(kudos on the new Yoshimitsu ones) which also look amazing.

Like I said, I don't own it, but I'm sure the PS2 version will be jam packed with features, and a lot of other stuff(I hope they put another minigame in it like the Tekken Ball mode Or Tekken Bowl.)

This game is a must have, so get it when it comes out!

I have been a fan of the Tekken series since back in '97 when I first played Tekken 2 at my cousin's house. At the time I had no idea what the game was... but one thing was for sure... it sure was fun to play. I had never seen a game with graphics that were 3D like that before. I wasn't into fighting games, but Tekken sure made me change my mind. (Especially when Tekken 3 & Tekken Tag arrived...) The graphics for Tekken 4 are amazing, & the new wall system is stunning. The gameplay is fast, the music is perfect for getting someone into a fighting mood, there are tons of secrets to unlock, & a great replay value that will make you want to play this game 24/7. Also, I absolutely love the variety of characters & different styles that you can use for every character. You can choose a male or a female, a tall or a short character, a powerful character or a fast character, a puncher or a kicker, etc... I, however, especially like Jin Kazama. He's strong, agile, fast, & has a variety of new moves since his fighting style has changed. He is now a more capable & reliable character than ever before. (My 3 favorite characters are Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, & Hwoarang...) I have Tekken 4 for my Playstation 2, & I haven't been able to put it down it's so much fun. Buy this game as soon as it is released... you'll truly enjoy every minute of it... ^_^

There are only 2.5 responses you can get from this game:

1) you love it, because you've been a Tekken Fan for years and this is just a Definite.

1.5) you've played some tekken games and are in the process of getting addicted -> Newbie.

2) you can't stand this game, mostly because there are waaay too many moves/combinations to learn.

So, if you're #1 or 1.5 OR are into fighting games and just haven't gotten into the tekken series, this is a MUST. The graphics are awesome and there is abosolutely no better fighting game than the Tekkens. Some other games may have better graphics or cinematics, but they lack so much in gameplay. There's just no limit to how in depth you can get into Tekken.(chickens, chain throws, tech rolls, how 2 seconds of vulnerability after committing to a move can get you killed instantly) Try it out, a ton of gamers would probably pay even more than [money] for it.
